Percy Harvin traded to the Jets

Apparently the Seahawks got tired of him, and didn't think he was a fit. So they shipped him to the Jets for a mid round pick.

Makes sense I guess. In a trade like that you'd probably give the benefit of the doubt to the Seahawks at first (especially considering it's the Jets they're trading with).

Apparently he's poison to the locker room as the vikings said plus he's a big cap hit for a limited role player you don't get too much use out of really. Going from heaven to hell for harvin, my god.

If by "not a fit" you mean "their entire offense", then I agree.

I'm guessing the loss to Dallas had something to do with this. Not everything is pretty after a loss.

Now we'll see what they're made of and if they're truly a good team.

Losing Tate was probably a bigger loss for them.  Percy was injured all of last season so his absence isn't that much of a zinger

They just traded two high picks like a year and a half ago for him. They barely got a half season worth of games from him, then cash him in for pennies on the dollar. This is clearly a sign that he wasn't too popular with the powers that be in Seattle.

Fixed my post. Lol. I'm sure it makes more sense now.

He hasn't done much at all for them this year. I expect his phantom migraine headaches to flare up in New Jersey

I find the move too weird to explain as a scheme fit. The reason has to be personality fit.

Yeah, I thought they were getting pretty good mileage out of him. He was a nice home run threat for an otherwise slow but high-percentage system. It can't have just been a round hole realising it traded for a square peg.

Perhaps it was Harvin who asked to be traded? Maybe he just wants to be a wideout rather than a target for big boys running out of backfield for most part?

He was their fire in the SB last year...  I don't think they'd have win without him...  but he must be something of a distraction.

Everyone is preaching that the Jets won big on the trade, but for all we know this could pan out just like Trent Richardson trade did for Indy

He was great in the Super Bowl, just like he's been great every short time period he actually played for them (and for Minnesota for that matter). I thought they would have to lean on him more this season without Tate, but I guess they're comfortable going another way. They did win their division and conference without him last year, and though he played well in the superbowl, I doubt one player lost would have cost them the 35-point victory. This team is different than last year, so we'll see.

Well, according to Schefter this is a better move for their offense. Either way I'm baffled by it, but glad to see them get something for him.

Russell Wilson had a Total QBR of 45.3 with Percy Harvin on the field this season, and a QBR of 71.0 with him off the field.
