Got a much needed BYE week. We played much better in the 2nd half. No real complaints from me. Always impressive beating a team coming off their own bye, regardless of who it is.

Also, have we ever lost 3 straight in the Harbs era? Was gonna say something about that before the game but I didn't want any blame if it happened lol

Unable to watch the game. Could someone tell me how the secondary looked? And why was the offense so sluggish, particularly in the passing game?

They looked like trash in the first half, and tightened it up in the second and even got a pick from Danny Gorrer

Secondary looked okay all game, much better in the second half even without Gorrer's garbage time INT.  Kubes looks to have gone into the game wanting to lean it all on Joe and called alot of 5-7 step drops and the offensive line just couldn't protect well enough.  Into the second half I guess he realized it wasn't going to work and started running Justin, Pierce and even LT a lot more which MAGICALLY opened it up a little bit and gave Joe some breathing room and time to start hitting his receivers.

Joe didn't turn the ball over. He had 5 in the past three games and only 3 in 1st six games. Ball security and turnover ratio are key to winning games. Still problems with the team especially early on in the game but they seemed to fix the main problem (pressure on both sides of the ball). Also no one else turned over the ball even though Pierce fumbled. It's back to the Forsett LT show I guess.

2 things: 1) protection issues in both the running and passing games, and 2) that first Titans TD really ate up the clock and didn't give us much time anyway - TOP in the first half was around 2:1 in favor of Tennessee.

The had protection problems? I heard Zuttah had to leave. Were the goats him and monroe(can't get 36 year old james harrison burning him in my mind)?

How were will hill and terrence brooks?

They were incredible. Both made several great plays.

Secondary in general looked better this week. Lot more press and man coverage, lot less zone. Webb got picked on more than Levine and Gorrer.

Everything has kind of gone our way this week.  Can't complain.  Bengals lose, Steelers lose and Dolphins lose.  KC playing the Bills so that's a win win as well.

Zuttah went out towards the end of the game but he came back in.  Actually it was Wagnah that seemed to have the most problems but overall the line was just not cutting the mustard.  They came back stronger in the second half, though.

Well, as upsetting as the news about smith and the last two weeks have been, feels a little better today with the W and with the steelers losing. Hopefully we can get some rest on the bye, fix some things and, just pray that our secondary gains some cohesion together. I'm a little concerned about Flacco though, he looked hesitant throwing the ball today, didn't step into it countless times.

Seems the coaches had the courage to play aggressive schemes and unheralded players, knowing the situation can't get much worse. Still surprised Levine played nickel. Did Webb at least look better than last week?

Slow start to say the least. Flacco got into a better rhythm second half. Protection was horrible first half. Good halftime adjustment by kubes. The worst looking in the secondary was Webb. We need to start a whole lot faster against NO if we wanna win.

Wasn't able to watch the game, but it sounded like D hung in there after an early shot to take control and set the table for offense to get out of their haze and put some points on the board.

Should Harbs be more critical of Kubes' lack of gameplanning early on? The 4th and 1 was gutsy, perhaps a bit reckless, but it still seems like our preparation hasn't helped Joe overcome the blitz very well. Thoughts?

I guess, but he faced lesser competition this week.

Those hits Brooks and Hill were making fired me up!

That should seal it for Elam and Stewart!

Webb still sucks sadly :( I don't feel comfortable with him guarding number 1s?

Terrence Brooks is the future!

Going from GOAT two weeks ago to now the "future". I feel like chalking up the good performance to the fact we were facing Zach Mettenberger,

For now. Assuming the Saints rebound and stomp the Bungles... we won't be in the basement anymore.

It's a competitive division. Steelers lost to the Jets !!!
