1 guy I miss/1 guy I wish

Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place for this. I remember there use to be a section to talk about other teams/league stuff but I couldn't find it. I watched almost all of the Jets/Bears game tonight and immediately realized there is 1 guy I miss and 1 guy I wish.

Miss: Rex Ryan

The Jets exotic blitzes and ability to not only get pressure on Cutler but force a big fumble in a big spot is huge. I know the Jets lost the game, but I just have to think with the personnel the ravens have if Rex were still the DC here he could be wreaking havoc on people. With the solid defensive line, Dumervil and Suggs, and the speed at middle linebacker, not to mention the bevy of safeties, I feel like Rex would have a field day with this personnel. Not to mention Rex might actually trust Jimmy and simply put him on an island, drawing up much better coverage for the rest of the secondary.

Wish: Kyle Fuller

He was picked 14 overall, just 3 spots before Mosely. Now don't get me wrong, I love the Mosely pick and he has certainly lived up to his first round pick and then some, but with our depleted secondary I cant help but wish we had this guy. He would be a day 1 starter for us across from Jimmy. According to ESPN at least, tonight he had 7 tackles, 2 PDs, and 1 INT. That's not new for him, he actually already has 3 picks on the year, 2 of which came against the 49ers.

His stat line isn't even close to telling the story though. For those who watched the game, this kid was all over the field and Gruden was pretty much saying Fuller's name on every single defensive play. With Tillman out for the Bears, I believe this guy is the Bears number 2 corner now but could be passing Jennings for that number 1 spot by years end. Again I am not complaining because obviously we never had the chance to get Fuller being picked 3 spots before, and I believe Mosely is a special player, but I just cant help but imagine what if Fuller fell to us and how different our secondary might look

I agree.... I was also thinking of this earlier...Weird.

Rex coming back as DC would be the greatest thing to happen to this franchise since winning the Super Bowl. I doubt it would happen anytime soon but I can dream.

Mosely's a beast in his own right, but man o man, Fuller looks just as good at his respective position. I wonder if we would've took him had he fell to us.

If Rex got fired (not likely) I think he would entertain coming here because of Suggs Nagta and harbaugh IMO . Did he he get an extension last year or something ?

Honestly, I miss Rex Ryan. I want some swagger on defense. Some organized chaos! We are desperately missing that. And the person I wish we had was Tavon Austin. I think he has the potential to be a Percy Harvin. Plus he's from Baltimore.

I've always loved Rex's brash and aggressive personality and style while he was here with us and even in NY.  I remember when people in here said they wanted NO part of Rex coming back here again and now...people are in here calling for his return.  Funny, how things change!  ;)

I miss Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Jamal Lewis, Derrick Mason and our fierce and ferocious defense!

Miss Boldin

Wish Greshem (proven to be the most durable and overall productive TE out of the 2010 draft, though I will always love pitta and i hope he somehow comes back, i can't help but think he's done.)

Graham or Gresham?

Yes.

Gresham, unless Graham was from that class too and I just didn't know it. But Gresham was only a few picks out of reach if I remember correctly.

Yes, indeed.

At this present moment... would you guys trade doom for corey graham? imo i would. mchpee/upshaw are more than capable. our secondary is horrid. it's not like we are pressuring qb's anyway

Don't get me started on how overrated doom is.... And how little value we get out of him compared to the value we got from the player that we cut to clear the cap space for him

I miss our old scary defense.  I don't think our defense scares anyone anymore.

I wish for any free safety that could fly sideline to sideline.

Which player did we cut for that? I know you're not thinking of Boldin, because the two had absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Miss: Peter - my all-time favorite Raven

Wish: Keenan Allen.  We'd already signed Daryl Smith, and yes even though there's no way to know whether a guy like CJ Mosley falls to us, I'd have taken Allen over Arthur Brown.  I love Arthur Brown and think he's going to be a very good player for us, but Keenan Allen is exactly the kind of receiver we missed in 2013, and unlike Steve Smith or Q, I know for a fact barring injury Keenan will be in the NFL 5 years from now.

Doom was number two in pass rushing productivity last year. That measures, hits, pressures (imagine that, two stats that don't show up in the box score), and sacks and measures them against the amount of snaps spent as a pass rusher

Miss: Chris McAlister

Wish: Ryan Kalil over Zuttah.

As for as Kalil goes, do you really think the Panthers would unload him with how their offensive line was getting new faces? Plus, how's his cap hit since he was once the highest paid center in the league?

Still doesn't compare to Boldin
