Remaining Schedule

156 posts in this topic

Looking at North schedules, I don't think CIN crack the top 2 position at the and of regular season.

Pittsburgh home games appear to be more difficult than away ones and they showed they can really stunk it up against bad teams. Not holding my breath for them either.

So, I stay with my prediction couple days ago - Last week Browns game will decide AFC North champion and WC entry but it will be Ravens and Cleveland.

Remaining schedule for the AFC North:

Ravens:  SD, @Miami, Jax, @Hou, Clev

Cincinnati Bengals: at Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, at Cleveland, Denver, at Pittsburgh
Combined record of opponents: 31-24

Cleveland Browns: at Buffalo, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, at Carolina, at Baltimore
Combined record of opponents: 30-24-1

Pittsburgh Steelers: New Orleans, at Cincinnati, at Atlanta, Kansas City, Cincinnati
Combined record of opponents: 29-24-2

I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens, Browns, and Steelers all finished 3-2 over these last 5 games.  I think the Browns have the hardest remaining schedule.

There are a lot to tough games left to be played by the AFC North. A few easy ones too, but the tough ones make you battle tested for a playoff run. I just hope we stay healthy from here on out.

This year 10 WINS necessarily doesnt get you in. Too many teams with good records. NE won 11 a few years back when Brady got hurt and missed out. Tiebreakers will be key. Bad thing is Ravens 4-0 vs NFC means conference tiebreaker won't get them in. Good thing is teams in the AFCN have tough schedules as well as Ravens. Only gimme in the division is we play Jax at home.

My guess now is that we'll either be 10-6 or 11-5; winning out would be huge, but still unlikely. Granted the @Saints game was one of the hardest left on our schedule, we usually drop one or two along the way. Right now I feel like it will be:

vs. Chargers - W (Chargers haven't been that good for the last few weeks, and I think we'll use home field advantage to gain a nice, crucial win here)

@ Dolphins - L (Definitely the hardest remaining game left; if it was at the Bank I'd be a lot more confident. I think this one is a close loss)

vs. Jaguars - W (Barring a ridiculous trap game, there's no reason why this game should be lost. Hopefully a Buccaneers-esque performance here)

@ Houston Texans - W (I think we manage to break even with road games against an inconsistent Houston team with QB issues; their defense can be solid, but I think we win a low-scoring affair here)

vs. Browns - W (Every team in our division has shown inconsistency throughout the season, and this could potentially be a winner-take-all game. It will be huge, and regardless of how the Browns play, I think home field will be a deciding factor for us)

FINAL PREDICTION: 11-5

I do think we'll make the playoffs, and hopefully with division winner honors; hard to imagine that there won't be at least two AFC North teams in the playoffs this year. Honestly I'd love to beat Cincy in the playoffs...
