If The Bills Beat Patriots...

28 posts in this topic

If the Bills beat the Pats at 1 on Sunday, we win the AFC Wildcard regardless of the Jags game. If they lose, we have to beat the Jags to win the wildcard.

Im really hoping the Bills can pull this win out. This means we will be able to rest Mason (Who deserves, and needs rest), Ray Rice (Who could use another week of healing), Samari Rolle, Anderson, and whomever else I am missing.

Plus, sitting Mason will get us a better look at Marcus Smith, and maybe Figurs.

And hopefully McGahee will beast it up and have a good game, because for him I think its more of a mental thing then a talent and physical issue.

LETS GO BILLLLS!

I don't know about that, if we rest those guys than that would give us a considerably larger chance to lose.

Noboby wants to go into the playoffs off of a loss. They want to go in hot.

Remember the Giants' finale last year? And the Steelers? How'd thier two playoff runs differ?

Right, but the biggest threat they have is pocket hercules. And none of our LB's are sitting. Mason needs to sit, if not at the start then after we get a decent lead going. Or leave him in for distractions. IMO at least..

I really think we will beat them without those 4 starters. But hey thats why Im not the coach!

I agree 100% except I would only rest the players that are too much injured to play like Mason, but the rest should start.

I wouldn't mind seeing a couple veterans get some rest, but I still want us to maintain momentum coming out of the Dallas game and get a win. I remember back in 2006, we played the Bills at home the last game of the year. We played with almost no energy and basically squeaked out a win with a C-Mac pick-6 towards the end. This lull continued on into our playoff game against the Colts. However, the veterans who need rest would be Samari, Mason, and Willie Anderson. Then, in the 2nd half if we are up a good amount, Ray, Ed, and couple more can rest. ONLY if we have a comfortable lead though.
do we have a tie breaker agains NYJ
If the Pats lose and the Jets win, Jets win the division. The Jets won't be a factor in the wild card race unless the Pats win.

if NE loses we get in
Rolle is banged up, Rice is banged up and Mason is banged up, all injured and it gives us a chance to see what Clayton can do as the number one and gives us a chance to see Marcus Smith on a down by down basis,

But NE wont lose, i could almost guarantee it

Jets are win the division or nothing. They must win (and fins lose of coarse) and the Pats must lose to get into the playoffs.

If the Pats lose, we are in regardless. If the Pats lose, we lose and Miami wins we go to Miami. If the Pats lose and we lose and the Jets win, NY will have won the division and we would go there.
I dont think thats right because the jets could still take our wildcard with a win. If we dont win.
a Jets win means they win the division since they play Miami and that would make us tied with Miami who we beat head to head.

The jets can only take our wildcard with a win, a new england win, and a baltimore loss. If NE & NYJ both win, NE gets the division, the Jets and phins have a tie record, jets holding the tiebreaker. If we lose the jets hold the tiebreaker with us through conference wins, they get the wildcard. We have to play this game hard and WIN!

I'd love to see the Bills play spoiler to the Pats. Resting Mason and the other banged players would be nice. I'm sure the rest of the team would step up, and like other said it would give the Clayton's and the like to get a chance to step up.

How bout we just win the game against the jags and hope that Miami wins so we dont have to worry about any of this.... Also we can beat Miami and we already did during the regular season.

I am just glad if we make it to the playoffs... with all the crazy stuff that has happened this year I am not sure about how easy this game is going to be.

How about we hope the Patriots lose so the Jaguar game dont have to matter.

That way when the Pats lose the coaches can let the players that need rest take a break.

I hope the Patriots lose no matter what.

people need to learn that the jags arent a bad team. they are dangerous in december if teams arent careful. stop all the playoff talks, untill we are actually in the playoffs. take it one week at a time
