Memories of Old School Ravens Games

11 posts in this topic

Not that we are an aged franchise, but how about some memories of the older days.

1. Taking a cooler full of food into the stadium

2. Buying a 32oz draft beer from your seats for $8

3. Yelling 'SUCKS' after each visiting players name during the intros

4. Flyovers at every game

5. Lee Greenwood singing 'Proud to be an American' at every game.

And my favorite has to be yelling 'HEY, YOU SUCK!' to Gary Glitter's song after a big play.

Actually last week's flyover was the first in many years.  We stopped after 9/11.

And Lee Greenwood hasn't sung live for a couple years.  It just a recording now.

You didnt clarify live on number five. My bad.

Are you sure about the fly over? I seem to remember quite a few but I could be mistaken, but I dont think I am.

We still do 3 if the visiting team introduces their players, which few do.

Fly overs used to be Home Opener, Veterans Day, and occasional other "big" games. A couple of years ago they got cut out of the military budget. Sunday's was a rare treat.

Every time Lee Greenwood sang live, we lost. The recording is better anyhow. He's not that good live.

I went to the regular season home game in Ravens history.  I watched the last preseason game when the announcers said they released some more tickets, called Ticketmaster in DC (before you could buy the on the net) and got one in the open endzone.. Great day to walk to the stadium except for those naysayers in the Baltimore Browns Backers club who had a rally a block or two before Memorial.  Next year I think is the Ravens 20th anniversary.

I don't remember a flyover for years.  Perhaps a special occasion game.  I don't remember the last though.

And the last team to announce visiting players????  It's been forever since I've yelled 'SUCKS'.

Once again, maybe playoff games.

But i cannot remember the last time this occurred during regular season games.

Announce visiting players? What a let down.
