So anybody want to guess who Andrew Luck is going to throw at?    If he doesn't get it together this week it could get really ugly for him.

The good news is I did see Brooks back there in the game getting live snaps. That has me very optimistic.

I certainly be with a secondary of Brooks, Hill, Elam, Smith, Jackson, Brown and Webb as starters and heavy rotational players. Wouldn't mind seeing three safety sets with that group and two CB.

I really liked Brooks back there. He, unlike Elam, was much more instinctive and flowed to the ball better. He just gets it. He understands how to play single high. I'd be very confident if Brooks was our FS next week. If not at FS, I want to see Brooks at nickel. He flashed talent Sunday.

Wouldn't be surprised if, in the long run, Brooks ended up our FS and Hill ended up our SS. With how the two positions are beginning to merge and become interachangeable, I could see that happening.

I'm guessing Elam will continue to get targeted. Why not? I would if I was him. Shoot, whoever is defending Allen or Fleener I would target. We've proven to be susceptible to the screen and those two TE could be a real issue for our safeties and LB to cover. That's how I would attack the Ravens if I was Chuck and Luck. Go two TE sets and two WR with Richardson or Bradshaw in the backfield. Wayne and Hilton could do damage. That would spread our secondary out and would devote our LB to covering. I'd target Daryl Smith, Jackson, Brown, Elam, Stewart. Colts could have to devote TE to block but that's only Allen. Cherilus has been a pretty decent pass protector the years.

Our pass rush needs to be stellar in this game. I'd have Courtney in they're a lot as well. We'll need his coverage skills against Fleener or Allen.

I can see it happen as well, but then I suppose you have to ask what's Elam's future? That's the question. I see nothing wrong with three safety sets. Also I'm not sure you can truly count on a guy who has been suspended as much as he has.

I'd personally love to get Drummond in the draft, but I'm a very big fan of Brooks. I'm actually pulling for him to be a standout FS because I'd rather use that draft pick for another guy.

I could also see Elam starting at SS.

I love three safety sets, especially since all three of these safeties can fill multiple roles. As much as Elam sucks at single high, he's not bad taking the deep half or third. He's serviceable as a nickel. Brooks looks to be a decent nickel and single high. I love the idea of having more three safety sets with Brooks as the nickel safety

I think Elam could do serious damage if he played a slot CB role blitzing the QB and hitting the RB hard. Problem is, he isn't a secure tackler and that really needs to fixed for him to succeed at SS.

I'd target in order Elam, Stewart, Brown, Smith, and Jackson. Asa actually looks for the ball so he's capable of making a play on the ball. Stewart occassionally plays the ball in man but is absolutely horrid in zone coverage. Smith appears to have lost a step. having A. Brown as a backup could help there. Chykie Brown has gotten better since the first preseason game. He's slowly gaining confidence in himself. Elam is lost unless he's near the LOS and can just play. If he's on a TE its a completion. He never turns to find the ball. Jimmy is great on whomever he's guarding and that's it. I think Asa is the second best as teams haven't been throwing at him as much as our safeties and he's a sure tackler. I think Asa will get even better as he plays more and more. When Hill gets back, and presumably Brooks starts to earn more playing time, we will we see our CB's play better IMO. Also if Webb can return to form after the bye week for the home stretch, that would be great.

I didn't really imply an order but if we're talking order, I'd go with something like this:

Elam, Daryl Smith, Stewart, Brown, Jackson, Jimmy Smith.

I can see D. Smith being second. I remember the good ol days of two years ago when you would see the quarterback throw a deep ball against us you knew Reed was going to make a play on it. Now when I see a deep ball I just go oh no which safety is it on.

He looked better this week, but he isn't comfortable playing the deep third. He isn't suited to play CB either. He did have tight coverage at times, but it's not his natural position. If he would have gotten his head around on a couple of throws they could have been picks instead of completions.

I like what I have seen when he is allowed to play in the box, but if he is asked to cover deep he looks lost. It's unfortunate we don't have a guy like Ed Reed to pair with him that would allow him to play more naturally. Myabe Will Hill can be that guy, but I would be more apt to start Stewart with Hill than Elam and Hill to be honest.

Elam will be fine when he's given the chance to play his natural position. Due to lack of talent, he's being made to do too much. he's basically filling in time at SS, FS, and nickleback. And the sad truth is, the Ravens don't have many other options than to do that right now. Stewart can't really cover either. Hell, outside of Hill, Brooks is the best coverage safety the team has right now. I don't know if having Brooks start against the Colts is a good idea or not, but at this rate, it can't hurt. At least if he's in the nickleback position, Elam can roam closer to the line.
