Critical game. Looked at the schedule early on seeing this as a tough game. I don't think we should think otherwise, just because of what we saw last week vs. the Steelers. That was surprising, given it was a home game for them and now they are on the road. But expect them to come out highly motivated and focused.

Our D vs. Their O:

They are paper thin at RB, although DeAngelo can still be effective if we aren't on our game and we ourselves are thin up front. Their receiving corps isn't great, but Olsen has been solid and Benjamin has taken virtually no time adjusting to the pro level. If our secondary doesn't pull it together, it won't matter - anyone can be effective against us if we play the way we have been.

To me, the biggest limiting factor on the Panthers this season is the fact that Cam's run threat has been virtually non-existent. He is clearly hobbled. The times he's tried to break off and run, he's shown no explosiveness and anytime he gets hit, it looks like it really affects him. I've seen a stat on how effective Cam has been when the opposing defenses blitz, but I think you can throw that out the window now. We've got to come at him - hard - and make him throw on the run and make him take some hits. If we're able to do that, our D should be able to have a pretty effective game.

Their D against our O:

This is obviously a bit of a concern. Our run game has been effective, but their run D is stout. Can we be consistent on offense and can we stick with the run game, even though it will likely be a challenge? As far as the pass game goes, I expect them to work to take Smith Sr. out of the game. This approach makes sense as he's been our best receiver to date and, given the circumstances, they will expect us to press to try and get him the ball. If they do that, we have to be disciplined and not force the issue. Take what they give to us.

With that, it would seem this could be that break-out game we've been waiting for with Torrey. However, most often, getting the ball to Torrey requires time in the pocket and, with an undrafted rookie protecting Flacco's blind side, how much time can we expect to have? Given our injuries and their defensive ability, this matchup will be a challenge.

I'm hoping we do well in this game. I have drill all weekend and won't be able to watch it as I think I'll get dismissed around 1700 on the 28th. Go Ravens! I'm really hoping they do what I think they can do. Going to hope I can at least catch the end of this game.

Can I see a dominating performance resulting in a win from BOTH the Ravens offense and defense?  Please!

@Mili

I'll take the secondary stepping up or Cam's gonna kill us, or no, Derek Anderson? Time out!!

this game CAN NOT go into over time.

My neice's birthday party is shortly after the game, but I gotta drive half an hour from my house to get there.

Right now if the game ends at 4:15 I will be fine, much longer not so much.

Great to see Joe Flacco getting some love in the mainstream media. Hopefully he has a big game to bring in a few more converts.

Big test for our OL and especially Hurst, but if we can set up Pierce/LT/Forsett as viable threats I think we can slow down their ends in particular. KO, you want to be an All-Pro? Look good here and that'll get you a long way - guarantee it.

Defensively we need to control the trenches. Play contain on Cam, force him to pass and get a bit of pressure going. I'm looking for some early hits (even if they're not sacks, just whack him a few times!) to force later mistakes. Get Jimmy trailing Kelvin Benjamin all day (not gonna happen, but a man can dream) and hope Webb's feeling better.

I'm quietly confident, but the nerves are setting in too. The Panthers will be back after last week's implosion (sigh) and we could be a bit flat after our win over the Browns, but you have to back home field in this case.

Let's get it done, move to 3-1 and get ready to face the Colts. :D

Dont target Smith Sr. too much.

We dont want a pick.

I gotta a feeling the panthers are going to be on Smitty like white on rice. Should open things up for Torrey, OD and others. That's not to say he won't get his targets, just think we are going to spread it around more today.

Thats why I'm hoping on pass plays we see alot of Flacco rolling to his right rather than sitting in the pocket. That way if the rookie does let someone get through, Flacco will already be putting more distance away from his blind side.

Why the heck are we wearing black? It's gonna be hot.

IMO black with white pants are our best looking uniform.  This game is being broadcast over much of the country and we want to look good while caging the panthers!

80 is not that hot............

Wow, thought I was the only person who thought this. The problem with the black uniforms is going to be the sun more than the game temp being in the 80s.

While I was refreshing my twitter to see the inactives, I noticed there's more talk about John Harbaugh and Michigan. It's making me mad.
