[News] Ravens Not Playing In London In 2015

57 posts in this topic

I wouldn't mind seeing the steelers Ravens in London, that might be kind of cool, especially getting back to the rock and stick fights like I believe last Sunday portends. However the PIT BAL games are too valuable and won't be moved over there.

@dorota thanks for the perspective of a fan outside the US. Also, the dolphins have made it a habit to torch the Patriots when they play in Miami. Not everyone plays well in the high humidity, especially early in the year. Baltimore is very humid, this is lost on a lot of people who don't live there. This is why Cal Ripkin's steak in baseball is even more amazing, finding any other oriole to play even an entire season with out a day off is unusual.

I liked the 9am game. And hearing the entire crowd reaction to that big hit was great! I just was wondering why all those seats were taped off for that game. Royal box seats or something?

Thank God. Ravens seem to embarrass themselves on the National stage. We do not need them doing that on the International Stage.

They have not embarrass themselves but so much on a national stage two super bowl titles and a whole bunch of playoff wins show that.

Thats a shame, My brother-in-law over in Germany is a huge Ravens fan. We got him into American football by watching the Ravens play on TV. He and his friends were hoping the Ravens might play in London so they could go to a game. Personally, I am glad the Ravens aren't going to London. I think it takes a lot out of a team. But......I have to say it would have been real cool to see a bunch of German fans all decked out in full Ravens gear shouting things that Arnold Schwarzenegger would. "FLAACCO JA, Get themz, Whaz are you waiting for?!!". Yeah, that would be something to see for sure :) GO RAVENS!

I would not mind if the Ravens would play a game in London. I am from the Netherlands but live in Maryland so I go to games at M&T occasionally, but my dad and brother are huge Ravens fans as well and would love the opportunity to catch a live game in London.

This is a foregone conclusion. Playing in London means giving up a home game, and Bisciotti already said years ago that he wasn't going to take a game away from Baltimore. The Ravens in London arent happening unless something changes or London gets their own team (therefore leaving our home schedule untouched if we were to go).

I have attended the last two international series in London and they have been great. The games are very mixed with jerseys from all the teams and generally played in good banter. I would love to see the Ravens come on over but only as an away game. The home teams are generally the weaker teams having trouble filling/improving their stadiums and are using the games as leverage (Jags poor attendance, Raiders/Miami want out of stadium).

RiseNConquer Just because the Ravens don't want to play away from home doesn't mean they wont come over as an away game playing the likes of Miami, Jags etc. The Jags are over for 2 more years as the Home team with 3 games being played per season. I thought the Bengals could have come over this year as they negotiated thy could play a home game away from their stadium.

Having lived in Europe for 11 years I'd love for the Ravens to rock over there for a game! When I was there I use to watch the Frankfurt Galaxy from the European league for my "American" football fix. The popularity is growing over there and this is a great way to expand the brand.

One day in like 2025, i could see the European football league sending a few teams to join the NFL in the playoffs. the Ravens vs the Belgium Beers. that would be cool.it would put more stock behind "world Champion". But why stop there south America and China needs leagues too. then the Olympics could have it. One day the World will be playing Football..... and Lax too that sports ten times better than baseball.

If goodell screws us out of a "home game" I'll be pissed. It's such a laugher teams play at "home" in england... ugh. The ineptitude of the NFL....whatever point is the NFl shouldn't expand to london it's such a stupid idea.

Teams who can't sell out home games and routinely suffer from blackouts are the ones to play in London. That's what you often see the Jags and Bucs there. They actually make more money abroad than they would at home.

Not that I'm complaining that we don't get to play there, but it looks like only couple of teams are sent there. Like Lions have been there almost every year. What's up with that? Someone hates the Lions much?

Shame, I was really hoping next year the Raven's would come over here. I've had money stashed away just in case for months so was gutted when they announced the games on the news this morning. My friend is a huge Steelers fan(I kicked him out the house after Sundays game) and has been going on about how good it was since he went up last year. We were kinda hoping for a Ravens V Steelers game, it's a 300mile 6 hour drive from where I live in England to Wembley so I didn't want to go and just see any team play. I never knew about the Raven's not being able to play home games elsewhere so I'm really gutted now, how long does that last for? I might have to bite the bullet and come over to Baltimore instead.
