I think the biggest gripe I have on KO is health. He can't seem to stay healthy lately. Last year and now this year he has been out due to injuries. That's honestly not something to take lightly. I love KO, don't get me wrong. He plays great, but Yanda has been pretty consistent throughout his career and I don't recall him missing many games.

Outside of major injuries, he doesn't miss anything. I don't think he's had a major injury since his second or third year. This man played a football game with stitches in his leg AND a shoulder injury-- against JJ Watt in the playoffs-- and didn't allow a sack.

Getting back to KO and away from my man love for Yanda.... Health is essential on the line. We saw last year what happened when you face injuries on the line with mediocre depth. It's not often at all where a team has good depth like we do now. If we invest in KO, we better make sure we keep a good backup too. I don't like linemen with injury issues. Line is one of two positions, the other being quarterback, where consistency is absolutely crucial.

I hate going against Graham, Cooks and Colston and that OL in NO but I do like our DL against that OL if they come to play. A week of rest, I suspect, will do Ngata and Suggs some good. Suggs had better stop his stupid neutral zone infraction penalties., It's getting on my nerves now. I'll slap him next time he does it. He's had 3 off-sides and 2 neutral zone infractions, which are very similar penalties. If nobody is counting, that's 5 penalties on the year. This might surprise people, but Suggs LEADS THE TEAM in penalties. Yes, that's right. He leads the team in penalties with 5. That's 1 more than Monroe, Mosley and Hurst, who are tied with 4 a piece.

I think this will be a tough game, but it depends on who shows up for BOTH teams. NO and BAL have both churned out Jekyll and Hyde performances.

But, Suggs has the OL so concerned about him that they are allowing Doom to get 12.5 sacks (and counting). Nope, don't care for the penalties, but keeping the OL guessing is what we need to keep doing.

Clean up the NZ and Offsides but keep the pressure coming!

Side note: Peas please do not come out vanilla for a qtr to see what the Saints are thinking. Watch some tape before the game and have a plan!

I think the X factor for this game may be Campanaro. If he is back and can work the middle, the offense can pick up a ton of short yardage and open up the run and play action.

Any word on Campanaro being back? Seems he is getting closer and closer. I see big things in this young man's future!

Yeah, it's really a shame Camp went down when he did as he was just starting to be involved in the O. Hopefully when he gets back things pick up where they left off and continue on the upswing.

I don't know if it was just my old eyes, but watching the Saints replay last night it seems that they're a much faster team on offense than the Ravens.  Their plays don't take long to develop and even the handoffs are done with precision and at a faster pace.  It will definitely be a test for the Ravens D to keep pace with them.

We have been running the stretch running plays, which are designed to lengthen the time before the handoff takes place while the holes develop. That's by design that the handoffs aren't very quick.

Hmmm I saw that The Ravens worked out some tightends and full backs. I know we added one tight end and full back back to our practice squad but i wonder if The Ravens were thinking about giving Juice more of a role as a tight end or something.

So, I was just looking at the Saints' schedule.

Cincy this week, then us after our bye, then Pittsburgh after their bye. That is one brutal stretch. Sure hope they can pull out a win this week, but could easily see them going 0-3 on this.

keys to this game:

  1. spread saints D and run the ball.
  2. get the TEs/Juice involved and attack middle of the field
  3. WRs need to get on the same page as flacco.
  4. DL needs to manhandle saints OL
  5. secondary plays physical vs WRs/TEs
  6. special teams/JJ will be a factor in this game

It's a blessing and a curse that NO are at home the next two weeks and on the road v. PITT as it makes em more likely to be victorious against us and Cincy and lose against Pit. However, we need another team to push them in their crappy division and I am hoping it will be ATL as they have PIT and CLE at home. IF ATL could put together those victories and NO could beat Cincy and Pitt, even if we lose to NO in a couple of weeks I could live with it as long as we beat SD and Miami.

I've been feeling that we are not using what he does best if we don't get him some time at TE. I wonder about going forward into next year, whether Juice might be moved to TE and perhaps Taliafaro to Full back. Either that or draft a FB.

Talk about a versatile Fullback. i think taliafaro could be great with some time learning the position.

With the way juice has progressed as a blocker, he ain't going to TE

With the way juice has progressed as a blocker, he ain't going to TE

Are you saying that because he has or hasn't progressed well as a blocker?

I think he needs to stay put. He's a solid blocker but he'd really struggle, I think, blocking on the line because of his smaller frame. He may be good and he may be strong, but I don't know if he has the frame to block defensive ends.

Playing fullback gets him in space where he can convert speed to power, which helps with blocking. He doesn't get that advantage at tight end.

I believe he was saying that Juice has been playing really well in the lead blocker role and there's no need to move him when he's excelling right where he is

Think people who want Juice as a TE are severely underestimating the difference in the two positions and how much work needs to be done in order to make that switch.

Needless to say, not the kind of move you make mid-season.

Oh no definitely not saying put him out on the line..

Saying he's excelling where he is.. Specifically saying he's made great progress in his short time here so that adds to the point that he shouldn't move at all

But I have mentioned a handful of times he should be seeing the ball a lot more.. Really expected him to hit 35 catches easy

I struggle to understand how so many people do in fact underestimate the difference in TE/FB. Not to get to deep in it, the two positions are a world of difference. Its not a mid season move, or a move to be made ever with Juice.

Juice is 6'1/250 ... Hes a perfect size for the modern day FB. Catches passes great out of the backfield and can lead block. Could I ever picture him catching a 15 and in over a LB and under a Safety? Not a chance, its actually comical.

Correct me if I am wrong but Juice played more TE in college than FB.

World of difference between the NFL and the Ivy League, but he was pretty much a jack of all trades at Harvard

The Bengals will rough up the Saints, we know how much they like extra-curriculars. They might even hitman a few key contributers.

Mixed feelings on the Saints game; obviously disappointed they didn't help us out by beating the Bengals, but hoping this is the type of team we are facing. If so, this game is a very obtainable, must-win. If our defense and offense plays their top game, there's no question that we win this one.

Absolutely disgusted with the effort of NO today. Disgusted. Hope we make them pay next Monday night.

I expect they'll have an intense week of butt-kicking and come out like lions on Monday.

Moderator 3, I totally agree. The Saints are not going to quietly loose two straight at home? Our game next Monday just got a lot harder to win.
