Elam is dangerously close to being a bust.

It's still too early, but I'm not happy with his play. It's inconsistent. People will point to Jimmy, but I remember Jimmy. I was a major fan of Smith coming out and watched him closely. He wasn't as bad as people suggest and was much more consistent than Elam at this point. It is hard for safeties to develop at times, but Elam is progressing very slowly and you can find SS anywhere in the draft. 

 

Needless to say, I'm dissatisfied with Elam's development.
