Week 7 Discussion (Other Teams)

At this point…I will take anything we can get. From my view…Foster running the ball is the right call and on the replays you can see it gets punched out. On the pick, over a minute and 3 time outs…the case can be made that trying to get in position for a FG is legit. In my opinion, most NFL coaches are too cautious…but moments like that are what they fear. O'Brien may realize  its not college and become more conservative after that…we will see. But as I said…I will take it. We will need something miraculous next week if we want a shot at the Colts!

If your QB is Rodgers, Brady, Breese, yeah!  Fitzpatrick, not so much!! LOL

Well, we were awful for the first 27 minutes. Then the explosion…which was great to see. Turnovers are a key in this league and those were takeaways last night. Two strips and a tip. So they were "plays made" and they changed the entire complexion of the game. The Steelers did not have a killer instinct in the second half. They didn't put the game away…which would not be enough against the Colts or other good teams. The idea of some on here that the Steelers are "old" is just uninformed. On offense - Ben has several years left, Bell and our O Line are young, Antonio Brown has several years left…our other receivers are all young. So a young and very talented offense has the potential to get really good. Defense- ya, there are some recognizable old guys out there, but we have a lot of young guys like Shazier, Worlids and Jones that have upsides. Our D has not been healthy. I don't see the Steelers being better than 9-7 this year. If they finish with a winning record and show genuine growth and improvement I will be happy.

After that turnover fest before halftime, I just knew that the Texans couldn't recover from that. To respond to the bolded statement, that's why I don't feel that the word "old" is the best way to describe your defense. I'm thinking more like "transitioning." Believe it or not, I actually picked the Steelers to make the playoffs before the season started, so we'll see. Apart from our game and the Colts, those two Bengals games and (maybe) your home game against the Chiefs are critical ones.

I agree. (Dang, whats wrong with us?) Our team as it stands right now is not a playoff team. However, they made a significant turn around last season going from 0-4 to 8-8. They were 6-2 in the second half. That's the kind of improvement necessary to make a run. I have hope…but not confidence! The Bengals seem to be imploding. If they don't recover, and we end up beating them twice…that would be huge. I think you guys are catching them at the right time. They are struggling.  Green either won't play or won't be 100%…thats huge. I don't think they are a strong team psychologically. If you get them down…they fold.

I remember the season before, I think you guys started off relatively strong until Ben went down and then when he came back I believe you guys lost like 3 in a row (and getting eliminated from the postseason in the process). As far as the Bengals are concerned, had week 1 been in Cincy and this coming week in Baltimore, I would feel a lot more confident in winning. That being said, Green (100% or not) still has to contend with Jimmy Smith who's playing phenomenally right now. If we win on both sides of the trenches, we should be in good hands leading to our match with you guys.

People still think The browns have a chance at a wildcard, let alone the division. lmao.

Anything to discredit us.

If they make the right move and switch to Johnny Football, I would agree. How did Hoyer have one of, or if not his worst game of the season against a previously winless Jaguars team? They need to turn the keys to the car over to Manziel while they have a shot at the Wild Card.

Breaking news: Michael Sam has been waived by the 'Boys. The media world should explode soon if it hasn't already.

Ha already the top line on ESPN, what a shocker

I hope you're being sarcastic and want Manziel to start so they can suck more.

I don't think the Jaguars are as bad as people think. I think that team could be a contender in three years if they draft right. They have some very nice pieces building they.

Apparently they have faced one of the top five schedules in the NFL. If they had an easier go of things, we might  have been talking about them in the same way that people were speaking of the Browns.

I agree. I actually think they could stun us and beat us at home this year. That team has a lot of potential. I think people need to watch them. When you have a QB and build an OL and assemble a defense you can win games. They have their QB, imo. They have some nice WR options in Lee, Robinson, Shorts, with a nice and very underrated TE. They have pieces on the OL to begin to do well. This OL class actually benefits them and can really advance them to the next level. With some DL, pass rushers and secondary players and a legit ILB this team can contend.

I give them three years. They have a lot of potential.

Please don't bring up that season….we actually DID make the playoffs…and then got Tebowed! LOL. We haven't recovered since.

That's a shame, I was rooting for the guy. I guess he was too small and too much of a distraction.

Assuming he's done and no-one else picks him up, I wonder what his legacy will be on gay players in the NFL. Whether he's helped to begin a discussion around the league that goes on to make things easier for others, or whether they get put off by how ESPN handled the whole thing and it gets set back another 10 years.

NFL players know who's gay. It's the public that doesn't. It seems to be that the NFL locker rooms and coaching staff really don't care about sexual preference. It's the public.
