Never mind the bollocks, let's talk about Smith Sr.

Steve Smith is a top receiver again. We got an absolute steal and getting cut by the panthers might be the best thing to ever happen to him.

He is on pace for 1716. Like good lord. Comeback Player of the Year maybe?

Steve Smith with another great game, hopefully he can continue to do well but right now he looks like that #1 guy for us that we lacked

Smitty is still emotional after the panthers game. Had thoughts for a moment of a possible "hangover" and drop of intensity, but really don't think will happen with a guy like him, too much pride in his game.

Thought I would give this a bump.

Smitty has been inconsistent and has shown a bad case of board hands. Did the panthers know something we didn't?

I said it in the game thread, JJ watt has better hands than smith sr. He showed us early that he drops way too many easy passes and he has unfortunately continued that trend.

He's so emotional, if he isn't involved early, he's pretty useless the rest of the game.

It seems to me like every game plan should start with some easy completions to Steve. His emotion really seems to drive this offense. For whatever reason they don't do that.

He wasnt "useless" Torrey would not of had the game he did if SSS was not on the field.

No excuses but Brandon Flower is not a joke. He is a top 5 corner and is the perfect match-up for steve smith.

Dropping way too many balls, but I agree, need to get him some quick passes to get the offense moving.

This.  He needs to be targeted early and often in games to get him going.

Looking at Reggie Wayne coming off an ACL injury and a bottle of other injuries, I can imagine Smith Sr. having 2-3 years of effectiveness. He's still on pace for 1000 yards. Honestly, as time goes by I see Torrey Smith becoming our guy. Still Smith Sr. is effective on the field reguardless, It's honestly Marlon Brown that's been the downside. I really thought he was going to become a legit #2 and become a breakout player, I guess the sophomore slump does exist. Hopefully Smith Sr. and Torrey Smith light it up at the right time.

Definitely, It's helpful for Flowers that he's the same height as Steve Smith. No jump balls but Flowers does have hops anyways.

Dropping a lot of passes, but still very effective.  It's the dropped TDs that I consider unforgivable, regardless of whichever receiver in this league does it - just unacceptable to me.  Overall, though, he had a bad month - Aside from a solid showing against New Orleans, his end of October through November is pretty forgettable.  I still think he's going to finish with about 1200 yards.  But he's always been this guy - dropping passes, disappearing for stretches - even in his 2005 season where he lead the league in receiving, he had 7 games where he had a combined 26 catches (or about 3.5 per game) for 303 yards and 2 TDs, and was held under 40 yards receiving 4 times that year.  Ultimately I'm not too worried about it, except for the dropped TD passes.

I still think Steve is doing well more than his worth.

Some lanes he creates for torrey and aiken/coby with 2men covering him is unreal.

There is a reason why Torrey is getting a ton of yac yards. When its thrown to Torrey, its only one guy he has to beat unless a deep safety knocks him out.
