I've seen a bunch of tweets today saying that now that Markakis has been signed, he's going to have surgery on his bulging disc. Wonder if he'll be ready for Spring Training?

Strange too since the Braves knew about the surgery and still signed him.

I was hoping we could have kept Cruz around, so much for keeping the band together.

Would be very happy to get Justin Upton.... But only If he's a lock to re-sign long term. I wouldn't even be that upset parting ways with Bundy for him. Especially if the Braves wanna do a buy 1 Upton, get 1 free. ;)

Would be a lot of strike outs between him, Jones and CD but he's only 27 and I think he'd look great with us.

Most likely won't happen though.

If Kate Upton comes as part of the deal, then sign Justin to a life time contract ;)

Thats what I've been telling all my friends. Calm down, this means we can keep guys like Miller and maybe get Kemp.

Kemp's contract is huge but if we can make a trade including Jimenez, I would take that swap, now that Nick is gone.

Just saw that Miller is a Yankee (4year 36million)............now I am sick to my stomach. Now I can officially say it - What a horrible off-season!!!!!!!! I can't type it but you could hear it if you were in my house.

Dan is going to have to really pull of some magic now. Looking at the FA's still out there, well Baltimore we have a problem. I'd love to see Kemp here but the Dodgers are asking too much and if Jimenez isn't part of that deal, no. Justin Upton would be nice too but I haven't heard what Atlanta would expect in return although they probably want Bundy or Gausman too. Looking forward to the winter meetings, why I am not really sure. Hey Delmon, would you come back? Kinda LOL!

Admittedly, I wasn't aware Markakis would need neck surgery. Also getting over it emotionally, (until the season starts back up,) is giving me more clarity and peace to his departure.

I hate losing Miller, especially to a rival, but I'm glad the Yankees paid that. They're one of the teams who can get away with overpaying but I don't like that contract he received and I'm glad we wouldn't pay that.

Dan Duquette to Blue Jays?

Sources: #Orioles GM Dan Duquette a top candidate to be #BlueJays? president. Move would be a promotion. Difficult for O?s to stand in way.

- Ken Rosenthal tweet

Make it stop.

Why is he at the Winter Meetings for the O's? If he wants to go to Toronto why would he want to help us? This might be the first time I ever root for Peter Angelos. If he wants to leave make them both pay, big time, after all you've done it to us for years! You're the best at it! Go Pete go! gotta go puke now.

He's still our GM and hasn't been offered the job, but obviously still has an obligation to perform the GM duties for us.  Nothing is forgone that he's the one that will get that job.

Very true, thanks. Just been a tough off season so far after such a great year for not just the team, but the city, and Oriole fans every where. Emotions, thanks again for the reality check!

Thanks for the posts. I guess you never know in baseball, but I guess we'll see. It's just such a shock at this point to even think about it. Thanks again!

Wow! Surprised and impressed by PA's comments. Did he come out & say this? Or did someone have to interview him?

Cool though!

He's under contract.

@masnRoch: Angelos on Duquette: "We're not relinquishing him, period" - School of Roch: SAN DIEGO - Orioles managing part... http://t.co/PM7Fva3frh

Some reports make it sound like we'd let him take the job in Toronto if he was offered it, but we wouldn't let him go without some sort of compensation a la Theo Epstein to the Cubs.

SB Nation- @Mark Brown is reporting Toronto will retain their current CEO for at least another year, meaning there is no job for Dan to take. Happy, happy, joy, joy!  It was good to see Pete step out of the shadows and defend the Orioles, Toronto, thanks for the near heart attack! Not funny eh!

It was a win win for the Jays. Somehow land their guy or distract the O's at a crucial time. Can't stand them.

However I expect this situation to arise again in the beginning of next offseason.....Very well could be DD's last year here. Hopefully there's no conflict of interest. I'd expect us to get well compensated if it happens.

Nothing so far on the Oriole front. Dan is really playing his game at top level. I expect Delmon to come back, have to wonder, Morse or Upton? Upton is a rental, Morse is a platoon (IMO). One other thought that crossed my mind is late cuts after spring training. Dan is a master at that, thanks for staying (for now) Dan. This is your chance to bring the O's back to who we used to be! Study our history, hear the ghosts of 33rd. street. Job titles are one thing, tradition and the satisfaction of saying "I did that" is another. Charm City loves you, bring it home! I even bet you can get Pete to pay you!

I hope we DONT persue Marlon Byrd... Too many K's... Suspicious production for age

I'll take Marlon if they take Jimenez! LOL? No really! Seriously, with you on that my friend!

I was hoping with the money we now have, maybe we would land someone. I can't even find any rumors on-line when it comes to the O's.
