I'm curious how this division race compares with other horrible divisions in the history of the NFL. This might be the all time worst. 

I saw insightful (yes, that's right) comment from someone on nfl.com - that person reckons NFC South should be stripped off a playoff spot and that one given to whomever doesn't make it in AFC North.

Raiders won their first game.

 

Think it will be Patriots and Packers in AZ come February as they will be playing next week.

Looking at everybody's schedules, I'd say AFC conference is completely open. Pats are playing well right now but starting this weekend they are on some seriously rough road ahead. Broncos have couple difficult games to play as well. I seriously think we might get to play few playoff games at home, after taking a rest in WC round.

I was thinking about this the other day. It is looking likely that division is going to have a 5 or 6 win division champion. Maybe 7, or 8 but still horrible. Honestly, why not change it so that while yes divisions will still matter, they will be seeded 1-4 per the rules we have now. EXCEPT, when your division champion is below .500(8-8) then the division winner is essentially kicked out of the playoffs and the 7th seeded team takes over that spot. Thus the 5th seed, moves to the 4th seed, 6th moves into 5th and the 7th becomes the 6th seed.

Didn't USA Today or someone else make that suggestion a few years ago when this happened with the NFC West?
