Week 6 Discussion (Other Teams)

I wonder what happens, when he gets that big QB contract. That's why I prefer Luck, eventhough I respect Wilson's ring. Luck proved he can quarterback a mediocre team to success, when it was all on him. Heck, Joe did it in 2012. Wilson on the other hand.

The next couple of seasons will be really interesting and we'll see, if he's for real.

At least the defenders are gracious enough to drop his interceptions.

Never been a believer in Wilson. Someone over at Bleacher Report wrote an article after the Redskins game about how Wilson was elite and there was no way you could argue against it. I loved reading the comments where people basically said you can't crown him elite after just one game and to wait until he showed it week to week.

Good to see he threw the deciding interception.

Sorry, originally wrote I'm not a believer in Luck, but if you know me, that's false. I love Luck

We should've beaten them in 2010 too, but stupid ref didn't call an obvious White pushoff.

---

Let's see of Seattle can send this to OT.

Wilson had literally all the time in the world and he couldn't do it. Wow, just horrible.

Whenever the OL was able to keep Joe clean (and they should against the Falcons) Flacco has been sharp this season. I don't see why we shouldn't dominate the Falcons, unless they surprise us with a suddenly great pass rush the way the Colts did.

Well, we are getting a nice pick out of McClain lol

It's fair - he was a 1st rounder. Not that we had much to do with it but we'll take it

They're both whiners.

A six rounder for our seventh rounder, I believe.

I have to say, it feels pretty lacklustre to be giving up a 7th too.

He wouldn't be starting here honestly, so I'm just happy to get something lol.

Ok, that kind of threw me when you said Luck.

I was never a believer in Wilson either. Before the 2013 season I almost posted a big essay here going into the details of why mobile QBs are a facade and highlighted Wilson, RGIII and Kaepernick (and Newton kinda). I think Newton became more of a pocket passer but Kaep and RGIII's stocks have dropped significantly since then. Wilson's stock rose, but I still think he's more of a product of a well-orchestrated offense of receiving threats and stat-padding. When things aren't going well, Wilson will look terrible the same way Kaepernick does. All you have to do is keep Wilson contained and he can't make the throws he needs to consistently.

I feel kinda cheated, because he clearly wants to play in Dallas more than for the Ravens. Oh well, it's not like we had to give up anything to get him from the Raiders and we moved up in the draft. He's good, no doubt, but would I want him over CJ, Daryl or even Arthur? Nah. I take the guys, who are willing to play for us over that cancer.

Yeah, I do think the trade works for us. Taking off the seventh just takes a bit of the shine off for some reason.

I blame Dean Pees.

RGIII was always my most overrated player in the NFL. With the read option, he always had an open receiver. Take away the running and force him to make NFL throws and he just cannot do it.

Wilson just isn't asked to do much in games. The Seahawks are usually in the lead, so the throws he has to make are extremely simple. Now, that's not to say he's never made a good throw or made plays, but he's often just making throws even I could make. Plus, Harvin staying fully healthy this year gives him such an explosive option and a threat to keep defenses so true. We saw today that when the game is close and when Wilson is asked to rise to the occasion against a strong team, he cannot do it.

I laugh at people who think he's elite because of his playoff run. If you didn't get a chance to just watch the games, look at his stats. Turrible.

Wrong, Joe Flacco should've given McClain a phone call!

Nah man, Pees should have done more blitzes and man coverage. Then McClain would have stayed and we'd have gotten the most out of him and not needed to invest high capital on the defence.

Fwiw I think Wilson's a good QB who uses his mobility well and takes high-percentage plays (as far as I've seen), but he's also the product of an excellent system that attacks all levels of the field, and an even better supporting cast. Beyond the obvious Harvin and Lynch, I'd take Doug Baldwin (one of the more underrated guys out there imo) on the Ravens over Wilson any day.

I blame the Boldin trade. His clutch catches would have shown McClain the light and we would go on to have the greatest dynasty ever.

Friendly reminder there are people who actually believe that Wilson is a better QB than Flacco.

But is he as good as Tyrod?

Not even Joe's as good as Tyrod.

Also, I can't believe we're talking about Tyrod in the Week 6 discussion thread with a game on.
