Yes, there's an article about it on our front page. The jinx is on.

Or perhaps we need all of our members to reverse-jinx to stand a chance. For example, "our secondary will give up 600 yards in the air and we lose 70-0."

So am I. A study last year found that Baltimore fans are among the most superstitious. I fit right in.

Ha, I wonder if that study included the game threads here.

i knock on wood 3 times exactly every time i brag about one of our players or talk trash about an opponent, every single time, its to a point now where i do it silently and discreetly because it gets on everyones nerves, and everytime i run my mouth, everyone is looking at me shaking their heads because they know im knocking.

is that weird?

It's only crazy if it doesn't work.

No it's not!  I find that every time I trash talk with my non-Ravens friends and brag about the Ravens and how they can beat this or that team...come game time...they always let me down by losing!  So now, I just keep my mouth shut and I hope for "W's" when they play regardless of who their opponents are.

Off topic. Is there a team Flacco has never beat?

I saw a post awhile back mentioning this. I think he has beaten every team except Seahawks and Packers. Haven't looked into it personally.

Like Drew Brees, Joe Flacco has never defeated the Baltimore Ravens. According to PFF he also has zero wins vs the Seahawks and Packers.

Anyways, if the Ravens lose this game and the Browns leave Atlanta with a win, Baltimore will be back in the basement. It's kind of depressing to think about.

Lol! Brees will win MVP after his historical game.  ;)

Same! We're winless when I start the trash talk with my non-Ravens friends. When I say nothing to little, our record is as good as our home record in recent times.

gorrer? lol but honestly i dont expect our cb's to do anything but upset us this week. our only chance is to win with our front seven, and i think we will do exactly that, i think our pass rush dominates, and our underneath zone coverage takes awway the short passing game, i think brees will be too shaken to face the rush and hurl it downfield and while our cb's will get beaten often, i expect our safeties to be in position to make huge plays with under and overthrown deep balls due to cb's being beaten in a heavy pass rush.

hopefully pees realizes no matter how many people we drop into coverage, brees will pick it apart, our only hope is to bring 5 or more on every snap, and surprise the hell out of breezy, elam or brooks could easily hide behind an OLB and fly into the backfield untouched on a delay, if they show an empty backfield we need to take advantage by sending stunts and delays

Thanks for the info.  However, I responded to a simple question about Elam not a college course on defensive game planning :TVWatchingSmiley:

That is interesting.  I would have imagined a Raiders fan owns that distinction.  I am not superstitious as I used all my spells and can only rely on what stupidity happens in the fourth quarter.

What does Joe Flacco has never defeated the Baltimore Ravens mean????  Don't circle around depression  Thats like taking work home with you and/or being a 76ers fan. Think Positive.

Let's keep the Sixer-fan bashing in the off-topic forum where it belongs. I don't need to see it spread everywhere like this. Haha

Also, he was just mentioning the NFL teams Flacco has never beaten. I'm the conversation about Brees, that's releveant because Brees actually has beaten the team he currently plays for when he used to be a Charger. No depression or weird meaning behind it.

Some around here will swear Flacco HAS beaten the Ravens. If you know what I mean.

I am not that guy.

All with ya. Sixers floor tickets $12??  Typo Brees instead of Flacco in that sentence...The Saints have a formidable defense that no one mentions.  I reviewed their 013 team on Utube and they are quick. They did play Seattle last year for the NFC title.

I knew Packers and should've realized the Seahawks.  Forget what the others teams do.  If the Ravens lose this game, the season's over.

That is how I felt about the second Bengals game (and still do).

When we followed it up with a dumper at PIT it made it a VERY tough roe to hoe this year, especially with PIT, CLE, and CINCY on point. Bottom line is we have our own fate in our hands as we still play many AFC opponents in the hunt. It's not EXACTLY over if we lose tomorrow night, but we obviously couldn't lose any of our remaining games just to have a chance.

The AFC North has been fantastic this year. Truly a remarkable year for the division. We need to win this game, though even if we do I have no idea if we'll be a wild card, division winner, or in the basement. This division is literally the toughest in the NFL and having all four teams with winning records is criminal.

If we lose tomorrow I really believe we'll have to win out to make the playoffs. The good news is our last five all look winnable.. I'd expect to beat San Diego, Jacksonville, Cleveland and Houston (if Mallett is still their QB) with Miami being the toughest of the five.

New Orleans is looking more and more like a must-win game for us. We really have to play our best to win this one; our division is not letting up, and we obviously can't rely on getting any help. We'll have to be 10-6 at worst to make the playoffs this year.

Six games left and we're already being written off by our own fans. At least these are the times we start to do well huh.

At this point.....it really isn't about what any of we "fans" think in here!  It's about what these Ravens "need" to do and "must" do on the field....WIN!  Can they? Yes!  Will they?  Now that remains to be seen doesn't it?
