RB Bernard Pierce on his way out? (Twitter Post Speculation)

Maybe I'm reading into this too much and it's nothing, or maybe he's actually leaving.  Here is a tweet from him earlier today:

When does his rookie contract expire? I'd say he'll see that out and get a semi-decent offer from a team that hasn't yet cottoned on to how to draft RBs late and keep cycling through them.

I'm not sure this is nothing. Forsett and LT have proven capable of carrying the load. Fitz Touissant has looked good in limited time. Pierce is expendable. Those 15 carries might have been an audition for another team. Let's look at more evidence.

 

We have two roster moves to make soon with Cody and Hill. Trade deadline is in a few short weeks. Pierce said he needs a realtor ASAP. It's not completely out of the question that we trade him.

 

I'm not saying this is something, but I'm not saying it's nothing. Is it likely? Probably not. But it's not out of the question.

I agree, I was prepared to wait and see if he improves as he gets used to the system but that patience is wearing kinda thin after that Tampa game. I'd like to watch the all-22 tape, but at a glance it seems he struggles to find the right holes fast enough (if at all).

 

Honestly, if that Tampa game was an audition for trading him, I'm not convinced we'd be able to get a whole lot.

If someone wants to give up a draft pick for him that would be great. Maybe Indy wants to trade another 1st rounder for a bad running back. haha

 

Seriously though he has been such a huge dissapointment. His YPC is terrible. He was supposed to be the RB ideally suited for this zone scheme but he doesn't seem to have the vision that Forsett has or the raw power that Lorenzo has. I remember one point during the Bucs game where the announcers pointed out how the blocking was leading Pearce to the right for a huge hole but he cut left and got stuffed. No vision whatsoever.

I remember his first year he always gave me the feeling he was about to break off an 80-yarder at any point.  I haven't had that feeling since then.  Hope he figures this thing out and goes off one of these days.  The no vision theory seems to have some truth to it I guess.

Last years oline was terrrrible.
