The Saints pass rush is pretty meh, and I don't recall their secondary being very good. In the dome after the bye we should be able to match up offensively. The key will be slowing down Brees.

Main thing is starting out well.. Fall behind early and we'll never catch up

Debating if I should get a ticket to this game. Or the Texans game. Only chances I get to see a Ravens game living in louisiana 2.5 hours from New Orleans and 2 hours from houston.

If money's an issue at all, I'd say go to NO game.. Price has dropped a good bit with them being pretty meh right now

Saints are a good team, but they are very beatable. Stop the run and pressure Brees. He has made a lot of mistakes this season.

They're about even with us.. Some really good players but some bad holes

And yea Bree's has been far from great this year overall..

I mentioned that we can't afford a slow start in some other thread - and I agree. Assuming our CBs don't play in over their heads, our offense will have to keep up with the Saints.

I just realized that I don't have to go out or watch a crappy stream for next game!

Then realized it's a MNF game against a non divisional opponent. Anyone have the numbers on these? The last ones I remember are the Packers and Jags... ugh

Brees has been turning the ball over like Stafford this year. He's been making real dumb reads and trying to force awful passes. Tried to squeeze one to Graham into triple coverage with no real window.

Yep.. Saw that play.. I live in Arkansas.. Get all of NO's games and bars are always Saints/cowboys/and steelers fans

Place went crazy when he made that throw

Since the Ravens' specialty is stopping the run, I believe that we'll force more throws from Brees. So... I'd expect a shootout. I'm really expecting a shootout. We both have questionable secondaries.

Beating Brees would be a miracle with our secondary .

It will take some doing but not a miracle. Afterall, the Ravens secondary did beat up on Matt Ryan pretty good. But in spite of what I just typed, I do understand and agree with the concerns about this secondary.

This season's experiences tell me that from week to week you don't know what you are going to get. Fact is, the NFL as a whole is that way, ie Steelers/Jets.

If we beat the Saints at their place with practice squad corners and Webb, who looks done, I will be completely shocked.

Joe will have to have his best game of the season as well.

I hate going against Graham, Cooks and Colston and that OL in NO but I do like our DL against that OL if they come to play. A week of rest, I suspect, will do Ngata and Suggs some good. Suggs had better stop his stupid neutral zone infraction penalties., It's getting on my nerves now. I'll slap him next time he does it. He's had 3 off-sides and 2 neutral zone infractions, which are very similar penalties. If nobody is counting, that's 5 penalties on the year. This might surprise people, but Suggs LEADS THE TEAM in penalties. Yes, that's right. He leads the team in penalties with 5. That's 1 more than Monroe, Mosley and Hurst, who are tied with 4 a piece.

I think this will be a tough game, but it depends on who shows up for BOTH teams. NO and BAL have both churned out Jekyll and Hyde performances.

6 penalties. You forgot to include the personal foul called on the Blount tackle vs the Steelers.

Ironically, the Saints lost yesterday to the 49ers in the same manner we lost to the Bengals.  An offensive PI call at the end of the game to take away a game winning touchdown.

It seems I've been doing  a lot of laughing at post the past few days. "Practice squad corners" haha. true! Pees has his work cut out.

To go blitz heavy vs Brees would be giving him exactly what he wants. He destroyed a good steelers D a couple years ago with that game plan. We need to get pressure primarily with 4. Suggs doom and McPhee need to come up big. Throw tons of disguised different coverages. I would like to see a lot of hill and Mosley blanket graham a lot. Take away Brees favorite and best weapon. Force the mistakes.

Yes, let's blitz Brees on every down with their weapons and OL. That sounds like a terrific idea.

Lol it sounds like marching into a blizzard with a t-shirt and shorts.

Did anyone say that ? You don't blitz Brees frequently and he's gonna pick a weak secondary apart .

Yes , lets play soft 10yards off zone coverage against Brees on everydown with their weapons and OL. That sounds like a terrific idea.

1. Nobody said that.

2. Who on this team do you trust to press Marques Colston, or any of their weapons? Riddle me that.

Frankly, Pees' scheme is proven to work against good QBs, so long as the pass rush hits home. But then again, every scheme needs a pass rush to work.

I'm hoping this changes with the shake up in the secondary, but the Ravens really had trouble with stopping the big play, which is something the Saints love to capitalize on. They have a strong vertical game and love to utilize it with Graham and, recently, Brandin Cooks.

Conversely, the Saints don't have the best offensive line and a deep passing game feeds into the Ravens strong pass rush. I'm trusting Pees' scheme will again work now that the safeties are starting to step up, which will allow the pass rush to hit home.

On offense I really think we will lean heavily on the run game. They have been vulnerable there. We will need it to slow down the rush. As well as keeping the ball away from Brees for long periods of time, which this team has been good at often. I expect Lewis to take Torrey away in the game. Joe will have to be patient and get the ball to Daniels and Steve and work juice into the passing game. Hopefully we can catch their secondary in a mistake or two for some big plays after that.

I think these teams are evenly matched. It will be interesting.

Lewis is playing hurt and his Knee looks like a human head..

Interesting, I wouldn't have thought of them this bad, but the saints Oline is 30th in the league with 116 combined pressures/hits/hurries allowed. For a reference the decimated Atlanta line has given up 109.

Good point it will be interesting to see if he pushes it again vs the bengals or rests it.

Interesting stat from the MMQB:

6. The best team in the NFC South, New Orleans, would be 1.5 games out of last place in the AFC North.
