Bet the Under Armor ads don't get pulled. :D

Bet their prices don't go down either! No matter who you root for you are only as good as the next dollar you spend! Makes me sick! :ravensquote:

If I were a betting man (and I am), I'd say it might be ads for products/services primarily used by women.

I can't imagine that a large, male demographic-oriented advertiser would pull their ads (such as beer companies) over this. They might voice displeasure with it, but that's probably just a warning.

I can't think of any female-oriented products that are typically advertised during game slots, but I'm sure there's a couple, and my guess is that these are the one's being pulled. A company that is in the business of marketing to women probably doesn't want to offend that demographic by being shown during a Ravens game.

We can do without less female smelling better products and tampax/pads commercial's, bowel health and erectile dysfunction. It's football people, now beer? That's another thing....

BTW it's again anonymous persons friend and we no how well THAT turned out.

So here's the deal...  They should also be pulling ads from the Panthers, Cowboys, Bears, Broncos, Niners, Vikings, Jets, Steelers.... And  all of these teams have someone that was involved in DV cases... and these are just the ones I can think of right off the top of my head...

So, here's the deal. No advertising should be pulled on any team. Those advertisers should be using those commercial spots to address and bring awareness to DV. However, that would take too much courage. Yet, what a platform to get that message across.

Whatever...  The whole point is that they aren't.

I am hoping the Ravens boycott playing the Saints on ESPN MNF. They should request to have the game schedule changed. You know its going to be nothing but bad mouthing the Ravens all night.

Hell, I wouldn't allow ESPN to do another game at the bank In addition.

The problem with that is the NFL or ESPN would demonize us for that too.

Good. The less money the NFL makes the better the odds the owners will get rid of that bozo of a commish.

Personally, I don't loathe the guy nearly as much as some people do. The first thing you need to realize is that the job he holds is about one thing: Make the league more profitable. If you want to oust him, fine, but understand, his replacement will have the exact same goal.

The most typical reasons for fans hating him are: 1) softening of the game and 2) rules which favor offense,

#1 is driven by lawsuits and the preservation of star players. If players owned up to knowing that the game comes with dangers and were not pursing litigation, the league would not be imposing rules that make it appear that they care about player safety. These rules protect QBs and WRs - the two positions that have the most identifiable super-stars. Losing these guys hurts the bottom line and so they seek to protect them.

# 2 is driven by fans. Yes, you can argue that "hard core" fans often like defense and old school football. But those fans will be there no matter what. The fans on the margins want offense - and the league wants to give it to them. Many of those fans are fantasy owners and the fantasy game is driven by offense.

So as you and others clamor for his head, remember 2 things: His replacement will not change the league stance on those 2 items I've described and - here is a very important part - may not be nearly as adept in keeping the players union in check.

Unless you are a fan of a team a NY team, Pats, Cowboys, Redskins, Steelers, Seahawks, etc ... you want a commish who keeps the union in line and prevents the NFL from becoming MLB ... where money teams loot the small market teams for their star players. Goodell has been fabulously successful in that area and that is one of the reasons that owners love him and will not oust him over the petty scandal in which he is currently embroiled.

If they don't want to run their ads, we don't know about them and hence they don't sell them to a very passionate football public! Their loss is our collective gain.

Great point. The only thing is...the NFL won't lose a penny. They're a 501C with unlimited resources. They have the luxury of waiting this out and still garner top profits. Because of this current Ravens blackout they have been able to get more money than ever before this early in the season. There are record ratings and record sales, so far.

With all of the issues this year with McDonald, Rice, Grey, Peterson, Ware, etc.  I think it's all hurting a little.  The focus on Goodell and the NFL, I don't believe the fire is as bright...  I would tend to think the "ire" is up.  It's not just the Ravens that are under the microscope right now.

Nobody is talking about how he runs the NFL as a business/company. He's doing a good job making them money, it is a business. The fans don't want it to be treated like a business but the owners do. You're drifting into something that was never brought up...

You are right. I guess there is no true way we could ever get away from the ridicule. Steve stood tall when he addressed the media. I would just like us to continue standing tall, not just holding our heads high.

Less commercials More real football. H8R got that one dead on.

Marketing guys always have an edge. I got a degree in that field and know the consumer is more

relevant than the product. So  with the right presentation, market share and BS anyone can be turned.

The media is a revolving camp of propaganda and in my best approach I would promote short 30 second commercials under a two minute period for less $$.  Hockey is a fine example.

Just an observation.
