How 'bout The Flacco with a 137 QB rating!  You go Joe!

It was AWESOME!!  And wouldn't you know it...Skip "Faceless" said NOTHING about it yesterday!  Lol!

We can look at some numbers when we exclude the first game of the season when for some reason our receivers couldn't catch anything coming their way, and therefore the game is an aberration that tells us really nothing about this offense or about Flacco's quality of play this season (all the receivers seemingly had the jitters, and the offense has definitely gelled since that game... I'm just saying we can't really learn much about this system from that game, when things were going wrong left and right for everybody, so why not just look at it from the perspective of the last 3 games, where we're coming into this system for real now).

Over the past 3 games, Flacco has the 6th highest QB Rating among 35 qualifying passers.  His 108.8 QB Rating is just behind Rivers, Luck, Rodgers, Romo, and Alex Smith in that span.

Just saying.  Pretty good couple of games from Flacco here!

And I know that there have been some weaknesses in the Steelers, Browns, and Panthers defenses shown so far this season, but these are some pretty good defenses from a year ago that I'm still impressed that our offense has done this well against.  Last year, all 3 of those teams were top 10 passing defenses.

As others have said and I have believed from Day 1; The Flacco can hang with the best if given some protection and a group of viable receivers. And of course, a running game don't hurt.     :D

On a side note........It was great to see tommie's "performance" last night.  lol

Of course not! But let that be Brady with that rating and it's a different story.

Incredible game by Joe!!!

He's playing better than what I thought was his best case scenario.

Doing that in the storm of issues that has surrounded this team thus far has been nothing short of outstanding.

You know I didn't know how he'd do with the west coast.  But clearly he should have been in this offense his whole career.

Flacco is getting the ball out much quicker and is being about as efficient as I've ever seen him with the football. Kubiak's offense seems to have way more high completion throws than what we've had in the past.  I really like the use of screen passes in this offense. Those plays have been money so far outside of the Pitta injury  :( .

I don't think we should entirely write off the Bengals game, as it at least partly accounts for facing defences with their own pretty clear deficiencies.

But that said, I put the Week 1 WR jitters down to general timing/chemistry issues that would fix themselves. I was confident we'd get better, but I didn't think it would be this quick.

And while I'm still iffy on QB stats (give me a good reel of tape any day), it's great to see Joe do well by the metrics people used to bash him in the past.

Yeah, today the talk is "poor tommie, they haven't given him any weapons to work with". What happen to the so called legendary Brady that makes all around him better players? garbage...... Without good circumstances, he's just another also ran in the stable of NFL QBs.

It's the perfect storm.........a killer OC, good receivers, good O line play and a running game.

 good receivers

Eh... I've seen good things from 1 wr. The rest have yet to impress. If we count other positions. Daniels . and Juice.

Agreed. Let's not forget when he was screaming at his teammates last year, but apparently that's "leadership" to them.

I'll go for the positives today...

QB - Flacco was outstanding.

RB - Forsett and Taliaferro were both on point today.  Disciplined in finding the holes and exploding through them.

FB - I was hoping to see more Juice.

WR - I don't know who Steve Smith is.  Is he a rookie?  Why was he being so hyped up?  Good game from this unknown.  Torrey showed up a little bit.  I was happy to see Marlon getting the #3 reps.

TE - Daniels and Gillmore did just fine filling in for Pitta.

OL - Phenomenal once again.  Hurst did outstanding considering the circumstances.

DL - Another solid day from this group.

ILB - Mosley continues to get better and better.  Daryl still looks a little slow this year but a much better performance.

OLB - Suggs and Dumervil both were finding their way into the backfield.  They may not have the sack numbers but Cam was consistently on his back.  McPhee has been killing it too.

CB - Another solid day.  Benjamin is good and beat Jimmy a couple of times.  Asa did well and even Elam held tight coverage in the slot most of the time.

S - Stewart had one rough play but otherwise played really well.  Of course, I was stoked to see Brooks get lots of time at FS.

ST - Tucker missed from 57?  Cut him!  No biggie really.

I agree for the most part, but I am a little more critical on our secondary. When we have the chance to get them off the field we need to do it ASAP. It also bothers me that the only INT we have had was by Ngata. Its not enough to be hard hitters anymore, we have to make those game changing plays the way we used to. We need our defense to put some points on the board and I think the play of our safeties is where it has to start at

Jones continues to disappoint...rest of the offense looked great. Hurst played outstanding. Daniels filled in nicely.

Defensively the front seven played out of their mind. The secondary was alright minus a couple of miscues and big plays.

His inconsistency is why the Texans let him go

C.J. Mosely was probably our best player on D this game. He was all over the field.

11tackles, 7 of those solo and 2 pass deflection on panthers game.

Like they said in the article, it really isn't his hands right now, it is his head. With all these coaches you'd think someone could be helping him through the mental part of it - just like with Torrey, it will just take that one big play or some 3rd down catches to get him back to form.

I love JJ & I am pulling for him. He was key in that Lombardi the Ravens brought home.

Oh you know as well as I do that's PR speak for "His hands suck, but we need to make this as positive as possible."

I don't think his hands were ever this bad. He wasn't good about going over the middle and catching, but his vertical passing game has never been this poor

I recall being concerned about Jones in preseason. These concerns haven't fallen by the wayside. If anything they've exacerbated and possibly metastasized. I'm really hoping Jones turns his game around, not if he doesn't I think we should draft a WR next year, let Jones compete, and if continues to fail to impress again you cut him as a post June 1st cut. That's my opinion.

Jones has not looked like this in a while. It's really disappointing, and I was worried that his play could drop off because these return specialists tend to drop off fast but wow.

It's shocking to me, definitely. I never thought he was a great receiver and definitely thought he was replaceable, but this is far from what I thought he'd be after he was pretty decent last year

Yea JJ is a top 10 all time favorite for me. My concern is that we just can't justify letting him play his way out of the funk we have other options on the roster. We didn't have those options in the past but now...he may have chosen the exact wrong time to fall off. I could see him getting buried in the depth chart moving forward. Especially if this touchback trend continues.

Man your vocab is cracking me up. Not a bad thing at all, it's just amusing to read how your concerns have exacerbated and metastasized. That's not good at all!
