Asa Jackson to miss significant time with severe foot injury; Ravens likely to add another CB

44 posts in this topic

Well, it looks like we'll finally be adding some CB depth.

Asa Jackson severely sprained toe out for a number of weeks, in a boot, likely IR-designated to return

John Harbaugh said the team will consider its options at cornerback due to Asa Jackson injury, sounds like they'll need to add someone

Man, as soon as Webb gets back the secondary gets another injury to overcome. I Feel sorry for Asa, he needs playing time to get better but it's not happening now.

Asa wasn't doing anything spectacular, but he was playing some pretty solid football considering the circumstances.  He was doing well to limit big plays.  Overall, he was pretty average, but that's great considering the condition of our secondary.

Is Chris Houston healthy?

Or does he suck? Dont know much about him...

Combo of both are issues.  The Lions felt that his foot injury is a degenerative type of injury, and he's not all that good anyways.

Ravens will be adding Will Hill next week; no reason to add someone new to the mix this week only to cut them next.

Asa Jackson may be place on i.r designated return and if that happens this week then we have to add somebody to the team.

I agree on all above accounts. I believe a season of playing time would have shown growth and improvement in his game. I was confident in his ability to improve.

tough break for Asa and the secondary. I think the immediate plan might be to move Brooks back to CB and promote Jacobs from the PS. I'm not sure what options there are on the market, nor do we seem to have much to trade. If Webb can round into shape over the next couple weeks things shouldn't be too bad.

Hopefully Will Hill's return and Webb getting back to form will help.

It's a real shame. I think it hurts our special teams quite a bit as well. Jackson made an impact on ST. He's an overall solid CB who's developing and getting experience. This, unfortunately, stunts his growth.

I'm hoping we keep Brooks at FS. I'd rather have Elam in the nickel than Brooks. Put Stewart at SS.

Disappointing to say the least. At least Webb looks like he is getting back on track, but this is certainly a blow to the defense. I have to think the FO is looking hard at whatever FA options are out there.

Maybe we can get Chris Gamble to come out of retirement?

Sounds like it might be a big..... Gamble. In all seriousness, he's been out of football for over about two years now (missed quite a bit of time in 2012 and didn't play in 2013), so that's not a good idea.

I'd rather let the young guys come up... not named Chykie and see what they can do if we're not going to make a move on a trade.

The Ravens could get one of the undrafted rookies they had in training camp. Aside from that, they could just use a three safety set in place of the nickle defense.

Asa was playing better with every single snap ... such a shame he's down with a stupid injury. Our CB depth is scary ... Webb is starting to look good but if he goes down again we're hurting real bad.

Apparently they worked out champ bailey. Getting desperate, but potentially low risk high reward.

I'd take a risk on him, but I think Franks was solid in the preseason as well.
