Official Vent thread vs Bengals

592 posts in this topic

Welp..I never thought we were gonna win the division (maybe next year?). BUT....let's keep in mind that Cincy has yet to play the rest of the division. They also have to play the Broncos and travel to the Saints (just like we do). That can help us.....or hurt us.

Even if the Ravens win the SB this year, getting swept by a banged up, slightly-above-average Bengals team should still bother any Ravens fan.

The Ravens got jobbed, yes, but Flacco basically handing the Bengals 10 points in the 3rd quarter and Harbaugh leaving 3 points on the field once again is what really screwed us.

I think Ozzie is responsible for our three losses because in each one of them, Graham would've greatly improved our secondary defense and that's exactly how we lost those three games. Ozzie things he can always be cute with letting guys go and he's proven to be extremely smart. I even have him the benefit of the doubt and thought it was a good move to let Graham go. It's clear that was a mistake. Graham could've replaced Webb and we could've let Webb go next year and had a secondary of Graham and Smith. Now that won't happen and Webb is hurt and more returning from injury and may never be the same player he was. At this point he's very overpaid.

The thing that really bothers me is how well Graham is playing up in Buffalo. He's playing out of his damn mind right now and that contract he got is really low for how well he's playing.

And probably Defensive Pass interference as well.

Maybe, I'm not sure about that. I'll need to watch it again. Whether or not it was offsetting or not is debatable, but it was definitely OPI. The safety sold the push and that's what the refs saw. Can't blame him.

Yeah. I think a huge part of this loss is on Ozzie Newsome. I know he didn't play and the players failed and the coaches too but what a dumb move. Let Graham walk when we have an injury prone CB who's paid a huge salary.

How many plays did Hill get? Any? Didn't notice him at all. Stewart and Elam are not good. Brooks...horrible coverage on Sanu last drive, no clue where ball was.

On the bright side, we're 5-3. Remember, we were 10-6 when we won it all. Should the PI on Steve have been called? no. But we should have had this game in the bag, and just like week 1 missed opportunities killed us.

Breaking News- According to AP reports from the post game locker room, Marvin Lewis stated "We played great on all phase, offense, defense, special teams, but this game ball goes to a team that stay focus, who was there when we needed them the most. This game ball goes out to Clete Blakeman and his officiating crew." Clete accepted the game ball on behalf of today's officiating crew. According to other sources, several Bengals players, when returning to the locker room stated. "Check is in the mail. Baby, the check is in the mail"

Show me a source on this. I'd really like to see that source.

It is incidental contact. They ran into each other. It would not have been a call either which way.

I don't care if it is incidental or not, it should have been called. I mean if that is how people want to call it, then couldn't a defender just run into WRs all day and claim that they didn't see them? I mean if Flacco went somewhere else that is one thing but Flacco went there with anticipation of Torrey being there and he wasn't because he got hit, that should be enough to get the call, especially if they are going to get ticky tack with the Mosley call. If you don't think it would have been, then show me the rule in the rulebook where it says slamming into a WR on accident is okay.

To my understanding The Ravens were interested in bringing Graham back but the bills offered more money not only that but  where the Buffalo Bill are located is much closer to his home town. Alot of players like to play closer to home as well as get paid good money and etc.

Sorry but good refs let em play in a close game. You think they would have called that nonsense in a playoff game??

Never. Both were fighting for the ball.

I PROMISE you that it wouldn't bother me at all. In fact, I would hope Bengals fans would talk smack to us if we won the Super Bowl.

We're still in second place until we play the Steelers. And I picked us to go 10-6 for a wildcard spot before the season so we'll see.

You can fight to keep a player.

The combo of our loss and Pitt blowing out Indy does not look good. Our season just went to from in control to looking at 3rd place very soon. Hate to admit it.

Sorry I'm not much for sarcasm at the moment.

If it was real - oh the uproar!

It's just one loss. Need to beat the Steelers next week so they're hungry & help us out in their 2 match ups with the Bengals.

I don't disagree that you let them play. Just saying it was the right call. I wouldn't have thrown the flag but he was right to throw it.

I guess a positive thing I can take from this game is that we have yet to lose by more than a possession. I believe we're 0-3 when the opponent scores first. Go figure....

The guy flopped but it's still offensive PI.

If Flacco put it in front of Smith Sr then he probably doesn't initiate contact.

this angle does make it look like he is grabbing him by the jersey, im trying to find the other angle that was shown in the replays that shows that smith didnt grab ahold of the jessy and only brushed the defensive player

You see these plays every week...  no flag... hardly ever...  it was a ridiculous call for a game changing play...

Yup... This is all Ozzie's fault.    :34853_shakehead:

As he is the GM everything relating to a lack of talent losing games is his fault so yeah.

Agree with this entirely. While OPI to the letter of the law it wasn't flagrant and you could of called a DPI so in that situation you have to just let it go.

There was a call that the refs missed at our 4th and 2 that would have given us a 1st down... Harbs tried to get it, but was ignored.

Honestly... If it was Mohammed Sanu running the pass pattern and Lardarius Webb falling to the turf... how many people would thing a flag would be the wrong call?  How many fans would say, "Just let them play" if Sanu had scored?

predict Ravens lose to Steelers ,Browns win their next 2 and we are tied for last in division ! this team is soft, no one can stay healthy.. only winning teams we have played have made us look pathetic !!!  maybe being in last will light a fire in some of these heartless players..but I wouldn't count on it....also I've always been a Flacco supporter but its getting really old watching his erratic play. He doesn't make his receivers better, he just throws it up and prays someone makes a play.  D.Pees gotta go after this year, watching this bend don't break crap sucks..What happened to dominate feared D..OK done venting,..for now..lol..gotta go cancel my trip to Miami..why waste the money
