Week 9 - Baltimore Ravens (5-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3)

3,500 posts in this topic

Waiting to fly in to Pittsburgh for this. Seeing Steelers gear in more concentrated amounts. I'm getting nervous about this one.

Let's get the win, and get our season back on track. If I recall, we had similar stakes in last year's repeat fixture.

So it's pretty much confirmed that the loser here will be in last place. When was the last time were we ever in last place? What a shame.

Fully expect Cleveland and cincy to win pretty easily.

Definitely need a W tonight

Well, seems like neither of them did us the huge favor of losing an easy game tonight.

So, this is gonna be a HUGE game for either team tonight.

So, the game hasn't even starteed - and you've already had us lose it?

Really?

I'm worried about this game because of how crucial it is that we come out with the W. If we lose this one, I cant see us making the playoffs even though i think we are good enough. I think whats important is that we get going on offense first and foremost. no slow starts please!

It's possible but it would be difficult. We'd have to finish no worse than 5-2.

With the ineptitude and lack of help we saw from both Jax and TB today it is absolutely clear the path to the postseason is squarely in our hands tonight much like last year toward the end of the season. This won't be a popular position on the board today, but while I will be rooting us on and hoping for a victory tonight, I am bracing myself for the worst. We won or lost 9 out of 16 games last year by 3 points or less, and are merely 2 games over .500 since our SB 47 victory, at some point something has to give - either we rise to take control or wallow in mediocrity.

Unfortunately, I really do think we are catching Pittsburgh at the wrong time in terms of our lack of personnel and their team momentum. Many on here will argue the NFL is a week to week proposition and it's a division game so it will be close, and ya I do get that, but it has been too long since Pitt has really stuck it to us and something tells me that they are relishing doing it to us tonight.

Bottom line: I see a Pitt victory at Heinz field 34-20. Course, I thought we'd beat a wounded Cincy team last week in Cincy and was wrong about that...hoping I'm especially wrong about this week for sure.

True, and worst of all losing would put us 1 game above .500 since the SB victory. Ouch.

True, last year we beat the Steelers as part of our late season 4 game win streak to give us a shot at the postseason only to crap the bed the last two weeks - at home against the Pats and on the road against Cincy.

Hope we find a way to overcome our injuries and their momentum so you can see less annoying towel waving! Safe travels and go Ravens!

Not even concerned with that honestly. I'm concerned though that 11 out of 16 AFC teams are above .500 so we're in pretty dire straits with a loss tonight.

The only hope is that some of these teams are in our schedule (SD, MIA, CLE) so we can knock them down ourselves.

The pressure on the Ravens and Steelers players/coaches to win this one is off the charts. 3 1/2 hours from game time and I am already nervous. lol Hope we pull off a win. Have fun y`all. Go Ravens!

Who do you all think is under more pressure tonight?

Steelers, momentum from last game and home field and pressure to continue from last week while the Ravens is expected to be revved up and angry from last week's lost.

Good feeling about this game..... Will Hill steps up and tightens the secondary. Joe, Smitty and Forsett have HUGE games. Just a feeling.
