Rex as DC if he's fired?

Pees isn't the best or worst coach. He's average.

Though he's certainly not been given a lot to work with, seeing as the entire defense is riddled with injuries.

If he agreed to never talk to the media, or do interviews, then yes I would like him back as DC

Never gonna happen.

Ever.

Forget whether you like Pees or not. I simply do not see Rex ever returning to this team. There was a reason why he was not hired as the HC ... Steve had absolutely no interest in him being the face of this franchise. Once Steve moved in a different direction, that was the end. It is like a divorce. Rex and Steve parted company - permanently.

I would love to have him back but I don't know if it happens. I don't see Pees going anywhere unless the defense has a meltdown or someone hires him as a HC which I don't see happening although you never know. If we do get a vacancy at the position however, I think there is actually a decent chance we can get him back. A certain coach with us right now is someone no one on here would have predicted we would have gotten 12 months ago.

If the Ravens finish in the top 10 in defense, which I think they have every opportunity to do so, why even entertain the thought of bringing Rex back?

We have had numerous DCs leave for HC jobs only to not have it work out as a HC. I dont think any of them have come back to us as a DC again, dont see that changing with Rex. This is not to say we cut ties bad but I think the FO focuses more on moving ahead with new talent and coaches than trying to regain a past...not sure just a thought, but I dont see him coming back. Personally I think Pees is very solid, and I am not sure we have anyone within (if only Teryl Austin stayed) to make the leap so I see no change any time soon. If we did something different my hope would be that Ozzie would pull some of his Alabama strings and bring Kirby Smart to the NFL.

As much as I like Rex, I can't see it happening and I don't think Pees has done that bad of a job. He's very limited with the D-backs he has. They haven't exactly lit up the field. Let's see, doesn't Haloti Ngata have two more interceptions than the entire defensive backfield? I think he would blitz more and bring more pressure if the backfield was better. Personally, I would have signed Champ Bailey to a

one-year contract for no other reason than he could mentor the others but that's just me. We better

hope Will Hill is the answer to everyone's prayers.

Nice to think of, but Rex is not Steve's kind of guy. Man runs a mean defense, but was a polarizing figure in the locker room. He wouldn't do it anyway, IMO.

I'd take Rex back in a heartbeat and I'm pretty sure I've started a thread like this in the past. Wouldn't hesitate and know there would be an instant change in attitude.

I can't see Harbs replacing Pees, but I always liked Rex when he was our DC. I would like it, but as other pointed out....very unlikely to happen.

Rex Ryan is one of the best Defensive coordinators out there.  No doubt about it, but I question his leadership. He is more of an emotional leader, and that's great for defense. Its good for A defense to be emotional and fly all over the field. Then you include Rex Ryan's great defensive mind and you will cause a lot of trouble for offenses. But when you talk about a leader of a team that's where Rex has been exposed. He has made it all about him with the Jets and less about the team. Do I miss Rex as the Ravens D-coordinator? Of course. The D use to have much more accountability over little things then it does now. It was also extremely aggressive against any and every offense. I would take him back as the Defensive coordinator, but hes ego probably won't let go that he didn't get the HC job with the ravens.
