Indy getting hammered by PIT...great

Would you rather us face an extremely hungry Pitt next week in Prime Time in their House?

I think I'd rather them come in feeling a tad over confident.

An Indy loss helps us as well.- they already beat us & at least we play Pitt and already beat them once.

We're not even technically at our midway point of the season... Why are people worried about what place we are in the division?

Yes we are. We're 5-3. Eight games into a 16 game season. If that's not halfway I don't know what is.

Ravens 1st to 3d in division in one day! Pitt laying it on Indy

Ravens will be second in the division by days end regardless of whether Pittsburgh wins or loses...

Yeah!  You read right!  I said they are too inconsistent!  Maybe not for you but for me...yes!  And my expectations?  Well, they are obviously higher than most when it comes to the Ravens.  I know that no team plays well every week and yet, you are one of the main people that rips Pees when the D plays like they did today.  Did you rip Pees for their play against Tampa Bay or Atlanta?  I doubt it!  So, what was different from those games and this one?  Ahhh...no consistency!  C'mon now!  Lol!

@Mili

Actually it is Pees consistency that bothers me. Consistently playing soft zone. Consitent non-creative play calling. Consistent lack of guts. :P

Those game were his anomalies!

All teams have games like we just had at some point. Now let's see if we can go into Pitt and play like we've played the 3 games before this one.

I want to agree but you have to realize we played a lot of this game without Jimmy, who is the only CB on the team who plays well in press. We were forced to play off-man and zone today by Jimmy's injury.

I'd rather us play Raven football with the personnel available & fail - then play mamby pamby ball like Pees does for whatever reason.

It is akin to just giving up. Why not just walk down the field 20 yards and give them 2 first downs right away since that's how off we're playing their receivers and we're going to do it anyway.

So they have three consistent games and one they lost by a FG and have some bad plays and they're too inconsistent? Not sure what you expect because I haven't seen a team in the league that plays well every single week.

3 games the offense plays possum against the better teams on our schedule. Th3 coaching sure as hell hasn't helped much either. Oh yeah. Stupid turnovers as well.

So you think it makes more sense to force round pieces into square holes, a la Cam Cameron? Instead of playing zone with zone corners, you want to play press with zone corners? Hmm.

By the way, I'm tired of this "Raven football" shtick everyone says. Raven football is whatever the Ravens play. And right now, the Ravens can't afford to play press.

The Ravens have no corners.

Has anyone been around long enough to witness a Ravens defense with Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata on the field, all helpless, while Roethlisburger put up five TDs in the first half on our worthless corners in 2007?

Most of us have but we choose to forget.

I have this nagging suspicion that the Steelers are going to surprise people and take it to the Colts. Then, you can bet they'll be licking their chops at the prospect of leapfrogging Baltimore and being second in the division.

I still believe that this was a game that Baltimore could not afford to lose.

I hope I'm wrong and Cincy bungles the rest of the season away, but they have proven themselves to be capable to winning the division repeatedly.

Not a bad call so far....

Yup, they are...  Just talking about it in our Vent thread.....  Steelers's hand brushes the front of Luck's helmet, and Luck gets a roughing the passer call...  but no call on the ripping off of Flacco's helmet.

If anything 3 teams out of the north will make the playoffs but regardless we will be one of them

When I said "Then, you can bet they'll be licking their chops at the prospect of leapfrogging Baltimore and being second in the division." I was referring to next week. If my prediction holds true (and hopefully it won't) Pitt will split with Baltimore and be ahead by a game.

It was week nine, the score was 38 to 7 and Mel Blount called us a JV team.

OK, I was counting in terms of weeks into the season, but your math is probably more relevant. Regardless, we're somewhere AROUND midseason and still have 8 games to play. Who cares if we're down a game or up two in the division. Still a long way until it matters.

Currently we are playing zone with corners who suck at it. So actually, right now we are forcing square pegs into round holes.

"right now the Ravens can't afford to play press" Except, like, when we have and it has been extremely successful. But when we don't and it costs us then it's the old "we can't afford to play press". smh

If we sweep the browns, i can agree with this.

It has to do more with injuries than players. Zone with healthy Jimmy, Webb, and Asa would be more than fine. Unforunately, Asa is out for a while and Jimmy and Webb have been out several games.

Not the same Roethlisberger anymore. :) One great game doesn't suddenly redefine his mediocre play the last few years. If anything, he's more likely to turn into a pumpkin next week than continue anything close to this level of play.

Except we already beat the Steelers once. So...like....no logic in the circle.

Except the Steelers are obviously a much better team than they were when we last faced them... Wait, that argument sounds very familiar for some reason.
