Week 11 Discussion(Other NFL Teams)

812 posts in this topic

Week 11 is here, the Ravens get a much needed bye while hopefully watching the rest of the AFC North lose. The Game of the Week is the Lions @ Cardinals for sole possession of 1st in the NFC. It all starts on Thursday with the Bills traveling to Miami for a AFC East showdown. The Bills won back in week one, and are looking for the season sweep.

Games with Playoff Implications:

Falcons @ Panthers: This game has NFC South Title implications as both are 1 game behind the Saints.

Seahawks @ Chiefs: Boy what a difference makes, or in this case boy what a difference the Madden Curse makes. Seahawks are currently the 6th seed in the NFC, Chiefs are the fifth seed in the AFC. Both need a win to stay in wild card contention.

49ers @ Giants: 49ers got a much needed road win against the Saints last week, and are on the road again to face the Giants. Another win keeps them in the wild card hunt.

Raiders @ Chargers: The Chargers get an unexpected two bye weeks, in back to back weeks. A struggling Chargers team gets to face the lowly Raiders to keep them in the playoff picture while Oakland moves closer to 0-16.

Patriots @ Colts: This has AFC Seeding implications written all over it. Patriots are 7-2, Colts are 6-3. A win by the Colts moves them ahead of NE in terms of the seeding and quite possibly gives them the inside track to the number one seed. A win by New England, solidifies their spot atop the AFC.

AFC North Related:

Texans @ Browns: I like the feel good story of the Browns leading the division but WATT can the Browns do about J.J Watt and that Texans D?

Bengals @ Saints: So much for the Saints win at home, thanks Jim. Luckily the Saints are playing the Bengals and Andy LOLton. This should help everyone in the AFC North race unless the Saints lay another egg at home and Graham decides to push off again.

Steelers @ Titans: So how is it in recent years the Jaguars have gotten home MNF games, and now the Titans have a home game on MNF but yet we still can't? Anyway, Pittsburgh will be without Shazier, Troy and Ike Taylor. Titans may be able to pull off the upset.

P.S. Bold Prediction of the week, Titans score on opening possession for the first time since... (Insert Date they showed last week)

Pray.  Watt is a monster.  He will be going up against Thomas though which should be a fascinating matchup.

Not exactly unless they move Thomas around which would be quite an interesting strategy, Watt generally lines up on the right side although I have seen him all over the place so you will probably see it for a few snaps but not the entire game.

I'm calling it now: Ravens win the bye as the entire AFC North. The Titans typically play the Steelers tough and I believe they handed them a loss even last year. Considering the Pittsburgh defense is without three players in Shazier, Polamalu and Taylor, I think this sets up for them to lose away from Heinz field at Tennessee.

As for the Saints, I don't trust Andy Dalton even if he had a bad game last week against a Saints team at home who just lost a tough game against the Niners against Brees and his weapons with their secondary and LB.

As for the first place Cleveland Browns, they're going against Watt but have the best chance as far as I see it. Houston doesn't have the strongest secondary but it's good enough. The real question is whether they have the QB to win this game. The Browns have a rather good defense, to an extent.

That's right he does line up on the right side.  I sit corrected.  :D

Sooo...do we care who wins?

Both Miami and Buffalo are 5-4, we are 6-4. So in a way yes but to really help us we'd have to hope for a tie lol.

Technically, I'd say we can root for the Dolphins because we can take care of them ourselves later in terms of moving ahead and getting a tiebreak, while needing help somewhere to take care of the Bills in that respect. However, Buffalo has a crazy difficult schedule the rest of the way, so I wouldn't be too worried about them even if they win.

This was definitely a good year for us to have possibly gone WR early. So many hits in the first few rounds are already apparent from this class. I can't even think of a disappointment mixed in there.

I was doing a very crude measurement for what Mike Carey claimed was 7-8 yards and it was no where near that. More like 2-3 yards. Watkins was coming to the sidelines as it was coming down, just fell short. Crap call

Carey remains a biased idiot. Wish they'd stop putting him on already

^^^ and naw, Landry's still a beast lol

This game is seriously boring. I didn't fear Miami before, still don't fear them.

I guess we should root for BUF though because we can at least potentially take care of Miami ourselves.

Even though there's been some questionable calls I'm loving this game. Very enjoyable

Wouldn't it be the other way around? We can take care of Miami ourselves, so we need some help with Buffalo. Might as well be now.

It's a close game at least, a first for TNF. And it's good to see some defense for once.

Is it just me or was this the least boring TNF game this season (apart from us beating Steelers)?

That wasn't boring at all.....
