Official Vent Thread: Who needs to walk home and who doesn't !

I'm getting tired of Jacoby, as hard as that is to say. He looks like the player we picked up from the Texans. Doesn't catch on offense, and now he doesn't even catch kickoffs and punts. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on kickoffs, because it was Cundiff doing the only thing he does right, but still.

Other than Jimmy Smith, why do the Ravens always have [crap] for corners? Why is "Sucky Brown" still on the team? Anyone with half a brain can figure out the opposing team's offensive plan! Throw the ball to whichever receiver "sucky brown" is covering?

Not a rhetorical question...... Why do the ravens continue to play sucky brown? Why do the ravens keep webb? Since he's been a raven, hes watched more games from the sideline than he's played in!

On a separate note, where was Dumerville today? Why didn't he play?

Cap. Do you know how it works?

The guy has no clue how to stand tall.  If he can't get his shoulder square, he's done.  He has no idea how to tackle and it keeps burning us.

Tackling is a very underrated skill coming out of college.

Pyrrhic victory, and at times a very unconvincing one, but survive and advance.

Hope Pitta's OK. Forget how important he is for us, it just sucks to see him go down like that.

Offence really improved on last year, I love how reliable and versatile it promises to be for us. We live and die off Joe this year, and Steve Smith's impact is just priceless.

Defence at the very least needs a change in philosophy. I really hope this was a wakeup for what needs to happen if nothing else, but at this point I wouldn't be opposed to cutting Pees for a more aggressive DC that would better complement our high-percentage offence - Spags would be my first thought.

Defense was terrible today for a significant portion of the game.  Elam looked absolutely lost in the secondary.  Webb doesn't look healthy.  We need a true FS back there.  Our 4 man rush wasn't generating any pressure either.

We also can't seem to tackle.

So you see us going 14-2?

Yes einstein I do.... As I said, not a rhetorical question.... I'd take a nationally recognized high school corner any day of the week over brown... How many DB's are on the ravens..... Pull one from practice squad and give him a shot.... send brown packing!

Did i answer your condescending question about cap?

Cool, but obviously I was talking about Webb. Do you know what NOT rhetorical means?

Anyone concerned with how lackluster Lardarius Webb played, today? Do you guys think it was more of him fighting-off the rust/just getting back; or, was it a sign of more (bad) things to come?

not yet. This was his first game back. I didnt expect him to really shut anyone down.

Webb will improve from here imo. I have a theory that players tend to underwhelm in their first game back as they get back up to speed with the game.

I just can't blame Joe for not having chemistry with Torrey when Joe ALREADY has more chemistry with Steve Smith and Owen Daniels, who have both only been here a few months. Yeah, it's on Torrey.

wow the best post on recievers ive read thus year

so very true

One play that stood out to me was a Browns RB running down the sideline towards him and Elam has poor form on a 'tackle' (hard to call it that) and the RB ran for some more yards. The coverage were the biggest and ugliest mistakes.

That made me really upset because it looked like Elam didn't even want to touch him.

Not really about the game... but those commentators might have been the worst I've ever seen. They acted like they didn't know how the game of football worked

We'll see, it looked like he was wearing ankle weights on the catch by Hawkins.

The Fact of the matter is that THE BROWNS gave the STEELERS and SAINTS ALOT of trouble on the ROAD.

We just beat THE BROWNS in their house.

No shame today we beat a good team.

Browns beat NO at home.

Are...are you serious? This is the FIRST game he has actually played bad. He was our DMVP last week. Or Atleast up there

I am serious. He had a decent game last week and I said as much last week but this week and week one he looked bad. I like Elam but he's very inconsistent and I'm worried if he can't improve it's either coaching or him. We either get another secondary coach or it's Elam.

I am praying for Elam with one of the worse games he has played in his short career. On A serious note hopefully Pitta will be able to play football. I hope its not career ending.

Defense was so bad today, I mean Hoyer was 17/19 at one point with the receivers the Browns have. Just embarrassing for the secondary

But Torrey is getting open

I'm pretty sure the opposite of this is true. Worst part about it is that he's not even being matched up with the #1 corner and still isn't able to win the one-on-one battles. He's all but useless in the redzone (then again, everyone on O seems to be).

Didn't he also put up good numbers vs the Steelers and Saints?

I did see one route today that he ran at half-speed the full way through.  Meanwhile, Flacco was scrambling trying to find anybody to throw to and Torrey created absolutely no separation.

On 3rd and short in Browns territory late in the game, Joe threw it to Torrey who went up and had his hands on the ball (near sideline), but Gilbert grabbed his facemask, blinding him and drawing a few easy flags. It set up 1st and goal.

Ah, how could I forget. ha

I know, I know. Because he didn't get a sack, he sucks. But in reality, that's not how football works.

On a day where very few defensive players shined, Suggs was probably the best defensive player we had out there.
