Week 12 Discussion(Other NFL Teams)

517 posts in this topic

So Week 12 is here, meaning five more weeks of regular season football before we get to the p word, playoffs. For some strange reason NFL Network is airing Chiefs vs Raiders on TNF this week so I'll move along to Sunday's games.

Key Games:

Lions @ Patriots: Have to wonder if this will be the part of the schedule where the Lions fall apart after having such a strong start. Heading into New England won't be an easy task so we'll see how Suh and the D handle Brady and co.

Cardinals @ Seahawks: A huge NFC West game that could have been with the division on the line if Seattle wasn't hit with the Madden curse and Arizona wasn't running away with the West and the NFC's number one seed.

Dolphins @ Broncos: The Broncos had a major slip up against the Rams, in a tight AFC West race where the Chiefs(7-3) and Chargers(6-4) are in the Broncos rear view mirror, they can't afford another slip up against the Dolphins.

Redskins @ 49ers: In the midst of all this Jim Harbaugh is done, he won't be the coach, etc is the fact the 49ers are in the playoff hunt. They have found their groove after beating a lowly Saints and Giants team. They get the lowly Redskins which should help their playoff chances more.

AFC North Related:

Browns @ Falcons: Atlanta got a much needed win against division foe Carolina, moving them to 4-6. They are playing a Browns team that has lost its mojo in recent weeks. Does Cleveland continue to further sink Atlanta and further the chance the winner of this division has only 5-6 wins?

Bengals @ Texans: Ryan Mallett got his first career win last week and after a Colts loss has the Texans right in the thick of the division race. The Texans need a win to keep up with the Colts, and the Bengals need to keep winning to hold off the Ravens, Steelers and Browns in the best division in Football.

Steelers: Bye Week.

I wouldn't say they lost their mojo in recent weeks.  :D  They certainly looked like butt last week but the week before they absolutely destroyed the Bengals in prime time.

Without a doubt though the X-Factor is Josh Gordon.  I don't care how the Browns try to downplay it or diminish the importance of his return - it matters, a lot.

Stafford has never won a road game against a team with a winning record in his career (0-15). Hard to think he bucks that trend this week against what looks like an unstoppable force in NE at the moment. However, if that defense is for real and does the unthinkable to help a Lions win, the Ravens could win and be within one measly game of the top overall seed in the conference. Let that sink in a minute.

I think he's going to be the reason they make the playoffs and will be in contention for the division through the end of the season. Hoyer is going to get a lot of help from him in the passing game, it's a shame Cameron is hurt, imagine the damage Cleveland's offense could do with Gordon and Cameron on the field together.

I really think the Steelers and Bengals fall out of the division race, and come week 17, that Browns @ Ravens game will be flexed into SNF to determine who wins the AFC North.

Wonder if today's game can be a trap for Cheefs.

I just wonder who is going to watch it considering many will assume the Chiefs will win. Raiders played the Chargers hard last week, it very well could be a trap game.

the rams and the raiders are very similar in the fact that both of these teams play good teams tough. The big difference is that the Rams know how to win those games.

Dalton won't be one-and-out this season.

Chiefs passing game is way too horizontal. Not much going downfield... They really another good WR.

Welcome to life with Alex Smith.

Yes, and with Bowe, AJ Jenkins and Donnie Avery as your top WR's.

When Crabtree and Randy Moss are your best WRs, you're going to have passing troubles... said the 49ers fans before their team started Kaepernick. Everywhere Alex Smith goes, screen passes follow.
