Question for the bye week

27 posts in this topic

The players aren't the only ones who need to clear their heads.   I am gonna throw out some random questions to pass the time this week.  Clear our minds, get our minds on some positive stuff.  Feel free to join in and ask questions too.

Okay, first one.

If you could go back in time and attened ANY Ravens game which one or ones would it be and why ?  ( We will assume, you will be provided tickets and transportation and all that jazz. )
Since I am sure the Super Bowls would be a easy given for every one, lets just take those off the table.

The first one that jumps into my mind was the SeaHawks game when Anthony Wright was our QB and we launched what at the time was the largest comeback in Ravens history.   I was actually AT that game.  The stadium had just about cleared out, when the comeback started.  It was amazing and the few of us in the stadium that remained were electric.  It was just an incredible  night, it would be fantastic to relive that night again.

The Titans playoff game.   Just watching that game, you knew this team was unbeatable. The Ravens played as such a cohesive team that game.

Also the Denver play off game.  The greatest football game I have ever watched.  To be there would have been something truly amazing to never forget.

One odd one is the Cleveland game where Jamal rushed for 295 yards.   I was and still am a huge Jamal fan.  He is one of the greatest Ravens ever.  Seeing that game would have been fantastic.

Lastly, game one in Baltimore.  This needs no explanation.

What game would you want to go back in time and experience live ?

Denver playoff game.

That game was better than the AFC Championship game (against Patriots) and that Superbowl (vs 49ers). One of my favorite games ever.

For the Seattle miracle comeback, I was at a good friend's bday party and the game was on. No one was keenly interested but me as the majority of guys there were skins fans. They rode me hard while we were getting smoked. We actually gave up watching and went outside for a game of touch. After a while my buddy's wife came outside and said the Ravens had won the game! No one believed it and all went inside to check it out. Even though I saw none of the comeback, it was still sweet to have all of those skins fans eat crow!

I was at the Jamal game with my son. I know it seems silly, but at the time everyone around us was disappointed he didn't get to the 300 mark. Well, smiling while being disappointed. Great memory for my oldest son and I. It was always a treat to watch Jamal, he was a special back.

I went to the Denver playoff game with some friends. Not the 2013 game, but the 2000 wild card game. Temps were in the 30s and the wind was a killer! Everyone had so much clothes and coats on you were just kinda' wedged into your seat. lol. Needless to say it was a great win to witness as it was the start of the SB run.

.

If not either of the SBs, it would have to be the PO game in Denver I would have liked to have been at with both of my sons.

The Mile High Miracle - I truly believe that was one of the greatest games ever played in NFL history. The game had every single variable added into the fact it was very cold up in the mountains. Best time I've ever had watching a game, and I would have loved to have been there.

Been to all those home games.

Well, not the first one at Memorial.

To this day we still talk about the Patriots game.  Terribly windy, cold, black out game, Boller was playing his best game ever.  Stopping the Pats twice at the end Bart Scott throwing the penalty flag into the stands.

I have never felt the stadium so electric in my life.  If there was ever a time I feared a mob riot onto the field, it was that game.  It was like right out of the movies...but we lost.  ugh

Titans divisional, Denver divisional, opening against the Steelers, AFCCG @Pats, Cardinals comeback, 06 vs Steelers (Bart Scott hit) and comeback vs Chargers.

I remember the Seahawks game. I was at that game, and was one of many who decided to leave early. We heard eruptions from the stadium during our walk to our vehicle. Really wished I had stayed.

I was also at the Jamal 295 game. One of my favorite games of all time that I have attended. He was truly unstoppable that day.

The same year of the Jamal game, we faced Pittsburgh at home on Sunday Night Football. Week 16. Can't remember the exact scenario, but we won and clinched a playoff spot. Any night game against Pittsburgh, or in general, we're always my favorite to go to growing up. Being a kid and going to night games was awesome.

I went to Flacco and Harbs first game in Baltimore against the Bengals. Wasn't expecting much but that win really started a really nice stretch for us that hopefully continues for the next 100848892 years lol. Still remember that Flacco 38 yard TD run.

Also went to the Eagles game that year when Reed broke his own int return record. That was a great game.

Only other regular season one I went to was the Rams in 07 which was the win before that awful losong streak got started. Not a fun season.

As for a game I wished I could have been at, the Denver playoff game. Greatest game I have ever seen and being invested in it like that was so stressful but at the same time such a rush when we won. After that game I kept getting visions of the Tuck rule and the immaculate reception in my head with the Jacoby reception. Basically my mindset went from hoping we make some noise to feeling like it was our championship to lose because as the 2001 Patriots could tell you, we had that game lost and we survived and we weren't going to feel that feeling again.

I would have loved to be sitting right at the goal posts at Ford when Tucker's 61-yarder dropped through. I broke one of my son's toys when I slammed it down on the ground in celebration whilst attempting to quell my screaming and not wake him up (ironic), so I can't imagine what it would have been like to see it live and start screaming as the crowd when silent in that dome. Probably could have heard my own echo.

I would have also liked to be there for Indy when Ray said goodbye to the crowd with his final dance in victory. That was hard for me to hold back the emotions from home.

I was at that one too.  At the time my wife was a Pats fan ( key word WAS.  She is from Massachusetts )  I was fully expecting to get our butts handed to us that night.  We really werent playing all that well prior to that game.  Boller was on fire but really the whole team was.

Cardinals comeback,

WOW I cant believe I didnt say that one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Daughter was in The Ravens Rookies Kids Club at the time and she got selected to be the Tee-Kid that game.  She got to run out on the field and grab the kicking tee after the opening kick off.

We got four free tickets, we got to hang out on the sideline for the warm up and the introductions.  It was a really amazing day.

So yeah, defiantly add that game to my list.

Agreed. It seemed like the others were just going thru the motions to get the trophy. Like it was a fore gone conclusion after beating Denver. The sheer satisfaction of that win was incredible.

Nice. Must've been a good experience. Was one of my favorite games and it was insane to see Boldin take over that game. Was a total team effort though.

Denver playoff game for me as well. Would probably hear me on TV cheering once Joe & Kobe silenced the crowd.

Obviously our recent Super Bowl would've been a great game to attend as well. But since I'm not 21 it wouldn't have been as fun for me in NO.

Funnest game I've ever been to, Eagles-Ravens, 08. 2nd game ever for me. Ravens dominating. Ending McNabbs career, basically. And of course, Ed Reeds 108 yard INT return. --- still haven't heard the Bank Louder then it was at that moment.

Obvious choice has to be mile high miracle... That game had everything one could possibly want even the idiot trash talking reporters

But I'm gonna throw out 2011 season opener where we destroyed Pittsburgh after getting knocked by them in playoffs year before.. That was a huge statement game to me and kinda said "we're tired of playing second fiddle to you guys"

Since you mentioned an away game in Denver that one was one of my top two.  Unfortunately, If I was in attendance for the  New England game in 2011 for the Evans rip out hands by Courtney in the end zone  and missed field goal by Carduff.   I choose these because they were monumental games that defined our history in recent years.  Although the result of the NE game was shattering, I liked the attitude of Ray Lewis who found a positive from that debacle.

id love to see the first game in ravens history. special day for b-more

I wonder if that is on Utube.  Who were our division rivals in the inaugural year?  Did we always have Pittsburgh?  Thats like be matched up with your ugly cousin on a first date and stuck with her/him for years (depends on who is reading this) .

It WAS.  Some one even posted it on here.  I watched the first quarter at one point before I ran out of time.  Only to come back later and find it was taken down by, I can only assume the NFL.  I recon they could make a killing by having past games on demand.  Streaming or DVD / BluRay.

Mile High Miracle was amazing shut my brother in law up. Other options 2000 division playoff game vs Tennessee. The New England game where Tucker's FG won it and Belichick was crying. Last one last years Minnesota game 5 lead changes in last 3 minutes again that one shut my brother in law up and any game we beat the Steelers also on the list

I'd like to go back in time and attend the 2001 AFC Divisional playoff game with of the Ravens vs Titans.  I'd love to personally witness Ray Lewis getting that INT off of Eddie George and then watching him break for the end zone for the TD with Eddie laying face down on the ground.  I would have loved to watch Ray, put his finger over his lips to say..."Shhhh!" to the Titans fans.  Priceless!
