I think we should of asked our cornerbacks to cover more in man coverage because  receivers like Reggie Wayne and Ty Hilton are at their best when cornerbacks give them enough space.

Yeah but he's rusty. I didn't even except him to play how he did. I expected a lot worse. I guess it's a matter of expectations, because I thought he looked like garbage against (I think) Cleveland.

Honestly its just nice to see him play a game, hold his own and finish it. The defense looks much different with Webb out there and we need him badly.

cmon guys. i was proving the point about rookies being leaders and playing their hearts out. moderator made it sound like it wasn't possible to expect that from a rookie reciever.

It's far more difficult for a rookie receiver, just as guys like AJ Green and Julio showed a few years ago, a rookie receiver can in fact be tremendous

The Colts just had an awesome gameplan for the offense.

This is absolutely what happened. Colts played excellent against us and had the perfect calls to stop our offense. Truly excellent schemes and execution by the players.

I don't know, I was expecting this, but I don't think that makes it any better than it was to have low expectations. I still think he played poorly

It won't hurt him because that was nothing new

I don't ever remember Torrey dropping a pass that would end the game and yes he does drop passes but I just don't remember him ever dropping a pass that important before.

They did play a lot of man...

He honestly doesn't get that opportunity often, and it's because of his unreliable hands. You all fondly remember his 2011 Steelers catch, but do you remember the drop he had on the same drive in the end zone?

First of all, shout out and CONGRATS to all of the Colts fans who were recently discussing their team recently with us leading up to the game.Your stadium was rocking and it usually is when I watch a Colts game (on TV of course).

Second, and most important, this offense continues to stress me out. With that reason, I say it's a must win next week. We only won two games on the road and look where that got us.

Pagano just knew exactly how to attack the line with blitzes

I hear this all the time, but I highly doubt we are trained to allow three or four first downs before stopping a team. Bend but don't break is just a cliche. It isn't a true scheme. Our defense was getting so much praise today, and they did play very well in the redzone, force turnovers, and keep the score low, but we can't just say the offense screwed us and caused the TOP difference all by themselves. It isn't like our O went three and out every time, but even if they did, is that any excuse for us not to try and do the same thing. Why can't bend but don't break mean give up 6 or 7 yards per set of downs instead of 30 or 40 per series?

Bend but don't break is definitely apart of our scheme. We give cushions to wrs and try to make sound tackles to keep them from getting yac.We play hoping to not get beat deep and eventually force the opponent to make a few costly mistakes.

yeah..james hurst looked HORRIBLE today

He was TERRIBLE.  I honestly expected a safety on that pass out of our endzone.

I think Jacoby Jones needs to go inactive. He's mentally broken at this point. He's not helping the team. I'd actually rather activate Arthur Brown or even Supernaw than Jones. Bench him for a while to either get his head right or not.

I'd rather activate Thompson or have Campanaro return punts and kicks.

Am I the only person who loved Terrence Brooks today?

No, the D should hold its head up high, albeit more of a pass rush would have been awesome, BUT 1) holding this offense to 20 pts and 2) creating 4 turnovers is a job well done!

This falls on 1) the offensive personnel for failing to execute the gameplan, especially the line 2)Kubes for not adapting to what was happening 3) the WRs and Joe for not finding a way to use their athleticism to make plays when it counted the most.

Yep, that's what it is, but people don't seem to understand that. Bend but don't break is a fine philosophy, and possibly a great one, if executed correctly, which the Ravens aren't doing well.

Oh yeah I remember the drop kinda forgot about it lol . I guess because he caught the next pass to win the game .

Lets not pretend like their weren't open receivers especially every third down, key penalties ( although most BS) , and an inability to get any sort of pass rush at all ever.

Precisely. He drops a lot of big passes. He dropped a third down pass in this game. He just isn't sure handed and probably catches less than 50% of his targets.

Also, pass rush is our biggest issue on defense. That's the top need above even CB. We need another guy to develop behind Suggs and Dumervil.

McPhee is excellent and I have high hopes for Jernigan. We haven't even seen Urban or KLM, but we know the Ravens had a second round grade on Urban and KLM is really solid. I want to see the young guys first.

What I don't get is, we try not to give up the big play but do anyway so why not be aggressive early then run the same scheme in the redzone.  Defense played well, but I think this unit has the ability to do great things with the right coordinator.  We gave up a damn 2nd and 20.  I'm more worried when teams are forced to pass than run against us cause the middle is usually wide open or our shortest DB is usually covering their biggest receiving threat.  That's horrible scheming.

Who's pretending? My OP reads, "albeit more of a pass rush would have been awesome,"
