Steve Bisciotti - Best Owner in the NFL.

54 posts in this topic

I just watched the entire Bisciotti presser and it was compelling to say the least. Two things struck me. One - the idiocy of some of the questions from the assembled media and two - how remarkably truthful and honest Bisciotti is with his responses to even the most irritatingly stupid questions.

One of the questions that came up was regarding a Forbes article where it was reported that Bisciotti would be forced to sell the team. Really? I was dumbfounded that an article like that was written at all just given the stellar leadership Bisciotti has provided the Ravens and the league. I found his response remarkably poignant where he simply said he would sell it if compelled to. I was frankly taken aback at his candor. I honestly cannot imagine an owner that would even come close to Steve Bisciotti in the NFL and would be devastated if something like that would ever come to pass.

Slowly but surely, in his own inimitable humble way, Steve Bisciotti has endeared himself to the entire Baltimore region! In my mind, he is the best owner in all sport and we need to support him with everything we have. While the Ravens may have botched the Ray Rice situation somewhat, their admission of fault and subsequent actions just tell you what a fabulously run organization this really is.

We are blessed to have an owner that is transparent, intelligent and caring. Most importantly he is a Baltimore area thoroughbred!!!

Go Ravens!

Totally agree! People love to judge with hindsight. That's easy. Steve leads in real time. A great owner. Can't think of a better person to lead the team I love.

Go Ravens!!!!!!!

The media is just looking for a story, that's why they keep poking this case. Milk the "conspiracy" and "cover-up" angle until people stop buying it, then move on. I think we're almost at that point.

I hope you are right. It has gotten really tiresome at this point. It isn't fair to anybody involved in my view. Based on the national attention this story has gotten, you would think that Ray Rice was Pol Pot! I am not condoning his actions, but seriously this is all a little too much reaction relatively speaking....

Steve makes it a pleasure to be a Ravens fan. It's the vision from the top down that makes this organization what it is. I watched all the PC on NFL Network last evening and he came across as honest even to questions he may not have felt comfortable about answering.

We as Ravens fans can walk about town with our heads held high because no matter what the lynch mob media says our franchise is in good hands led by men of high integrity and good character.

I just wish that RICE was the one on trial by the media... It seems it's everyone else now... I guess that's the news cycle. If I ever see KVV, I think I might just spit in his face. He's a piece of trash steelers fan trying to get spotlight.

I feel for him and all of our ravens staff. It's sad that they are caught in the middle of this witch hunt

Perfectly stated. Witch hunt is exactly right.

I believe that that statement was said more sarcastically than literally.  Remember, Bisciotti added to the end of that... "I don't do much around here anyway so it's not like I'm losing 60 hours a week...."  I was very impressed with how he sat out there for nearly an hour and took question after question after question...as idiotic and redundant many of them were...without fear or wavering!  When I saw him handling the media while sipping his water so smoothly; all I could think about was The Godfather!

My favorite part was when he said "You're going to have to ask a better question. Or re-phrase that, because it doesn't make sense.".....aand you're a total idiot.

Well Pete Schrager is so Bisciotti showed comendable restraint by not shooting him with his laser eyes

@Mili

Well Mili, the reason I don't believe there was sarcasm involved was because he was truly taken aback at the question (because I suspect he really didn't know of the article). Also, keep in mind, he has considered the sale of the Ravens before as well, when they lost the AFC title game to the Pats...

So, it is not far fetched that he could very easily do it, if he felt his integrity was being questioned and team ownership wasn't worth the price of his personal integrity. That really is the kind of person Bisciotti is in my view.

I know many have said they want to boycott ESPN because of this ... but I'll tell you ... you can't go anywhere. My fantasy team uses Yahoo, so I went out to see the standings in my league and ended up on their home page. Don't even go there - its worse than ESPN.

They reported that his press conference was "offensive" .. he is "tone-deaf" and "borderline misogynistic" (WOW) and is showing a "disturbing trend in the NFL community". Of course, they scanned the 47 minutes of video so they could freeze-frame on a photo with his eyes bugging out to make him look crazy.

It just doesn't matter what Steve would say, it is going to get ripped in the national media. There are very few voices of reason and they are drowned out by the blood-thirsty. It is sickening.

Mr. Bicciotti was correct in saying if the league game him a 6 or 8 game suspension originally, the blow back would not have been as big.

It's amazing that a reporter can take 1 side of a story and call it fact. I believe that if your going to quote someone, especially if what they're writing is an accusation, they should have to reveal their source. Guys inside the organization wouldn't open their mouths about anything if they knew their name would be in the article. Shameful.

Many 'journalists' are floundering right now because Bisciotti called them on their crap and shot down a story. Now the columns and articles of whining, unfounded complaints, and general written tears are flowing.

A lot of media did the same thing when Billick put a whooping on them before SB 35.

Love it! Get 'em, Stevie B!

It was bad enough when Billy Cundiff and Lee Evens almost cost us, not only the AFC Championship, but our ownership. If the defamation of our owner and team at the hands of the self-serving media and the segment of the public who either hates us or who are always champing at the bit to try and bring down people of power (for no other reason than that they can) costs us our ownership, I will be 100x more livid than I am at the moment.

I've said many times that I don't believe that he would be forced to sell the team, but I suppose it is possible that he would think that team ownership isn't worth the price. However, I would hope that he'd only want to part with his ownership on his terms and selling the team because of this would only further embolden those whose only motive is to slander. I would certainly hope he'd not be willing to give them that satisfaction.

Ray Rice is the one that hit his wife. I'm tired of this witch hunt. People are looking for fault where it does not exist. I don't fault the Ravens. Think about it. As a football team, you travel all over the country. You bond. You become a family. You fight together through wins and losses. Whether they mean to or not, they get close to each other. Players AND staff. They become a family. You want to believe that your family can be forgiven and rehabilitated.

God is a strong foundation in the Ravens organization. One of the main principles for believers is forgiveness. How can they practice what they preach when they shun a family member right away? I understand this is a business, but being very close with each other I think helps the players trust each other and thus win games. I ask again, as a human being, why would you shun one of your own immediately? I hate how these reporters don't empathize with the front office. Not everything has to be a cold-hearted business decision. In order to win games and acquire fans and make the business better, there is more that goes into it than business decisions.

I believe what happened in the Ray Rice situation was human decision. Ray Rice was a model citizen that did a lot for the community that never so much as had a misdemeanor. As humans, we have to believe people make mistakes and can be forgiven or we'll all become bitter. I know these reporters are just trying to make a story, but it's getting ridiculous now. If you have any type of empathy, you can see why the Ravens staff didn't fire him right away. Steve is an awesome, swaggerific owner. How dare people try to burn him at the stake.

The problem I have with this is the media now is all in an uproar because of what steve said.  There is no pleasing them honestly because they will not stop until the entire NFL has new management.

Some of the media is in uproar but honestly I think Bisciotti took the air out of the tires fo now. Not seeing a whole lot about it and I think the public just doesn't care that much anymore.

There's a group of people who seem to want the Ravens to take accountability for Rice's actions. They can keep waiting because that's not going to happen.

110% agreed!

I was mostly impressed by his no b.s. approach.  He didn't talk around the subject, he didn't give 'no comment' answers.  This is his team and he came off as an owner saying here are my cards, let them fall as they may.

I also liked how he said that right now Ray Rice's party is doing what is best for Ray Rice and rejoining the NFL.  If that means making the Ravens look bad, they will do it.  Not that it is us against Ray Rice, yet there sure are a lot of unnamed sources being quoted lately.

Team before players- Ravens Proud!

Love how he released the statement only 10 minutes before the press conference and didn't give anyone any time to digest it. Pretty funny.
