Official Vent thread vs Bengals

Pierce, Elam, Smith (Daryl, AND Torrey), trade them. We need a WR other than Steve and Camp who isn't a complete wussy. These Wideouts are soft, Joe was actually buying time in the first half and nobody got open for him. We need a corner and we need one badly. this Rotating safety garbage is stupid.

The guy flopped but it's still offensive PI.

If Flacco put it in front of Smith Sr then he probably doesn't initiate contact.

That was a reputation flag if that. Complete BS. Any ref worth their salt knows you shouldnt decide the game.

let em play.

That was a team loss. The Bengals fans are blaming injuries, but I think our in-game ones made that a wash. Average play-calling, defensive meltdown, bad plays from everyone - blame the refs all you want but it wasn't their fault the WRs quit on their routes, Aiken dropped a TD or our DBs missed critical tackles.

What else can you do from here but move on and hope the Bengals drop a couple down the line.

Feel free to keep your purple shades on.  He grabbed the guy around his pads and pushed him back.

I don't care if he falls or not, thats offensive PI.

I like my shades just fine.  Whatever.  Shouldn't have been called.  Also, I'm angry.  Sorry :(

Can someone please explain to me...why is it when we get the lead in a game, it's 4th quarter and we resort to the prevent defense/zone defense?  There's only 3 or 4 guys on the line, which means everyone else should be downfield stop the pass.  Except, it doesn't work and the other team always marches downfield and scores.  Exactly what happened with bengals today.  Why did we not have more guys on the line to pressure dalton?

I hate to put a loss on the refs but the noncall for PI on Torrey is getting to me. They threw a ticky tack call on Mosley the drive before and then took points off on the Steve offensive PI but they couldn't call that? I am sorry but that is just ridiculous and had they called that, it is 3 points off the board and we are playing in OT right now.

Didn't see the pick 6 cuz work called. But - only one other throw was on Joe & that was the desperation one to the flat. Smith Sr gave up on a route. Torrey got taken out of a route. Aiken dropped a TD he should have had.

Plus questionable play calling on 2nd & 2 and 3rd & 2 of two bombs. With Torrey off the field even. Not smart.

Every single deep ball was overthrown (except the one to Smith at the end of the game).  I didn't agree with the play calls to throw it deep, but he failed to connect every single time he threw it deep.

dude he had two active corners. what is he supposed to do in that situation?

Play press with franks.  There is absolutely no point in what we were playing.  Make them beat the coverage even if it is bad coverage.  It is better than just giving it to them.

Jacoby Jones needs to be done. And I was done with Torrey Smith weeks ago, I wasn't fooled by his games against the Bucs and Falcons.

We can beat the Bengals. We just need a new DC. One who isn't afraid.

We can?  Since when?  The Ravens lost their last game of last season to the Bengals.  The Bengals came to Baltimore on open day of this season and beat the Ravens and now today; in Cinci, the Bengals beat the Ravens...again.  The Ravens are 0-3 in their last 3 contests with the Bengals.  They can't beat them!  For whatever reason...they just can't beat them!  UNTIL the Ravens do beat'em...that is where it stands as of now!

He clearly pushed him.  I mean.  I don't know what you guys are seeing lol.

That call was correct. Steve Smith threw the guy to the ground. Flop or not, its offensive PI.

Please name another game with a minute left where that is called in a close game. Both were interfering.

If the shoe was on the other foot you all would have been saying it was clear PI.

Stop blaming this on the refs. This loss is on Joe for his horrendous throws, the receivers for not getting open at all during the game, the defense for their horrendous coverage, and the special teams for being a sieve.

You guys sound like Steelers fans sitting around blaming the refs. Its embarrassing.

Ravens are 5-3.

They beat the Steelers next week they are 6-3.

I'm more concerned about Jimmy Smith than anything else righ now.

People need to calm down though.

We've only played the Bengals and the Colts so stop crying. We beat the Steelers and Browns whom are still competitive football teams. Look at the rest of our schedule and you can see that we don't have that many "good" teams left to play against but still somewhat competitive.

Yeah and all 3 games we lost came down to the wire... While the "bad" teams we played, we've blown out. I'd say we're at least a good team. Just inconsistent.

John Harbaugh's decision to go for it on 4th and goal instead of the 3 points in the 1st qtr is why we are not playing in OT and why we lost this game. He did the same thing versus Green Bay last year and we lost that game too. Someone please tell coach, unless it's the 4th qtr and we're behind, take the 3 points and keep fighting instead of going for it on 4th and goal. Always take the points especially in the first half. Thank you.

We have a million safeties and all of them are garbage.

Ed Reed really spoiled us.

actually the replayed showed that his fingers only grazed the front of his jersey, he did not throw the player to the ground.

He had hands full of jersey...

The big rule on a play like that in any sports is that you don't give the refs a chance to make the call like he did. Flop/exaggeration or a 50/50 call is irrelevant - Smith gave the refs a reason to make that call.

He didn't even look for the ball, he just ran into him and put his hands on him.  I guess that's allowed though, right?

The most frustrating part of this game for me wasn't the PI on Smith but giving up that long throw to Sanu on that last drive. The same story as week 1. On the Bengals final possession where a stop more or less wins the game we give up a bomb. Beyond frustrating.

Honestly looking at it calm and completely open minded and I cannot any instance where he grabs the jersey or has a hand full of jersey as you put it

Yeah, I do agree that both men interfere, and as a result Smith Sr comes out on top. Ref should either swallow the whistle, or call the PI on both. This is tempered for me as we really did stink it up by beating ourselves most of the day.
