Week 5 Discussion (Other Teams)

274 posts in this topic

Well folks, the fifth week of the NFL season is here. So far we have learned a lot. There is one important lesson, never say never about a team not being capable of beating someone. Just a couple weeks ago, the Falcons smashed the Bucs, those same Bucs upset the Steelers. Did I mention the Falcons destroying the Bucs? Rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater leads the Vikings to a win over said Falcons. So what will be the never say never moment of week 5?

Key Games:

Vikings @ Packers: Teddy Bridgewater, meet Aaron Rodgers. Just R-E-L-A-X, sit back and enjoy these two 2-2 teams battle.... to keep pace with Detroit. Packers look dominate over the Bears but have been so-so in 2014.

Buccaneers @ Saints: Both teams are 1-3 in the weak NFC South. Whoever wins still has a chance at the division, and so could the loser.

Chiefs @ 49ers: The Alex Smith bowl. Chiefs smash the Patriots on a short week, 49ers beat the Eagles, what can we expect? Are the Chiefs really that good or are the Patriots becoming very bad? Can the 49ers win despite all the distraction of whether Jim Harbaugh will be there, or not be there in 2015.

Bills @ Lions: It's the return of Kyle Orton! Lions have looked like the most complete NFC North team and look to add to their division lead. Bills are atop the East... so their record is 2-2 but hey anytime the Patriots aren't at the top, it's a win win for everyone!

Cardinals @ Broncos: Two teams remain undefeated, including a Drew Stanton led Cardinals. Will a trip to Mile High be the demise of one of the undefeated teams?

AFC North:

Steelers @ Jaguars: After last week's upset of the Steelers by Mike Glennon, Blake Bortles has a chance!

Bengals @ Patriots: Well... thanks BB & B for nothing. While the Bengals look well, who have they faced? A fluke catch TD victory against the Ravens, a 1-3 Titans team and a 2-2 Falcons team? Now they get a 2-2 Patriots team? What luck.

Cincy is going to win this pretty easily. It may be another blowout loss for the Pats. It likely won't be until the Bengals play the Colts in a couple weeks that they might lose.

Gotta Love Parity in the NFL. I know it's early but a quarter of the way through this is our playoff seeds if the playoffs were to begin today.

AFC:

1. Bengals 3-0

2. Chargers 3-1

3. Texans 3-1

4. Bills 2-2

5. Ravens 3-1

6. Broncos 2-1

Missing: KC, NE, IND

Addition: HOU, BUF & BAL

NFC:
1. Cardinals 3-0

2. Lions 3-1

3. Eagles 3-1

4. Falcons 2-2

5. Cowboys 3-1

6. Seahawks 2-1

Missing: GB, CAR, SF & NO

Addition: ARI, DET, ATL & DAL

That's 7 playoff teams from last year who wouldn't make it as we stand. That's 7 new playoff teams in 2014 so far but we'll see what this looks like after week 17.

Bills and Chargers winning their divisions, crazy thought. I'll turn my text pink for the playoffs if that happens.

Lacy looks huge.  Going no gloves just makes him look even more of a badass.

Green Bay is just making it look easy right now.

So, this game is already over, right? Being the visiting team on TNF always makes it harder to win, but having Ponder as your QB on top of that?...forget about it.

Patterson is an amazing returner.  (Don't care that there was a penalty there.)

I didn't have to Ponder much about which defense to start this week(well I only put them in 2 of my 4 leagues because I like variety but yeah)

Overrated FSU products. Good luck to anyone, who drafts Winston and may god rest their franchise's soul. :P

Thursday night games are so bad

I enjoyed us beating the Steelers. ^_^

Yeah gotta represent the O's during the playoffs and since they won I am in a good mood. Plus I might as well use my perfect Ponder puns now since I won't have much of an opportunity after this lol

Are you serious? This isn't funny anymore. Just bench Rodgers, so this can atleast resemble a game, maybe.

If you're a Packers fan, you'd probably want the starters at least trickling out of the game after halftime.
