11/4/14 Roster Moves (merged)

I know it's off, but am I the only one wishing we had taken Tyrann Mathieu a few years back....cause we could damn sure use the play making abilities. We are missing that presence.

Terrence Cody activated, Phillip Supernaw cut.

Doesn't that still leave a spot open? we cut Chykie, dropping to 52. Activate Cody to get to 53, but then cut Supernaw to get to 52 again.

Edit: Promoted CB Tremaine Jacobs from the PS to the roster.

PLEASE CUT FRANKS AND SIGN GORRER... might as well revamp the CB corps with the BYE week coming... who knows what could happen... we already know what will happen with Franks.

Front Office took my advice of changes to the secondary a little incorrectly.

I meant add people - not cut people.

You can't do one without the other.

Webb's no where near as bad as Chykie. Also his contract doesn't let us cut him for 3 more seasons.

Webb has a -8 rating in 205 snaps Brown has a -3.9 in 105 snaps according to PFF they're both horrible but Webb has been worse this season. He got smoked all game long on Sunday night

I liked Jacobs this year and this should be a decent indication of his skill. Hopefully he does well and gives us reason to feel better about CB in the off-season. I'm really pulling for him.

You think Webb is more suitable at the nickel spot or at safety as some have mentioned? He's not a starting outside corner anymore, especially against number ones.

Well yes, obviously we'd need to cut people to add to our secondary.  I don't particularly understand why you'd cut guys from our thin and lacking-of-talent secondary in order to fix the secondary though.

I thought they would finally have to cut one of the abundance of average at best safeties we have but we cut Brown instead. I said jokingly when I first read we cut Brown that we could play with 10 men and still be as effective a defense. So addition by subtraction I suppose.

This is ignoring that Webb follows the number one receiver most of the time, when Jimmy isn't healthy. The two times I've seen Brown play the one, it was an embarrassing touchdown. Can't just go by PFF

Hmmm Tramain Jacobs over Danny Gorrer is interesting but he does know the system alot better. Now we only have two tightends unless you want to count Juice as one to be the third.

From what I read on Twitter, Tramaine was impressive in TC but ended up relegated to the PS.

I think sending a message.

You play like crap you're gonna get cut, regardless of how thin we are at the position. Nobody's job is safe at this point.

Yea.. Agree with this..

Kinda a message to roll into upcoming bye week with..

Because team will have to be on point right after bye

Yeah I heard about that but I would have prefered Danny Gorrer over him. It would have gave us more size at the cornerback position and we probably could have moved Webb to the nickel while Gorrer could cover on the outside. Hopefully Jacob is good.

Danny is 6' @ 180 and Jacobs is 5'11 @ 182. Not much difference between them. Jacobs might even be stronger since he's heavier than Danny and he's an inch shorter.

i want gorrer simply for depth and i think 99% of the fan base was rooting for danny gorrer to become something special. i mean we have an abundance of safetys that wouldn't make some peoples practice squads and we play them at corner... Lets revamp the entire seconday with the bye coming up.

That was a pretty embarrassing touchdown against Wheaton that Webb gave up. Isn't Wheaton their 3rd best receiver?

No, their two. Bryant is their three

I thought he was shorter than that but Gorrer is a more proven outside corner than Jacobs. I have no clue what Jacobs provides as a cover corner but hopefully The Ravens made the right decision.

I liked Gorrer when he was here because he played with discipline and sound technique.

can't we just cut Franks and pick up Gorrer ?

Not going to happen. It seems quite unreasonable to have two fairly new cornerbacks start in a game. I know Gorrer been a Ravens before but it's been about 3 years since he has been on our team.
