After Watching The Cowboys Game Again..

15 posts in this topic

I've noticed that when we only rush 2-4 people we only get pressure off the edges and our inside rushers back off and stay towards the LOS.

Gives the QB way too much time and room to step up in the pocket.

Gets a little annoying because when I watch the Steelers and Titans play they constantly have pressure up the middle with their lineman.

Yeah, I'm watching the replay right now, and it's not very encouraging. T.O. dropped two touchdown passes, and Romo missed a wide open Miles Austin who would've scored easily. Furthermore, I've seen like five fumbles, and our line did nothing to protect Flacco in the first half; we've gotten nearly every lucky break.

We still have major, major holes in our secondary, and the offense can't really sustain a drive against a good defense. We still dominated the game for the most part, but Dallas easily could've come away with the win.

It's mostly just Ivy - the guy has been smacked on every single ball thrown his way. Washington/Rolle are doing pretty well in coverage, but Ivy/Oglesby are trash all around, Reed doesn't really man anyone, and Leo is only useful as a utility man. We WILL have major problems against a quality quarterback in the playoffs.

I don't mean to be a revisionist, but DeAngelo Hall would've been such a sweet pickup.

Didn't have you down for a comedian, Ravenet.

Oh come on, he's been playing pretty well in Washington. Even if Hall does walk after this season, he'd have been an improvement over Washington and probably Rolle as well.

He'd be an improvement over Walker and Ivy. Washington has been doing pretty good when he's on the field. Needs to learn to wheel in those ints though.

Washington has been solid for the past 3-4 games, but before that he was pretty iffy.

I know for a fact that if Landry/CMac/Kelly were all healthy, we wouldn't have to worry about teams driving late in the game. We'd have the best defense in the NFL, especially with guys like Washington, Leo, JJ, Bannan, McClain, and Barnes coming off the bench. We're lucky our offense is as healthy as possible at this juncture in the season.
Yeah Kelly and Ngata could put pressure on the line by themselves.
Suggs/Pryce would easily get double digit sacks if Kelly/Ngata were both healthy. Whereas Jarret is quick, and therefore attacks the quarterback, Kelly is content with merely eating up two guys and letting others get to the QB.

Ngata/Kelly alone eat 3-4 linemen; with two other Ravens rushing, the other team pretty much always has to max protect, meaning that Reed/Landry could roam around and ballhawk as CMac/Rolle, who are already intimidating enough, would get some linebacker help from Bart. Wow...

I would not go that far Washington has played much better then Hall. When Hall left the Raiders he was the worst CB and had givin up the most yards.

I think Hall would be a big step down from Washington. Hall tends to get burned pretty bad deep, while Washington usually runs with the reciver and knocks the ball away.

He's been great for the Redskins since the pickup; Hall is going to kick Rogers out of town.

Just seems like all of the Raiders cornerbacks play better when out of Oakland. Moss' years with Oakland was probably the worst years of his life. Imagine when Aso gets out of there will he be that much better?

I think Hall just needed to be put in a good defense for him to strive. Im still a little mad we didn't get him exspecially for how little the skins got him for. I guess we're just lucky to have 2 adept cornerbacks still on our lineup this late into the season but 3.... I think our D would be able to put alot more pressure on the QB
