I was actually surprised Flacco had the confidence in Campo to throw that pass .... Shows Flaccos trust in the kid, he has to have put in some good practice work up to this point.

I've heard alot of good things about camp. JJ's inability to make plays is forcing the coaches hand.

. I was furious last night at the lack of recognition Joe got and the team in general. Heck not even a piece on how Lovie made second half adjustments to score. Yes it's a game we should have won , oh the did mention Ray Rices appeal......grrrrrr!

Thank You for your vision including Lovie Smiths' adjustments for a competitive game.  Then the Ray Fiasco has to be attached to our season as part of their normal Ravens smear..

The media doesn't recognize Joe but football fans in general do! Out of 50 thousand votes on the NFL.com poll Flacco is winning for most impressive QB of week 6.

Yeah, I saw that....

At the game yesterday, this Tampa fan comes up to me and says.....  You know, Joe Flacco sucks...  I said to him...  "Really, you're gonna go there today"?  He said...  "Yeah, I mean, really, the way that guy throws, you all should have like 5 or 6 Super Bowls"....  LOLOL...

I told him that we wasted a lot of years with Billick and Boller....  That is why we didn't...

It was a fun day!

LOL I mean this whole thing started when their stats for us on 'blitzes' didn't include an INT which was one of the biggest plays in the Ravens/Colts game.I appreciate you asking BmoreBird22, I'd just be happy to know what they're definition of a 'blitz' is. There seem to be a few floating out there.

I got a reply and it's the answer I expected. It's not a blitz because it's a read-react play with coverage as the primary responsibility. It's not actually a "called" blitz.

One of my friends, who's a Bucs fan, once told me a few years ago that Josh Freeman > Flacco. It's safe to say I've been hearing crickets from him.

Yet still a blitz and different than their definition from that article in April.

That's fine, thank you for checking, I know what we're working with now.

Campanaro's TD catch was great. Tough catch over a defender but he went up and got it. Very promising.

Yeah, it one of the more contested and difficult grabs I've seen from a Ravens receiver. Pretty awesome catch!

Can you imagine being 21 or 22 and getting your first real live action. Then, you sky up and grab your FIRST catch and its a touchdown? Just awesome!

Agreed.  Ironically, during the game thread post someone was trying to defend Jacoby Jones missing that pass on 3rd down. Saying it was a hard catch and he had a defender pulling at him.  But yet, a rookie in his first pass attempt ever pulls down a much harder catch for a TD.  Go figure!!

hawkpreys reply to that was brilliant. If he needs the ball handed to him he should have been a running back

Don't care for individual stats too much, but 5 TD's & 0 INT's is pretty awesome! Especially in the short amount of time he did it in. If he were a Patriot he would've broken the record.... Happy for Joe though.

Also happy for Torrey having a much needed, huge game. Camp & Aiken doing great was awesome as well!

One of the most dominating performances I've ever seen us play in that first half. Wish they woulda continued so I could've won in fantasy but oh well. :)

According to Matt Miller pod cast our D has allowed 16.2 pts/game avg.  366.2 points and gathered 10 sacks.

Other internet source Jamison Hensley  states that AFC North quarter backs all have a QB ranking above 93 with a combined 33 TD's and 10 Intercepts.

In our conference we lead offense with 164 points total, next are the Bengals and Browns tied at 134 points and you know who at 124 points.

For D We lead at 97 total allowed, Browns at 115, Bengals at 113 and you know who at 139!

So this revelation ought to put out there by NFL channel within their conversation that NE and Denver are the SB contenders for the AFC crown.   Once I heard that absurd statement by the league channel  I knew there are 14 other AFC teams peaved from the forecast. Beside our fan base, I am sure SD and INDY fans are feeling the dis too.

Yea seeing what other receivers on our own team can do, blow away any defense of the catch for Jones. Was it an easy catch? no, and in looking at it real time, I thought maybe it was just too high. They showed a replay, and the ball wen't straight through his hands.

Hold On/It's my vent: I bring up the Denver smear in our first game after the SB.  The media talked about that for the season. Broncos have Manning and that is the butter on the media bread. He is so milky America.    Americas' team is Back???.  See what I mean   It's not the game its the media presentation and how they attach like maggots to skin.  So Then... Why can't they explore the Ravens dominance from both sides of the ball>????

Maybe they brought up the Denver game last year because Denver blew out the defending SB champion team, duh...

When you look at national media, you have to take into account what people give a crap about. Would you give a crap if the Saints blew out the Rams or something like that? I wouldn't! Nobody gives a crap when good teams blow out bad teams. They do care when good teams blow out or beat good teams. It's really quite simple.

Wanna see Ravens highlights? Go watch WBAL or WJZ. ESPN doesn't exist to serve Baltimore fans.

I think we still could try and get Jacoby involved in the screen game a little bit. I would think the guy would be pretty dangerous on a good screen pass, being it is kind of like a kick return at that point. Snag the ball, and head up field with defenders crashing down on you. Maybe that could help the guy out a bit, but I just don't see him getting too many more opportunities, when you just seem to not be capable of getting the job done.

I agree getting jacoby in open space with screens could be effective, however that terrifies me. Besides the fact Jacoby doesnt go back to the ball which could lead to easy pick 6s on screens, he also has shown he cant catch. If he had a screen pop up off his hands its easy interceptions for the D. I also worry about possible backwards passes on screens where Jacoby drops them, is too frustrated to realize it was a backwards pass, and the D has an easy fumble recovery. If the ravens were going to run some screens why not Torrey or campanaro?

very true, I will say he had a great screen catch in week one against the Bengals. One that Joe threw way out in front, and Jacoby actually snatched the ball and ran with it, but yea, if you bobble that, with a defender bearing down on you, that can be bad news. I would like to see some bunch formation screens, maybe with Jacoby and  Torrey and someone else. Mix it up a little. The reason I would like to see Jacoby over the others is his danger with the ball and space. If he can catch the ball with just one good block, it could be 6 with his return skills

I often wondered if the Oline coaches tried Grad in the tackle positions. Since he is second team along with Ty, that exchange was nerves not muscle memory

Pls Dont. That experiment would fail faster than Jacoby catching more balls than Steve next week.

I liked seeing Aiken and Camp getting involved.

The problem was it made cerain plays obvious. There were times where they'd come in for the starters and I was making the right calls from the stands. Won't work against every team, at least in the 2 wr sets. Was nice to see us use the full arsenal though. Something else that was interesting is seeing live how often we substitute and the safety rotation.

It was also awesome to see Gilmore get involved in the gameplan and I hope Kubiak may start utilizing him in the red zone are just another weapon for Flacco (not that we needed it). He has looked pretty good in run blocking and it was finally nice to see him get some catches as well. If gilmore can become a passing threat as well as his obvious blocking it may help to open up those big seam plays where Gilmore will first chip a rusher then release right up the seam (see Flacco's pass to Pitta against Denver in overtime from our own endzone). So many teams do that pass I'd love to see the Ravens break that into their arsenal as well with such a big target

The thing about that is Kubes is known for making 3-4 plays look exactly the same as an initial play that was run. What was obvious to you in this game maybe something that put on tape in hopes that the opponent will think exactly like you then....bam!!! play action double move for a huge play. Getting Aiken and Camp involved has to start somewhere and as you said it was nice to see.

There isn't much If anything to vent about from this game. My vent comes from the coverage of the game or more so the offense. Before I start let me say I can honestly care less who gets the glory as long as the offense can perform well and we win game.

However I can't understand for the life of me why people, mainly Brad Jackson is so stuck on the "balance" the offense must have to succeed. It's just not true, or at least not to the point some seem to make it. The threat of both the run and pass work together hand in hand. The run game is very important and helps the passing game, but the pass isn't dependent upon the run being successful. In most cases this season the run has had success because of the pass.

This offense has great balance no doubt, but to make comments like, The formula to the Ravens winning is getting 100 yards rushing and limit Flacco's attempts is just foolish and I've heard Brad Jackson make that comment far too many times. In no game has the Ravens limited Flacco in any manner. The exact opposite is true. The Ravens are passing the ball to score early while the running game helps the offense stay on course. Then in the later stages of the game, they are using the run game to seal the deal and the passing game to help slam the door shut if needed.

In 3 of 4 wins the Ravens have dominated offensively, beating their opponents by at least 20 points. All games were decided by the early part of the 4th quarter. In each one of those wins, it was said that the reason for the win was because the Ravens were able to run the ball and limit Flacco's attempts. What game is being watched because it can't be the same as the games I've watched. The numbers show that the Ravens have a 3:1 Pass-run ratio early in game until the 4th quarter(mostly in the blowout wins) it turns to 5:1 in favor of the run. In the 3 20+ victories the Ravens have run the ball a total of 34 times and passed just 7 in the 4th quarter. That greatly skews the numbers to present a "statically" balanced game, but when you watch games it's Flacco who is leading this offense no doubt. Nothing about Joe is being limited, he is playing at a extremely high level and to pass him off as a mere game manager right now is just crazy imo.

This is not to take anything away from the 3 headed monster we have running the ball because those guys do a heck of an job early in games as well. But Joe Flacco is performing at an extremely high level right now. He and Kubes are a prefect match and the offense will only get better and better under Joe's command.
