Bengals aren't even that good. Lets not fool ourselves. They played most of the game without their top 2 LBs and No Marvin Jones or A.J. They got whomped by the pats, struggled against the Panthers and got whomped by the Colts.

Bottom line to me is that we just don't finish games off well when we need to.  So far we've only lost to Indy and Cincy, and both  Cincy games came down to the last 5 minutes or so of play and we were still in it.  I think we're a good team, not a great one, we can't finish, and we don't have many clutch options on offense or defense, especially with Jimmy out - at the end of games like that you need to have guys who can catch clutch passes and guys who can defend big plays - we have one of each, Steve and Jimmy, and they're not always in position to make those plays.

The only reason the Cincy games were close was because they aren't good enough to capitalize on our imcompentance.

If we played like that against a real team we'd get absolutely destroyed.

Great against trash teams, trash against great teams.

That's how I see it as well.

I was just about to say if the Bengals aren't that good...what does that say about this Ravens squad?  But then again, Harbaugh did say that the Ravens are good enough just yet.  They proved that today!  Their game to win...and they lose it!

O Line - B - Not consistently dominant. Good enough but not great.

RB's - A-. Not much more to say. Overall they're great but they've had some minor miscues.

WR's - C-. This would be a D if not for Steve Smith.

QB - B+. Not dominant but not singlehandedly costing us game. Also, he is constantly held back by his receivers.

Offensive Coordinator - A. Doing the best he can with what he has.

D Line - C+. Not playing up to expectations, simply put.

Pass Rush - C+. Not playing up to expectations.

LB's - B. They aren't a weak point, but they could be better.

CB's - C on a curve. They get a small curve because Webb is coming back from injury. Jimmy is great, Webb is solid, but nobody else is doing well.

Safeties- D+. Lotta room for growth and improvement.

D Coordinator - B-. Held back a lot by his personnel but he is far from perfect.

Returners - F

ST Coverage - B+

P - B

K - A

ST Coordinator - B+

Head Coach - B+

Overall, I'd give the Ravens a low B. Playing poorly in several areas, and nobody is dominant. This team is good enough. We'll go 9-7 or maybe 11-5 if we fix some things quick.

My preseason prediction still stands as we missed a major opportunity today to prove me wrong, BUT:

"Although the running game looked much improved this preseason, and Kubs likes ball control, I am still not confident in the defense to win close ones, or generate turnovers for offensive opportunities. Again, burden will be on offense to put defense in better position by jumping out to a lead and maintaing it; something it failed to do last year.

Like last year it comes down to the last game of the season to win a wild card birth. Thankfully, it's at home against the Browns. At that time we'll be playing their starter Johnny Goofball ™ lol, so I do like our chances to win and go 10-6. If we lose the game we go 9-7 and watch playoffs from the couch. It is going to be an up and down season as defense is still a work in progress. The team will look a bit rocky for a stretch or two, but manage to hang in there with guts, talent, and thankfully coaching this year. Go Ravens!"
