Official Vent thread vs Indy : who should walk home

We lost this game cause the offense never got off the damn plane and Harbs is getting coaching advice from Ask Madden.

Anyone else hoping that Rex gets the Dennis Allen treatment and he's brought here to give us one of the greatest coaching staffs in the league?

Does Rex do offense?

People are giving up on Torrey a little bit too fast. -_- Next games up: Tampa and Atlanta more than enough opportunity there for Torrey to prove people wrong.

Not giving up on him, but Torrey does not look good. Hopefully he gets straight.

We'll improve. I still view us as a playoff team

yeah, pretty much. But we need to get it together or we will soon fall too far behind the pack to make the tournament.

Hurst, and every O line at some point, got owned today.  Gotta give it to Pags and indy, their D played way above their heads today. Great game planning.

Not even blaming the refs. That's candy butt. We lost this game because our defense can't cover and the only one who can tackle is Mosley.

Oh yeah, and our WRs bombed today. Cut Jacoby.

Our Secondary is worst than last year.....especially jackson, brown, stewart, elam playing at the wrong spot.....even Darryl Smith looks out of place at times.....tell me why Arthur Brown is not playing again....with him and CJ we will have speed everywhere.....and aw man the receiving corp is even worst than last year Torrey and Jacoby is not doing anything

I said early on in the game. That not taking the 3pts to make it 3-3 would comeback to haunt us. Also going for that 4th & 1 and not running, basically conceded the battle in the trenches. I mean we didn't trust our OLine to get us that 1 yard.

I won't go as far as some and say the Defense played well, their redzone defense stout but that's always been the case. We gave up too many long drives, with multiple 3rd down conversions. No one covered Reggie Wayne on a 3rd down all day. And the front four alone isn't getting enough push, when we choose to blitz we applied pressured.

CJ Mosley improves game by game I am highly impressed with him, Ngata also had solid game.

torrey smith honestly just looks uninterested and shows no intensity or fight when playing anymore, which is really sad seeing how he is one of the hardest working guys on the team.. i see no competiveness in anymore, not even in his route running

Rex Ryan might be looking for a job soon and I'd cut off my foot for him to be our DC again.

Over it already.

Defense played awesome red zone defense which they've been doing but still gave up too many long drives, too many 3rd down conversions.

Offense never got started, horrid O line play, penalties, turnovers - all momentum killers.

Kubiak's game calling wasn't great either. Neither was Pees. When we sent pressure we were successful over 90% of the time but we rarely did it.

At the end of the day, if we end up 14-2 we're all good so the sky isn't falling. Pees is still too vanilla outside the red zone & does not attack when the game is on the line.

Harbaugh needs to stop getting cute on 4th downs. Take the points, especially in road games.

Last play - looked like PI to me. Just sayin'.

Torey has went up and caught alot of Flacco passes. He's not doing that anymore?

I believe you're thinking of someone else. Torrey rarely fights for the ball.

Because our running game was kinda nonexistent today, I almost feel it will be in full force come next week. Just like from pass-happy week 1 to run-happy week 2.

I wonder if the addition of the new WR coach is causing issues with guys like Torrey, Marlon, Jones etc. I'm not making excuses, because they need to make the most of their chances and they've had chances but it's strange how Marlon looked good last year and Torrey looked better than he has this year. Not saying he was great but he was better at the very least. Jones certainly looked better.

Now we have a new WR coach and all these guys are struggling except Steve Smith Sr, who's a very savvy veteran who's been around a while. Even Steve had his struggles but not as many. Just a bad Bengals game and then a fumble today.

Certainly not possible to make a judgment on it yet, just something to observe. Could be similar to Juan and the OL last year. Maybe these guys are learning things. I'm not sure. Just grasping at straws probably but it's truly baffling how guys like Torrey have taken a step back.

I would think Bobby Engram would be a better receiver coach than Jim Hostler especially since he has actually played wide receiver position before and knows alot about  the west coast offense. Engram was always known to be dependable with good hands so  he should be able to teach our receivers how to catch the ball but honestly  Torrey and Jacoby are not rookies any more so they should already know how to catch the ball.

Not saying he's a bad coach. Could be a slow transition for some players, but I really don't know. It was just something to think about, not really a statement.

The best thing is how close this game was despite our struggles. That gives me hope. I didn't think we'd win this one but I figured it'd be close. I'm not really upset with this loss. More promising than anything. As crazy as that sounds.

Yeah, all week I was kinda preparing myself mentally for this...but in gettin' ready for the game and getting jacked up and then watching how well the D played I got more frustrated as the game went on, especially when the O sat on their hands while the game was there for the taking...but all in all we are where I thought we'd be at the end of the day, but MAN we had a chance to REALLY gain a bit of ground IF we were 4-1 while the Colts sat at 2-3. Oh well as to your sentiment and as T Sizzle put it, "It's not the end of the world". Let's just take care of business next week.

Not sure if this was posted, but this is what Torrey said on twitter:

I'm sick right now...never been in this position before...very trying times for me on and off the field but I will be better from this

Good to hear. I hope he has a monster game next week. Our offense could surely use it.

Torrey Smith is a really really cool dude so it's always especially heart breaking when he messes up. Honestly Flacco under threw the ball a bit and if he doesn't that play is likely the touchdown we need, but he got two hands on it so there really is no excuse not to make the play. Without Dennis Pitta we're minus a sure handed third down receiver and that really hurt us today.

play calling was terrible today---->lead to less running the ball----->lead to ineffective passing game.

Torrey will get better...Joe needs to put in extra reps to get on the same page with him

We need another reliable receiver. I don't know who that is or if we have them on the team but Torrey is not that guy. Great deep threat but we need someone else to be able to move the chains for when we play a team with a lockdown CB.

I am not even going to talk about Jacoby

I wouldn't mind seeing Marlon or even Camp get some snaps, especially Camp if Jacoby isn't going to return anymore punts.

Almost forgot. I think HomeoftheBRAVENS needs to be cut or to at least walk home after posting no pool picture in the game thread. Clearly he is at fault for our poor offense.

Two games out of 5 where we completely crapped the bed In the first two quarters. And not only look bad. But look like weve never seen a pigskin before...

And what hurts the most is.....

Both games we still should've won.

Don't fret - losses are bad signs but good in the long run. It forces you to be reflective. Winning too much can cover up your problems - until it's too late. If we were the same team now but somehow 5-0, we wouldn't be as good as team going forward.

So Monroe was supposed to be out for 3-4 weeks, after he got hurt, right? Hopefully he can make it back for the Bengals game.

Losing really doesn't bother me. No one seriously believes we are going to win them all. And Indy was not a gimme to begin with. The bothersome thing is playing poorly. That really annoys me. And they played poorly. Very poorly.

I'm late this go around but it was a pretty bad all around game.  The defense held tight when it counted, but let up too many big plays otherwise.  The offense never really got anything going and missed too many chances.  Hurst being abused by Werner didn't help matters.

Losses happen though.  We just have to turn it around next week.

Speaking of going forward...I expect we will win our next 2 games (TBB & AF) and be 5-2 but then we'll stumble on the road against Bengals and Steelers and end that stretch at 5-4. With some good luck we can go into the bye week at 6-4 and still in the hunt.

i had counted us being 4-1 at this point with us beating cincy and loosing to the colts, what hurts is the fact we should have beat the bengals and the colts,, for the most part the def showed up and really put us in position to win,and the off just never,,NEVER showed up,and the times they did move the ball ,,, it was effortless ,,whats the deal,,,,

Taking away the outcome, these 2 teams know how to give each other fits. There were several wins by each team. One team would frustrate the other team, then vice versa. It was a heavy-weight fight that went 12 rounds.

This might appear to be a sloppy game, but in my mind, it was really an outstanding performance by both defenses.

I would not be surprised if this game is played again later this year. I can definitely see us doing this one again.

These 2 teams create a very interesting match-up.

Definitely a stressful game for me to watch. But all in all, congrats to your team on the victory. I also wouldn't be surprised to see if these two teams played in the playoffs. However, anything can happen in the NFL so who knows.
