Official Vent Thread Steelers

That is the equivalent of posting a Dallas news article for a fair judge on the cowboys.

Didn't know the Washington Times was Raven-homerville but I provided the article with direct quotes from the actual WRs in the room saying he's been an awesome teacher and role model.

Do you have anything to refute it?

That QB run on the 3 and 2 killed us, it was clear as day they didn't make it and his knee was down

How do you know Steelers don't go for it on 4th and six inches?

Well, thanks to the mis-call from the refs we'll never find out now will we?

Steve Smith Sr. is #10 among receivers and sliding as teams learn how to shut him down. He had just 36 yards against the Steelers. and not many more against the Bengals. No other Raven receiver is in the top 50. Torrey S at #63 and Owen D at #77 is too wide of a gap between Steve Smith and the rest. The team has to adapt when Steve is having, not so good of a day.

Sure- but if that BS penalty wasn't thrown in the Bungels game, SSS adds 80 more yards to his reception yards.

flag was thrown and the Cinci games over, but just saying......

Who cares, this team looks like an 8 and 8 team at best. Nothing was done to sure up the damned secondary. Franks and Brown will continue to hurt rather than help. Webb is nothing of his former self and to think the Ravens are paying him 10 million a year.

Well I said many months ago that letting Corey Graham go and not giving him a deal to stay was a huge mistake

with Webb coming back from another major injury(looks like he's done) and Jimmy Smith injury prone.

I hate how the play of the secondary took away how well our front 7 was playing early in the game. We have the best front 7 in the league and maybe on par w/ Jets secondary minus Jimmy. smh..

It was always going to be tough to win this game as everything was pretty much stacked against us. That said, obvious holes in this team were glaringly apparent last night and there aren't any quick fixes(other than playing lesser opponents). The hope is that Jimmy is ready to go after the bye, as well as Camp. Others will definitely need to improve/develop to have any shot at the playoffs.

I know it's not "fashionable" to talk about zebras, but if you couldn't see the obvious bias in this game you're just ignoring it. There's no way of knowing if a fairly called game would have made a difference, but regardless, it's hard to take.

Your posts are the kind I don't get. Of course, its okay to complain about refs. Most fans think the calls go against them. Yesterday, some questionable calls didn't go your way. However, on one of our early possessions, Webb broke up a key third down play with a hit that was too early…a missed PI. I saw our guys held at the line a few times. I saw our receivers grabbed a  couple times…and the calls weren't made.  But my real point is this…calls went against your team yesterday and suddenly its a conspiracy? The NFL or the Refs are against the Ravens and for the Steelers? This is where it gets way over the top. Then why, coming into this game were the Steelers the most penalized team in the league and the Ravens one of the least? And thats not just this year. The Steelers were one of the most penalized and fined teams during their super bowl runs. (I know, I know, those were good calls and the Steelers were dirty.) Complaining about refs is one thing…conspiracy theories takes it to a twilight zone level.

Not sure why some of the emphasis is getting placed on the refs. Don't get me wrong, I caught myself yelling at the refs mostly on the OPI and the marking of the Ben QB sneak, but we played bad. The defense didn't help with those extra 15 yards every time they wanted to renew the rivalry.

As a MMA fan, I've seen people dominate a fight, go to the judges, and they lose. We should have done enough, so it wasn't left up to the refs.

Ozzie's been messing up a lot, the only good picks I can remember are Jimmy and Mosley

Lol.. Guess you missed that rookie LG who started for us...

And that rookie RB who has done decently well (yes I know he fumbled last night)

Camp was starting to look real good before his minor setback.. He'll be back and hopefully will build on that

Corckett gillmore has played very well in his role

could even say brent urban looked pretty good before his injury

The past 3 drafts have led to good players its just that none of them are at real impact positions. They are more of the dirty work guys. For example Upshaw, KO, Brandon Williams, Jernigan, Wagner, Juicecheck all have looked good in time provided but they aren't in the key play making spots.

I will say this, the play action pass to Crocket Gilmore for the TD on the 1 yard line was executed perfectly.  Too little too late.

Dude is 6'6 and should be used a lot more in the middle and RZ. We finally have someone tall and we barely use him.

McPhee, KO, Upshaw, B Williams, Rick Wagner, Juice, Crockett and Urschel are all playing pretty well for us right now. Jernigan looking to become a contributor.

Pierce, Asa, Lewis-Moore, Jensen, Urban and Campanaro all looking good before sidelined with injuries.

And that's just the last three years. You win some, you lose some with the draft

100% Agree. When is baltimore going to get their STAR on O?

Possibly the worst officiated game I have ever witnessed.

Add the Ravens turnovers and horrific secondary and there was no chance to come away with a win.

The secondary has to get better or the season is over. The OL got whooped. I think the DL played pretty well, but our LBs git exposed in coverage.

I was so excited when Torrey caught the TD pas and Joe shut up the Steeler fans.

The D was great in the first quarter. We looked like a winner.

Then the game happened.

Where are their heads? Is this a coaching thing?

The refs were awful and biased.

It seems good and great teams get above this and MAKE plays.

 We did not.

Stay tuned.

Agree. All we can do is hope. The Ravens have a lot of things to fix, but they ARE a talented team and a well built team. So I really just was speaking out to those that are too immature to have decent debate. But maybe I misunderstand the use of a forum. Maybe it really is just a way to say "cut this person", "this person sucks", "fire so and so", etc without any regard for personal accountability of what you say. Maybe I too shall join the people who post on this forum DURING the game...instead of watch it...only to then rant without truly thinking.

It is just sad when it is almost as satisfying to throw a Super Bowl win (or win in general) in the face of your OWN fans as it is opposing team fans.

Go Ravens!

While I agree with what you are saying my only difference would be that for them to be a "talented" and "well built" team...that side of them is rarely seen; like when they are playing what most would consider to be the mediocre or below-tier teams in the league imo.  But, when it comes to the upper-tier teams such as the Colts, Bengals etc., and the big lights (i.e. primetime television) this "talented" and "well built" team plays like bottom feeders!  And forget the injury excuses cause all teams are banged up around this time!  And sure, the Ravens demolished Pittsburg on a Thursday night primetime game but let's keep it real!  They were highly motivated for that win due to all of the news about Rice etc.

Now that all of that is in their rear view mirror...to be totally and brutally honest....what have they really accomplished?  By no means am I throwing them or our season under the bus.  I'm pissed!  Mainly, cause I keep seeing the same thing from our team from week to week and others seem to be alright with it!  I'm not!  That's not my nature, character or temperament.

The secondary playing terrible was to be expected. The offense doing nothing against arguably worse corners is what boggles my mind. We made William Gay looked like Deion Sanders in his prime. Think about it. Their #1 corner was out due to injury (Ike Taylor). Their #2 was benched. They started William Gay and some guy nobody ever heard of before yet the Smith brothers couldn't get open. Something is very wrong with that.

Dropping back 15 yards and getting drilled by a retired guy isnt working...why not? I thought mean joe greene might jump in on that action and take some pot shots..like someone alluded to Cant Camerons offense is still haunting them...run, run, sack, punt...

We keep hearing for years that there is a commitment to the run when there clearly is none. It seems the run is merely a cheap ploy so we can do what we really want to do.

if there was a commitment, you would see us running the ball on 3rd and 3/4 because we believe that we can.

Mili....

Another member pointed this out to me...  He said... We beat the Steelers in Baltimore by 20 in September.  They beat us in Pittsburgh in November by 20...  It's not the end of the world...

And while I might agree that all teams are banged up around this time, there aren't many that are missing the "key" players that we are.  I.E., the worst thing that could have happened was to lose Jimmy last week.  We knew our back end was going to get gashed by the teams that we had to play.....  On a happier note, both Will Hill and Matt Elam had decent nights last night, considering.

I always try to find the silver lining....  and yes, truth be told, there always is one....  We have lots of things to fix.  And so do other teams....  and there are 7 more games left.  We have all but concluded our AFC North romp...  with only Cleveland the very last game.  We get to sit back and watch them play each other...  Meanwhile....  We have the Dolphins, who exposed San Diego, who we have as well....  We have the Titans and we have the Saints, that haven't looked great either.

Good news is there is still time...  And the other AFC North teams, as they play each other????  One of them will have to lose each time they play as well.

You have never heard of William Gay????  He's been back there a couple of years... and he has been their starter on the other side of Ike for a while.....

Reread my post. I said I never heard of the other starting corner. The one Torrey beat for the TD.

It seems like half the time, torry is running a deep route to simply clear out the middle of the field as if he is not at all an option.

Is it a coincidence that three pretty productive receivers have gone radically down hill in production this year? (Smit,Jones and Brown)

Just so sick of the inconsistency of ref calls - not blaming them for the loss - there's much more material than just refs.  Suggs, what were you thinking?  Jones, thank you for that beautiful return, 108 yards!  Corey Smith - great catch!  Our secondary, are we that weak that we appear to be playing a prevent defense:  Steeler receivers open all over the place!  Flacco, you didn't see that defender (like last week)?  We are beating ourselves!  Seven games to go, can we win seven, sure we can!  Just do it Ravens!

I know all of this Gene and I agree.  However, I am not blind to the fact that the bleeding we're seeing from week to week needs to be stopped!

Were just a bad team simple as that. Tired of hearing all these excuses, id be surprised if we make the playoffs. Saints, Chargers, Dolphins and Browns with Josh Gordon are going to be tough.
