Jimmy Smith done for the season

377 posts in this topic

I completely agree. I think it was you who said we plan on more press man. I think they made the moves yesterday knowing Jimmy was done and figured we're going to be doing a lot more blitzing now.

9 on the line 2 back ! LOL.

Sorry if anybody has posted this already (I haven't read the whole thread):

CB corps to start the season:

Jimmy Smith (out for season)

Lardarius Webb (not playing as well as before, limited by back injury early on)

Asa Jackson (IR/return)

Cheeky Brown (waived)

Is Cheeky Brown better than Chykie Brown?  I'll take Cheeky.

Yup browns have a chance to be first place tonite.

So who do we root for tonight? This is tough but I would say Cincy because our only chance(slim)

is a wild card.

or he could be the next webb...

No way webb is small and throws himself at players which caused a lot of inuries throught his career. Jimmy on the other hand is not reckless. He plays smart. His injuries are the same that everyone in the NFl deals with.

There was an article a few days back that asked who could the Ravens least afford to lose, Jimmy or Flacco?  Well I guess we have half of that answer now.

Out of curiousity, haven't all of Jimmy's injuries been foot/ankle injuries?

Pretty sure he had a chest(lung) contusion and was spitting up blood earlier this year.

i could see the team going 9-7 or 10-6 still honestly. We've got the Jags, Titans, and Browns who just got blown out by the Jags down the stretch, add in a sketchy Texans team and a run first dolphins team and the schedule isn't that bad, we could still make the playoffs, we'd have to get super hot on offense and a healthy Asa heading into the postseason, our season isn't completely over yet but it just took a huge blow, and if the team thought it was going to be hard it just got 10x harder, but i really believe this team does better with their backs against the wall. I think we can do it. Gorrer and Jacobs to need to come in and play like they want that starting job, with a little luck maybe they'll be decent. A win against the Saints or Chargers would be nice but they'll need the perfect set of circumstances to have a shot

Neither Suggs nor Lewis were playing particularly well. We had guys to step up like Ellerbe and Kruger.

Who in the secondary has shown they can do that?

We just have to give Gorrer and Jacobs a try. We have no other choice at this point. We will just have to wait and see!

Honestly, I want to hate the FO for not addressing CB depth, but when your TOP 3 CORNERS all have injuries there's really not much you can do.

That said, Chykie Brown and Franks should have never been on the roster. Paying Jacoby Jones while letting Graham walk is proving to be a huge mistake.

Bengles cause they have tiebreaker over us. I'm not rooting for them just expect them to win.

not trying to start anything but how do you know this? this was supposed to be a typical foot injury that now has him out for the year. we thought pitta was fine and dandy... apparently his hip was stronger than ever... now look.

Well Jimmy has been injury prone, webb had two major surgeries and your not gonna keep Graham ??!?!???

I said it when Graham went elsewhere this was the biggest mistake of the offseason.

Bad karma. The whole Ray Rice thing. Losing Pitta and Jimmy Smith on non contact plays arguably outside of the Qb the two players they could afford to lose the least.

Then two Weird flukey losses to the Bengals. Just s bad dream. Bad karma year. Theyll win 3-4 or more games probably 4...but no REAL contender or threat of any kind. On to the draft and picking around 19 or so.

2015 Draft :

Round 1: CB

Round 2: WR

Round 3: CB

Round 4: TE

Round 5: RB

RD 1: WR

RD 2: CB

RD 3: CB

RD 4: CB

RD 4: comp pick? CB

RD 5: CB

RD 6: CB

RD 7: CB

we draft all the CBs worth a grain of salt and our new #1 WR will torch poverty secondaries. Then teams will get desperate and trade the barn for some CBs ...  :268213:

hay, im just sayin, with all this negative talk the season isn't completely over yet, we've still got a shot, not because we are that good but because the rest of our schedule isn't exactly the toughest, and a few of the teams (Titans, Texans, and Dolphins) being run first is a big plus, not saying itll happen just saying its not over until the fat lady sings

All of you that want to tank because one player is out are alley dweelers.  Do you think the entire D feels like you?  NO!     NEXT MAN UP.  Look up North and admire the Patriots who have that team attitude and place the next team member in the mix.  We have 53 and a practice squad.  Someone in our organization has the responsibility to contribute. Now  Coach Spagnoula has to earn his keep.

Not good. Well it's all on the front seven now.

That's right .Sizzle better be sizzlin and Dumervil better be dropping the hammer or we are done.

By the way,I don't see this happening.

Did Baltimore have the cash to give Graham a 4 year 16 million dollar deal, which I think he can earn another 4 million in incentives?

What is an alley dweeler? is that somebody that sells drugs? The patriots are competitive because of one thing - Tom Brady -  he covers up deficiency's.
