Trying out for "America's Got Talent"

19 posts in this topic

Recently, I registered at the web site for auditions for "America's Got Talent"; I feel that my singing is maybe - just maybe - good enough to go for the audition.

I registered for the New York audition, which is early November, and with the help of friends elsewhere, I should be able to get there and make the most of my opportunity.  I know that New York is expensive, and even a little crazy, but I feel that I must take the chance.

I welcome your comments.

I've downloaded and printed the release form for the series at the public library here in Clinton today - under the terms of the release agreement, I cannot discuss the results of the audition until the series airs this summer.

Tomorrow, I'll download and print the ticket, and I'll be all set!

……but you're anonymous here so you're good. Discuss away ;)

Over the past few days, I downloaded the ticket, and also made reservations for the bus trip and lodging.

I just hope this all works out, everyone!

I'm back from the audition, however, due to the terms of the release form, I cannot discuss the audition.

However, I did note that New York wasn't as bad as my father made it out to be for so many years.

That's easy - you just re-register as George71 and speak in hypotheticals. "It would have been cool if I'd made it through, I'd be so excited about moving to the next stage." ;)

New York isn't a bad city imo. Bit overrated, but it has a nice character and there's a lot to do once you find your feet.

My dad did note that NYC had changed a lot from when he was working there in the 70's.  It used to be that the hospital he worked for would take all the new staff out to Times Square to walk around and witness all the adult stores and "adult times" workers just so they would be aware that yes, that sort of stuff was there in the city.
