Mettenbeger can hit open receivers so it will not be so easy.

I actually liked Mettenberger a lot coming out of college because he reminded me so much of Flacco: Big arm, not much mobility, and had Cam Cameron as his OC. He would have been a good pick as a backup to replace Tyrod for his similarities to Flacco, but unfortunately he was selected just a few picks before Wenning.

I don't think this'll be close. If we can hold the Falcons (and yes I know we had Jimmy Smith that game) to just one touchdown, I think we'll be fine with the Titans. They're the 20something ranked offense AND defense.

We're at home. With the exception of the Bengals game, we've played exceptionally well at home this year. We dominated the Steelers, we dominated the Panthers, we dominated the Falcons. I see no reason why this wouldn't happen here. I predict we'll get enough pressure on the rookie QB that even with a leaky secondary, we won't give up many if any big plays. I predict Flacco will have a rebound game in which he throws for three or four TDs, and our rushing attack will control the clock.

The Saints will be tough, but I think they'll also be manageable, especially if we get Jimmy Smith back by then.

I wouldn't want to be the titans coming to the Bank after the Ravens losing two division road games.

Going to this game, can't wait to tailgate some...Anyways the Ravens should win this easy but in today's NFL, its not.

I expect a 31-17 Ravens win.

Who is the new DC then?

I was told by several people on these boards that Spagnuolo should replace Pees as DC as recent as September/October.

Boy does that seem laughable at this point. That would be like replacing Caldwell with Castillo last offseason...

i honestly don't care, let someone take over the interm and fire the whole staff in the offseason (minus the DL LB coach)

Yeesh... that would certainly classify as a gross overreaction (and obviously not a realistic option).

That's the sort of thing that happens when you go like 4-12 for multiple consecutive years. Not really something the Ravens have to worry about.

yeah it is, but I'm frustrated right now. hey I don't think its that unrealistic. We had a clean sweep on offense, Jim Caldwell got a head coaching job being ranked 29 on offense.

We didn't have a clean sweep on offense... we lost our OC to a voluntary coaching decision, and he took a small handful of guys with him. That's not a firing. If he doesn't get offered that Lions job, he's probably the OC right now, and the majority of the offensive staff is still here.

yeah, but that's not why he got the job in Detroit. It was his whole body of work, mainly as a HC in Indy.

Right now it looks like him taking Austin with him hurts way more than losing Caldwell himself. Still, just one guy.

I know that, I know he didn't get fired. A clean sweep regardless, we have a new staff and its improved.  And I hope for the same thing on the defensive side. I didn't know I had to be so specific.

Honestly, with the changes at the CB position, I'm super curious to see if we bang, bust, or somewhere in between.  I feel like the potential for imimdiate impact is good, but this was definitely a playoff decision

I didn't have access to my cell phone or any kind of communication and missed the coaching changes this past off-season but I thought we let Hostler, Montgomery, Moeller and Harman go? I could've sworn we fired Montgomery. I could be mistaken but I know Montgomery went to the Browns, Hostler to the Bills, Harman to the Falcons and Moeller did indeed follow Caldwell to the Lions but that's one guy who followed Caldwell, not a "small handful of guys," at least not on offense.

Primarily just a trickle-down effect of hiring a new OC. Much like when you hire a new HC, he's got a core group of guys he likes to work with and they typically travel together. I personally don't put that much weight into assistant coaches, because I don't think they have nearly the impact on actual NFL production on the football field as many fans seem to think. Frankly, until Cam Cameron got fired, fans on here didn't care about assistant coaches either. But because Cam got fired, fans decided that the solution to every problem in any unit is to fire the coach thats associated with it, which I find extremely short-sighted.

A guy like Kubiak, who coaches a certain scheme, isn't going to just agree to work with people he doesn't want to work with. That's the kind of thing you might expect when you promote somebody internally, but not when you go outside the org to find a high profile hire.

Well, you sort of do, because there's really only two likely options for Pees to no longer be the DC... he voluntarily leaves for another job, or he gets fired.

Given that the overall defense isn't really poor enough to warrant a firing, and given that I don't suspect he will be fielding calls as a potential HC candidate, I think him being retained is most likely. If he's retained, then he's likely to retain a lot of the assistants that he helped choose, particularly when neither of them appears to be in-line for a new gig either.

Joe is going to throw 7TDs to get the monkey off his back and our defense will beat up the rookie QB with few fumbles and INTs. Jacoby is so pissed off that he will score 2 TDs: 1 from Punt and the other from KR.

Ravens fans will be chaos and loud enough to break the opponents' eardrums!.....

PS: Still pissed off that Steve's TD was called back in Cindy game or we should come out with 1-1.....

Guys, we're the Ravens.  The chances of us beating them 52 - 0 is just as great as them beating us 52 - 0, though I think slightly greater in our favor bc Joe Cool is at home.

Jokes aside, we're an inconsistent team, and that's what happens when you're inconsistent.  You lose some unexpected ones, but we're also a good team and beat teams perceived as better than us.  Hopefully, on Sunday we beat a worse team.  #1 Concern is our secondary, outside of them, our offense will be good at home, and our defense will hold them to little/no rushing.

We haven't beat one good team yet. And despite what people say about our defense, the offense coughed the ball up twice giving them great field position that resulted in 14 points. Said offense then waited til I think 4th quarter until they decided to score another td.

The week before this game wasn't there an article stressing the importance of limiting turnovers? After all that, they do it on back to back drives? Good to see these improvements Harbaugh speaks of on a week to week basis.

I'm going to keep it real here Tank!  I would want to be the Titans coming to the bank after those 2 losses cause the Ravens just dropped 2 in a row and are at the bottom of their division.  Plus, there is the weight to get a victory before their bye.  We've (Titans) also seen the film; the Ravens secondary has been exposed!  Their weak!  Also, the left side of their O-line is weak and we all have seen how Flacco gets incredibly flustered when you bring the heat and stay in his face!  As for their receivers?  No worries!  The Ravens WR's can't seem to beat the press or get open!  So, I'd love coming into the bank at this time with a solid game plan to wreck havoc cause I'd smell blood in the water!  But that's me!  That's how I think brah!  Hopefully, the Ravens will stand up and be the "bullies" that they should be against a team like the Titans.  Time will tell!

I agree with you Mili on the weaknesses(except for Flacco, he's always done pretty well under duress, but any QB can only take so much!). But we just played 4 of 5 games on the road in hostile environments with two consecutive losses to division opponents. These guys are going to be hungry for the win and the home cookin' will do them good. Let's see what they are made of!

Flacco is horrible under pressure imo.  And as you mentioned, most QB's would be except Flacco appears to be mentally out of his game when that happens.  He even mentioned that in his presser about that pick he threw vs. the Steelers.  Not bashing him!  Just stating it as I see it!  It's getting old to see him play well at home and then like trash on the road against good teams.  And defensively, I don't see the heart of a lion (in the spirit of Ray Lewis) out there!  Suggs, Doom, Ngata are good players but no Ray Lewis or Ed Reed!  Something is missing from that side of the rock and they need to fix it fast!  Now, the Titans aren't the best squad coming to town either so not pubbing them up over the Ravens.  And yet, IF the Ravens beat them, what does that solve?  Oh!  You can beat inferior teams?  Well, let's beat them and move on to 6-4 and hit the bye week for need rest, relaxation and rejuvenation!  Oh!  And then there's the Saints (on the road) waiting in the wings!  Ugh!

Thats hysterical. You dont care. You are so emphatic about firing Pees, you dont care who replaces him.

Okay send me in there then. Two or three more embarrassing losses and you will be begging for me to get fired and bring Pees back.

SMH.

Okay I know how many people around here see the Browns, but what about Pittsburgh? Baltimore beat them in the first matchup.

Our coach (Ray Lewis) leaves and now we can't win a game. How soon until we start looking at Harbaugh?
