Official (vent ) Talk about the Panthers game

So our offense scored 5 TDs and Flacco throws for only 3? He couldn't throw for 4 or 5?

CUT HIM! Overrated. Overpaid. Start Tyrod immediately!

Lol great game overall! I've said it many times..start fast and not let up. I'm a little bit concerned with Darian. Why? We got Andrew Luck next. I have a bad feeling about our secondary....

Won't lie I was a bit irritated that Flacco couldn't get TD #4. I think it would've been a new career high. We scored anyway but I really wanted him to get it.

I hear ya. But I was just being sarcastic lol. Could care less how many TDs he threw as long as we win.

I think he threw 4 in chicago a few years ago but yeah, i wanted to see it too. Its coming. we face some bad defenses this year.

I would vent that we shoulda score 50pts or something...haha

Our safeties need some work cuz there are some blown assignment like Stewart did...

I just feel like it is the SB MVP Joe; so cool, calm, and elite......

I didn't see the whole game but here's what I noticed:

Daryl Smith isn't the same player. I watched as he struggled to tackle that RB who fumbled the ball. In fact, I'm not sure he makes the tackle if Brandon Williams doesn't help him. Another issue I saw with Smith is he allowed too much space between him and Olsen in coverage. His shoddy tackling and now mediocre coverage is an alarming combination. I'm not sure if he's hurt or just lost five steps in one off-season.

Jacoby Jones just isn't the same player. I didn't watch the whole game, but I saw with to suggest that he's really just still inconsistent and Kubiak brings out the worst in him. Jones doesn't have hands...He has four feet and now he looks like he's slowing down.

Hurst looked great and better than even I expected. Still way too early to suggest trading Monroe. If anything I would entertain trading Hurst. Monroe has a very very nice deal and it would hurt us financially to cut him for I believe at least two years. I'd entertain trade offers for him, perhaps even to the Panthers. He did go to school in Carolina after all.

Happy to see Marlon, Aiken, Torrey and Steve have a nice day. Steve Smith didn't disappoint. Joe was fantastic.

Mosley looks like a beast!!! I was a huge fan of his before he returned to school and didn't expect to draft him but man!!! He's so freaking good! I think he'll take that green dot late this year or next year.

And I saw Terrence Brooks at FS!!# I'm hoping this becomes permanent.

Hurst dominated today. If he continues to play well I could see us trading Monroe after the season.

I think it would be more likely that we would trade Hurst...

Our D had an up and down day against an offense, that lacked many of it's weapons. That secondary needs to improve. Two more games till Will Hill.

I'd still look for a CB to compliment Jimmy smith if webb simply cannot be himself this year.

That combined with Will hill at FS will ease a lot of concerns.

I actualy think stewart is a better SS than Elam.

Elam shouldnt be a starter IMHO

Loved almost every aspect of this game.  Hurst - GREAT job of rising to the occasion.  The one guy (whom I like) but is truly not an example of "playing the best guy" at his position is Jacoby.  Deonte has his same skill set, except I believe is a better receiver.  Kamar Aiken also a nice piece of the receiving puzzle.

Awesome game though, overall.

jacoby jones might also be a bit past his sell by date. These return guys can just go in an instant.

Will always have bad hands and doesnt have natural route running abilty

very expendable

Elam is going to the be the scapegoat for a while, I'm guessing. Brown was for the second week after he let up that long touchdown in week one, but Elam honestly wasn't bad. He allowed a few gorgeous passes to be completed into tight coverage, but nothing glaring or major that makes you want to bench him, if you truly watched him.

He had tight coverage on the few times he split out, blitzed well, sniffed out some screens, and was pretty solid overall.

I think something people aren't considering is he's being asked to know how to play nickel and outside corner, strong safety/rover, and free safety, all while making the communications. That's a lot to ask of a second year player, but I thought he was good today

two of them were perfect passes with good coverage.

I can only recall two completions when he played cornerback, and it was the two gorgeous passes. I didn't see any glaring mistakes and he made a few good plays.

there was one early was a perfect pass just over his outstretched hand then the one where he didn't get his head turned down the sideline. Again a perfect pass. Im sure those are the two your thinking of as well. I can't recall any other mistakes either.

Those would be the two. That second pass Cam Newton completed was just pure beauty and a textbook throw on how to fit it right into the tightest of windows.

I didn't see the whole game, so I am not going to comment on Elam this week since I can't fairly judge him. From what it sounds like, though, he isn't playing bad coverage but he's not playing the ball but playing the WR. For a second year safety playing CB, I think that's understandable for the time being.

I actually posted this in the Elam thread we have and added the fact that he's a safety being asked to play cornerback. Safeties don't have the natural thought to turn their head and play the ball since the play is usually in front of them. I'm not worried about how he played the ball because his coverage was about as solid as any of our corners have had this season.

Big UPS to Smith Sr.  I thought Torrey would get 2 TDS today, but that doesn't takeaway from his great game, as well.

I am seeing something this year in this team that hasn't been there for awhile...passion.

GO Ravens!!!

The Oline is looking very solid. Flacco wasn't pressured much today. They have been solid. Hope they continue this.

Forsett and Lorenzo complement each other well, shame that Pierce had a solid game gets nicked up but I feel like Pierce needs to re-earn his playing time.

I wanted to give The safety tamdon a chance. But with both Elam and Stewart looking lost as the last line of defense. I feel like Brooks might as well play and experience the growning pains back there. At least if he blows a coverage it's an inexperienced versus a veteran not being able to flip his hips and turn. Or not turning their heads around or just flat out blowing coverage.
