Week 3 - Baltimore Ravens (1-1) at Cleveland Browns (1-1)

unfortunately, no surprises there.

I'm surprised, honestly, because while he does get banged up a lot, I don't think he's ever missed a game. I always just saw it as small injuries, so this is a first, as far as I know.

It was a surprise when he showed up on the injury report, but not a surprise this morning to hear he may not go - given the move to cut Thompson and pull Toussaint from the PS and put him on the roster.

I wouldn't worry about it...... There's really nothing to be ashamed of here other than a former player that was arrested for DV, not uncommon. The Ravens org didn't do anything that any other business would do for a well respected, long standing employee.  Don't let all of the trash media and forum cynics affect your outlook!

I don't think it is her outlook she's concerned about ... it is the way everyone else is reacting to it.

I too am not in Ravens Territory and will be out in public sporting my Ravens jersey. I'll be in a sports bar and will be interested to see if I get grief. Yes, I know I shouldn't care what other people think, but I can't help but be curious about what reaction I get. Some are most certainly going to revel in our discomfort. Others will think it is an over-blown joke that they are tired of hearing about (even though they have no vested interest in the Ravens).

Balfan, I am curious as to reaction, just as you say...  I may have to Work on a few good comeback lines if they get raucous

It's kind of funny, I've been rocking my Ravens gear for two weeks, and we're so out of touch up here, no one's even noticed. My son hadn't even heard of the ESPN article until I told him about it, and he's a huge fan (Billings area).

The only comment I've gotten was from a little kid in the library - "You like the Ravens - cool! Do you like the Seahawks, too?"

This is such a big opportunity for Forsett and he knows it ... Could be a good day for him if we can open some lanes.

Pierce inactive. Lmao Arthur brown inactive again . just don't understand this coaching staff, I guess the awesome boost *sarcasm* we get from Zach orr on special teams is worth deactivating a very talented 2nd round pick.

Brooks inactive, too? I guess that's a result of a healthier secondary. Arthur Brown...whatever. Has the team been asked about this, yet?

Could be as simple as a motivational tactic w/ Brown.  Trying to get him to step up and develop a 'play me' mentality.  From what I've seen in interviews, etc he's always been a passive personality.  Just a crazy theory.

Who really knows.  Wish he would see the field, he's a fan favorite, and played very well in PS.

Don't understand what people don't get about the Arthur Brown inactive... what value does he bring to the team on gameday?

He's, AT BEST, the 3rd MLB on this team, and he's the weakest on ST. We have two MLBs on our team who essentially play every snap.

Explain to me the difference between Brown being active and never stepping on the field (what would happen if he was active) and Brown being inactive?

And no, you don't activate him just in the off-chance that one of our MLBs has an in-game injury. We've got other MLBs on this team who can fill in if that happens.

Ok, at my friendly neighborhood Beef O'Brady's...  No one has thrown anything at me yet or yelled any obscenities...  I'm probably good...  Once that regular crowd shuffles in...  I'll keep you'll posted.

So here we are...  Week 3.

Gameday Thread rules...  No profanity, no name calling or attacking other members or MODS...  lolol.  No videos, picks, gifs or Meme's.

Let's keep it friendly and have some fun...    Last Week's thread was GREAT, and we all had a blast.

Sideline-to-sideline speed, coverage ability.  Could have been a help against the Bengals with their two tight-end sets, end arounds and quick screens.  Plus he's not bad in ST, not sure where you get that he's the worst.

You'd also think that you would want to get some reps to your second round pick who played extremely well in PS.  Pro Football Focus had him ranked as our 6th best defender in PS.

Plus Daryl Smith hasn't been the best in the first two games and CJ Mosely has struggled in Pass Coverage (something Brown can excel in).

He's better than Daryl Smith vs the run. He makes plays, he's solid in coverage. He should be three down LB. Ravens screwed him over though.

I hope that was just giving Gradkowski some practice reps on the field, a few mins ago in the Ravens preview of the game, but I didn't see Yanda!

Or, he could take a radical approach and actually EARN reps. As in outplaying the guy ahead of him. If he doesn't, he's where he is.

And he's essentially the worst on ST, because he's 3rd out of 3 in terms of special teams talent behind McClellan and Orr.

Needless to say, when it comes to personnel decisions, I tend to sign with coaching staffs on professional football teams rather than fan boards. I'm sure plenty of fans have their own conspiracy theories of why he's inactive, but in the end, they are still just theories.

Yup, the Ravens are in the business of using high draft picks on players and then burying them on the depth chart for multiple seasons.

SMH.

He's not a charity case.
