Like the old saying goes, you're only as good as your last performance.

The 24 pts in 4 minutes vs Houston 2 weeks ago and the 50 they hung on the Colts says a lot.

Just like the Ravens offense was clicking vs the Bucs and Falcons, they're clicking right now.

Only time will tell.  That beind said, I dont' think this will be an easy win for either team.  Hopefully, we'll

come out on top.

I have no doubt you already know this and chose to ignore it, but they scored 14 points in about one minute, requiring the Steelers to move the ball a total of 11 yards.

What you should probably be focusing on is figuring out why the Steelers managed 6 points for the other 56 minutes of the game.

The way I see it, they've played 4 games against offenses that are in the top half of the league in yards per game (Baltimore, Cleveland and Indy, two of them at home).

In those games, the Steelers are allowing an average of 30 PPG.

If you're going to look at the Steelers, at least focus on both sides of the ball. In a game that allegedly annointed the Steelers as a "contender" in this league and all of the sudden make people fear them, they gave up 450 yards and 34 points.... and their opponent only had the ball for 20 minutes.

Will Hill needs to play a lot this week. The entire secondary needs to step up maybe we can put an illegal hit on Brown like they did to Torrey but I'm sure we will get flagged.

Will Hill needs to just be the starting free safety already.

I actually agree with you…Steeler fans are not sure who these guys are yet. Eight games in and there is still no clear identity. We were... bad, really, really bad 2 weeks ago against the Brownies…a team we never (ok almost never) lose too.  However, the same could be said of the Ravens…who are you guys? There is an outside chance that these two teams could actually have an offensive shootout. Either way, I have no idea which team will show up on either side of the ball.

Agreed. What we think we know is that the Steelers are the epitome of an inconsistent football team, and the Ravens are apparently a team that only beats teams that are inferior to them.

What that means for Sunday, however, I have no idea.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on a higher scoring game than normal in this rivalry, and I don't suspect it will be a blowout either way.

It will be close I would think. Without Jimmy I have little faith we can stop their offense, but I also have little faith their defense will stop our offense. If we dont make the stupid mistakes i think we will win.

This game will be win by the respective offense, whether it's us or them. I think this could be a higher scoring game than usual. That's not just because of what Pittsburgh put up last week either.

Did anyone ever see those PFF numbers for Franks ?

Dont see to see them it was bad. Bunches of catches allowed and constantly playing 10-12yds even when it was 6yds for a 1st down

Most of the big plays came against our safeties. Franks let up a couple key plays but wasn't terrible. Brooks and Elam is probably the worst safety combination in the league.

Well.....power rankings have us barely above the Browns down 7 places with the Steelers above us.....hummmm, seems as if NFL.com predicts Steelers to beat us, what's new?

IF (notice if is in big letters) Pees can put away his girly clothes and use our awesome pass rushers to make Ben as uncomfortable as possible (since he is going to test our secondary anyway) then we could have a great chance of slamming them.

Because..... if we play cover football giving Ben all day ( like we did with the Bengals) Roethlisberger is going to carve us up into pieces!

GO RAVENS!

Are you not supposed to capitalize off of turnovers, what am I missing?  They still did enough to win the game, that's all that matters.  Lets not forget that Houston is a pretty good defensive team and probably why they only scored 6 points the rest of the game.

In the game vs the Colts, yes they gave up 30+ points, but they also put up 51 on them, another very good defensive team.  That says a lot on how their offense is playing right now.

For whatever reason, you looked over my last comment, "Just like the Ravens offense was clicking vs the Bucs and Falcons, they're clicking right now.Only time will tell. That beind said, I dont' think this will be an easy win for either team. Hopefully, we'll

1. You're missing the fact that it is extremely rare for a football team to turn the ball over 2-3 times in a one minute span in their own red zone. Its basically an outlier, also known as not something teams should be depending on to win a football game.

2. Houston has a good defense, and so do the Ravens. So if the Ravens don't caugh the football up twice in their own redzone in a 1 minute timespan, shouldn't that mean we should expect to hold Pittsburgh to 16 points or less? I mean if they are only scoring 6 points in 56 minutes against good defenses, we should have no worries there.

3. A teams offense being classified as "clicking" requires more than a one game sample (as you referenced by quoting multiple games for the Ravens). Thus far, the offense for the Steelers has been impressive for ONE game. It, as you already agreed to, was not impressive in its previous game against Houston.

1.  I'm not missing the fact at all.  Yes it is an outlier and RARELY happens but when it does, the offense still should take advantage of it which they did.  If they come away with only two FGs, they lose the game, but they scored TDs.

2.  You shouldn't assume that at all!  Because like you witnessed, they put up 51 pts vs the Colts which is another very good defense.  So to say that good defenses will limit the amount of points they score to 16pts, the Colts defense didn't get that memo.

3. Disagree again, while they did score 14 quick points in 1 min b/c of turnovers in the redzone, they also scored 14 other points the other 3 minutes before the half that didn't start in their opponents redzone.

4. I hope the Ravens limit their offense and we come out on top.

5. 1 -3, we'll agree to disagree.

our game plan would be keep blitzing like crazy cuz either way Franks going to serve the Steelers good; why don't we gamble for turnover or sack?

We're a better football team. We're hungrier. We're winning.

I'm not going to say we will win or lose....but this statement is the same thing everyone said about Cincy.

Question to all Ravens fans on this board: on a confidence meter from 0-10 (0 being no confidence at all), how confident are you to pull out a W in Pittsburgh giving the current circumstances?

I'm not saying how confident I am or may not be in the Ravens gameplay versus the Steelers this Sunday.  I'm done with all of that and predicting points etc.  The Ravens are what they put on the field in a specific game and that seems to change from week to week and opponent to opponent.  I just hope it is a W.

Watching the Redskins last night and jimmy haslat showing blitz, and being aggressive against the best offensive line in the NFL. And it worked.

I saw that too! I do recall seeing a few blitzes against the Bengals' offensive line. Problem was that our corners gave those receivers such a cushion even I would have been able to get a completion (smh Pees).

Every one keeps saying we gotta pressure Ben.

I am not saying that is wrong but I am saying that is a tall order.

Suggs is quoted as saying "Taking down Ben is like taking down an oak tree"

The guy is super tough to take down and is a master at extending plays. If you send "too much pressure" he is sure to find the weak spot and take advantage of it.

And there were times where I saw him getting rid of the football quick.

Ask me my confidence next week after we play steelers..... That will be my real answer then. Right now I'm still pissed about the bengals game. I went to the beach after the loss and had some coronas, and that didn't make me feel better.lol
