I am serious. He had a decent game last week and I said as much last week but this week and week one he looked bad. I like Elam but he's very inconsistent and I'm worried if he can't improve it's either coaching or him. We either get another secondary coach or it's Elam.

Eh, it's a mixture of Pees not putting him in a spot to succeed and Elam himself.

I am praying for Elam with one of the worse games he has played in his short career. On A serious note hopefully Pitta will be able to play football. I hope its not career ending.

Elam's performance was the worst safety performance in Ravens history . Not kidding .

Pitta's career , im afraid , is over .

Didn't he also put up good numbers vs the Steelers and Saints?

This was the most yards and the highest completion percentage he has thrown this season by a nice chunk. I think his QBR was a lot higher as well

I know, I know. Because he didn't get a sack, he sucks. But in reality, that's not how football works.

On a day where very few defensive players shined, Suggs was probably the best defensive player we had out there.

Suggs had a number of huge defensive plays that may just show up as tackles... But they were huge!

Suggs was one of the better players on defense today. Some key tackles for loss.

Well, everyone looked bad week one. Also its only his 2nd year and his 1st year he was out of position. Lets not label him a bust and bench him for someone with 1/3rd of his talent just yet.

Feel free to cite specific plays...my expectations for your response are low.

And again, I get it. When the game was over, you went to the box score, you saw the number 0 in the sack category next to Suggs name, and therefore you drew assumptions from that.

Simply put, I don't think you could name a single defensive player on the Ravens today that outplayed Suggs with any sort of support.

Ahh, now I see it. Its not really a Suggs problem at all... its a jimmypowder understanding problem.

It all makes sense now.

I am normally a Pees supporter, but there was no excuse for his gameplan today. Elam should never be left on an island like he was today. They stayed completely away from Jimmy Smith all day and Hoyer attacked the hell out of the right side of the field. It doesn't take a genius to roll safety help over to that side and play a short zone with the corners. Bad Game from Pees and the Players. Even if Elam was being used poorly, he still has to know how to play that position if he's the one making the calls.

But all in all a win is a win and I am happy to be 2-1. My prayers are with Pitta and hope he makes a speedy recovery to catch more Footballs from Joe in the future.

Half agree, half disagree.

Didn't think the defensive gameplan was all that great obviously, but Elam's coverage skills were horrendous in this game. He got caught looking in the backfield numerous times, and he was incredibly late on his helpside coverage, particularly when we were in zone.

Frankly, half the time when we were playing zone, it looked or felt like Elam was in man to man and wasn't expecting anybody to ever throw to his side. You could argue its Pees fault that Elam was playing in coverage so much, but that's kind of the new role for both safeties in the NFL these days. Long gone are the times of Ed Reed standing 20 yards off the ball and just covering the deep routes all game long, because thats essentially a disadvantage for the defense these days.

Where was the pas rush? We swnd 4 guys at hoyer and he couldve had a tailgaten in the pocket he had. Couldve burned the burgers instead of our secondary.

So, I though this was funny.

Matt Elam on missed tag: 'He got up so fast. It happened so fast, couldn't get to him. I wasn't happy at all with my performance.'

Matt Elam and John Harbaugh should take a cab back together... can't think of a worse game for either guy. Awful display out there coaching and playing.

Granted, I'm a big Harbaugh guy, but his coaching decisions today were inexplicably terrible.

The only reason he won't face heavy scrutiny for how bad he was is because a lot of other players on our defense were pretty bad today.

And the saddest part to me is... we were absolutely horrible on defense today in almost every phase, yet we held them to 21 points on the road. Just imagine if we could actually put a full game of quality football together on defense.
