49er players want Harbaugh out?

17 posts in this topic

I wouldn't be surprised if he rubbed some players the wrong way, especially while the team is frustrated over not doing so well so far. I used to consider him to be one of the best coaches because the 49ers really turned themselves around when he got there. Whatever he was doing, it really worked for awhile but lately, the team is just falling to pieces and he seems to be part of the problem. If they get back to winning, things will likely turn out fine. If they go on a losing streak... that team will implode and he'll be out of a job.

Lose a couple of your top 10 picks, pay your quarterback so that you lose a few players, and Jim won't do so well. Add that with his personality and it could certainly be true

Don't know how much to buy into this storyline.

Who are the disgruntled veterans speaking anonymously to people outside the organization? Frank Gore, who is unhappy at the change of the wind? Michael 'Diva' Crabtree?

if he does lose his job can we get Vic Fangio to be our D Coordinator please. I mean Kubiak and Him on the O and D OMG that would be sick.

plus wasn't he with the ravens a couple years ago?

 Yup, 2006-2010

haha...49ers must be missing the losing season....

If Jim got fired, I'm telling you teams will be jumping on him like tigers preying on red meats....unless they are vegetarians.....

Jim Harbaugh strikes me as similar to football(soccer) manager Jose Mourinho. Very good with the Xs and Os and getting results, but for a few reasons (personality, approach that's focused on getting results now) tends to leave the team in a worse state than he found it.

This could turn out to be nothing (again), but they do say there's no smoke without fire. And right now there's an awful lot of smoke...

I'll thank you not to compare the legend that is jose mourinho with scrubs mckenzie jim harbaugh. Jim harbaugh is just an above average coach who's lucky run of players and team motivation is starting to run out.

I met a niners fan at the deli counter tonight.. The Suggs jersey instantly  gave me away. Proud of it too. The niners guy and I played compliments to each other about the wins but he was quick to point out that he wished John was his teams' coach.  He believed Jim is too extreme.  Kudos to John for the image he projects and class act he is.

Cool to hear that. I am glad we have John here, I think Jim is the better football mind, but that does not always mean the better coach. John is far more even keel and stable than Jim. I can see how Jim's personality gets old very quick. Sometimes the what is more important is having a head coach who can manage a team, and put the right personnel in place to handle the specifics on the field.

"Jim wants to sign Peyton Manning" - called it a lie.

"The 49ers are considering trading Jim to the Browns" - called it a lie.

"Some players are annoyed by Jim" - called it a lie.

What a pattern of "lies", apparently.

See this is what I don't understand. Look at some of those guys on the 49ers who had to suffer through the revolving door of coaches and bad seasons. Alex Smith was considered a bust for a very long time, and people wondered how they didn't take Aaron Rodgers over him.

All of a sudden in 2011, Alex Smith looks like a capable starter taking them all the way to the NFC Championship Game. In 2012, he got to the Super Bowl in his second year. In 2013, again all the way to the NFC Championship Game. Who is this HE?

Jim Harbaugh. Before he got there they were a good team that just had bad coaching. They finally get a good coach, he's taken them to to the Super Bowl, and 3 NFC Title games in just THREE short seasons? Sorry but I'd much rather deal with a strict coach like Jim if his way is obviously working. Been to the playoffs, loss in the Super Bowl but Jim proved he can take the 49ers to the promise land.

If these "veterans" want to go back to the pre-Harbaugh era than I'm sure Seattle and Arizona wouldn't mind.

True. The team and owner are probably more interested in getting rid of the cancers who complain about or try to undermine the success they've been having... that is unless there's egos involved.
