Official vent thread vs Falcons

Jacoby is still having an awful year, and Flacco made a couple of questionable decisions.  Those are my only 2 complaints.

We got the W and played really well overall.

Didn't think Joe had the best of games, he wasn't brutal by any means, but not one of his better performances.  That Falcons Oline, wow, I didn't think it was that bad.  That was almost sad to watch.  Like playing Madden on Pro.  Guys knifed through and beat lineman right off the snap consistently.

Can anyone who was able to focus more on it than me comment on how Will Hill played first game in? I saw he made some great special teams tackles but didn't get a read on his defensive plays

I'm mad we didn't get the shut out and should've put up at least 40.  Jacoby might need to be introduced to the bench.

what happened with him

What the hell happened to Morgan?

Knee injury.  Walked to the sidelines with help, but carted back into the locker room.

Ravens fans: Cornerback gives up 1 TD? Pees I terrible.

You can criticize pees but Boyd's of reason people. One touchdown in garbage time doesn't mean anything except the fact that Franks can't cover.

Jacoby will probably be gone after this season. Flacco's second INT really bothered me, didn't know what he was thinking. The first INT was partially on Torrey. QBs are going to throw it up on one on one coverage sometimes, he needs to learn to play the ball better. Other than that, we played well.

I thought Franks played well in this game.

I thought Franks played well in this game.

He did actually. The whole secondary did. Of course the front 7 killed it against a bad line.

Aside from a couple bone-head decisions by Flacco, and a couple drops on offense and defense, the team played pretty well.

Flacco made a couple bad throws and qhestionable reads but overall he was solid and the defense was lights out. Front 7 got great pressure against what is left of Atlanta's O-line and the secondary was pretty solid overall. Time to focus on next week and going on the road to play a motivated Bengals team.

Joe made a few mistakes, but even Jimmy and CJ did as well so I won't come down too hard on him for them. People are underrating how well the Falcons secondary played at times. The reality is that good players make good plays at times. Difficult concept to grasp I know.

Holding Julio to 56 yards off 5 receptions was great, especially considering 25 or so of them came in the 4th quarter (yes people, those were garbage time stats. We're not the 1985 Bears so calm your expectations). At first glance I'd say defensively we stepped up exactly as I said we should: shut him down, flood the backfield and let Ryan make the mistakes.

Another bright side was Torrey Smith. He's looking a lot more comfortable in this offence and we're starting to get some pretty lethal plays out of him.

My worries for next week are James Hurst and the playcalling on third and short. As well as just getting beaten by his rusher, Hurst looked like he got confused by the looks the Falcons gave him at times, and that's something you can bet money the Bengals and Steelers will try to cash in on. And for the love of Ozzie I want us to get a bit more creative on those third downs with less than two to go. It feels like we always use a draw play up the gut and it's getting painfully predictable. I'd like to see plays designed to have the runner bounce outside, or have Joe roll out of the pocket or hit a guy like Campanaro on a quick slant.
