lol did nobody see franks against dez bryant in the cowboys preseason game? dude was flat out terrible.

In his defence, it was Dez Bryant we're talking - no shame in that.

if you saw the touchdown he gave up to Dez, you would know exactly where im coming from. franks was completely lost, he is a terrible CB. would take champ bailey over him in a second.

Franks is clearly meant to replace Jackson, as Franks has a lot of experience on ST. I don't think Franks looked too bad at CB in preseason. He went against Dez. I mean, not many guys can even do that. It was also his first chance, too.

How about Derek Cox? I thought we were bringing him back weeks ago, lol.

dez bryant makes some of the best look terrible on a routine basis. hes quite possibly the best in the game.

The problem is it wasn't Dez Bryant who made Franks overrun the play and fall on his face.  If Franks played it well but Bryant just outleapt him and ran him over, you'd say "well, it's Dez Bryant, that's gonna happen."  With the way the play went though, with no contact, it could've just as easily been Campanaro and the result would be the same.  I don't care if you get beat, just turn, leap, and try to make a play.  When a guy runs in a straight line and falls on his face, however, that's Chykie Brown level troubling to me.

I'd take a risk on him, but I think Franks was solid in the preseason as well.

I'd take the risk on him too, just for the veteran presence. But if the Saints cut him and the Lions worked him out and didn't sign, and we took Franks instead ... He must not be looking that great, unfortunately.

I thought Franks was really solid, outside of the touchdown to Dez Bryant, but I would still have preferred a trade for someone, like, I don't know, Trumaine McBride.

They probably would have had more of a shot trading for him if Walter Thurmond had not been sent to I.R but The Patriots cornerbacks look quite tradeable,

I agree, I thought Cox would have been back on the roster weeks ago and it never happened. I thought he outplayed Franks from what I saw of the two of them. Maybe he got sick of us cutting and resigning him.

Y hold on to a bust player like chykie , kind like the jets holding on a bust QB like Geno , and they know he sucks,

my idea..

as long as webb is healthy, use terrence brooks at nickel, webb and jimmy as the 2 outside guys, and with will hill coming back let him and stewart handle FS responsibilities. brooks has shown to be a borderline stud at nickel while still learning fs but playing decent,

Sorry to bump this, but figured it wasn't worth a new thread...

Fair warning: This is Preston, so take it for what it's worth.  Apparently, we're still interested in Champ Bailey despite not signing him immediately.

I'd be happy to have Bailey if he only played limited snaps
